This property has a lot of potential, but you should carefully consider the access and logistics. The property is approximately one mile uphill from most restaurants and grocery stores, with the final approach being very steep. Several taxi drivers would not drive all the way to the property, requiring us to carry four suitcases up the hill ourselves. Taxi's in the area were not responsive to US phone numbers at all, so the walk got very exhausting without a car. Restaurants/Grocery were very used to calling a cab on behalf of a US# which worked better when getting home, but we had zero success with calling one from the house. There is also consistent moisture in the dining area (Very cool stone wall nook), however it made for an always slippery floor that had a musty smell. The locking system was also challenging. Doors automatically locked when closed, multiple keys were required, and doors locked from the inside could not be opened from the outside with a key. The gated entrance also required a key to enter and exit, making it difficult for members of our group to come and go independently. The property itself was nice, the bedding was actually the best we had in Europe, but the transportation challenges and complex locking arrangements significantly impacted our stay and ultimately led us to leave earlier than planned. The owners were NOT understanding with our request and did not offer any flexibility with the no-refund policy.
