The private terrace is a suntrap in summer, and with the heavy scent of lavender and gentle buzz of some very busy bees filling the air it is hard not to feel instantly relaxed here

About this property

Hop Pickers Cottage - sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

One of five characterful cottages converted from 18C farm buildings, in a peaceful courtyard setting. Tastefully furnished rooms blend traditional and modern, and the many original features are complemented by local art work and photography which give a sense of the building's former use as a dwelling for hop pickers during the annual harvest.

From your own private patio you can step out into the pretty cottage garden (shared with other guests) and in warmer weather relax in hammock chairs or the outdoor seating. On summer evenings, take in the scent of lavender, jasmine and honeysuckle or light the firepit and, on a clear night, enjoy the starry skies.

Five star experience! From beginning to end our hosts Paul and Angela were professional, helpful, informative, kind and genuinely interested in ensuring we had the best experience whilst staying in The Hop Pickers Cottage. The cottage was clean and presented to a high standard, and equipped with everything we needed. The beautiful garden areas are communal between five cottages, but there is ample space for all and the opportunity to enjoy a quiet space too. There is a telescope in the garden, which we thought was fabulous as the skies are unpolluted, so plenty of opportunities to star gaze. Each cottage has its own small garden with seating outside, which we made use of too.The location is beautiful and varied with so much to do within easy access. In addition to the usual tourist leaflets about the surrounding area, Paul and Angela produce a tailor made bulletin highlighting the key events taking place for the duration of your stay. We thought this was a lovely touch, very thoughtful and extremely useful!Highly recommend The Hop Pickers Cottage and our hosts!
