About this property
Gorge View Welsh Slate Cottage
Hurstville is a traditional Welsh slate cottage nestled in the heart of Cilgerran; a stones throw from the Castle. A spacious, recently renovated 3 bedroom detached house that has castle views and a decked terraced with views overlooking the impressive Teifi Gorge. Our cottage is close to pubs, shops and many local walks along the beautiful River Teifi across to the Wildlife Wetland Centre. Additionally less than 6 miles away lies award wining beaches, which, like Hurstville are dog friendly!
From Cilgerran you can join the River Trail or visit the Welsh wildlife Centre and Nature Reserve situated on Teifi Marsh with its award-winning visitor centre standing amidst nearly 300 acres. Within a short stroll of the cottage you can discover the castle which hosts various events during the high season and you may even see the annual Coracle Races - the one-person boats native to this part of Wales which have a history dating back thousands of years. There are three pubs in the village and an excellent local store which is open most days from 8am until 8pm.
From the garden and the decked area you can sit and have a drink or dinner in the summer whist looking out over the treetops that cover the Teifi Gorge which runs down as a tributary to the nearby Teifi River.
First floor: The cottage consists of three bedrooms, two with king-size beds (one with an ensuite shower), a third bedroom with a single bed (an additional single mattress is also available to sleep 6 although please note that the mattress is pull out). A family bathroom with bath and landing with storage space and fold away cot for a baby. We also have a stair gate if this is needed for really young guests safety and also a high chair for meal times.
Ground Floor: Dining room with table to seat 6, sitting room with two 3 person sofas and wood burning stove, Smart TV and WiFi, kitchen with all equipment, utility with toilet, an outside enclosed garden with decking, BBQ (please bring your own coals etc) with panoramic views of the forrest and gorge.
Bedding (including pillows, duvet and a blanket) is provided for each of the rooms along with towels. Should these not be required then please do say.
The cottage is equipped with broadband, a Smart TV/dvd (includes Netflix) dishwasher, fridge freezer, and wood burning stove for those milder evenings and also a washer dryer should you need to wash any clothes or dry any towels during your stay.
The garden is secure for all dogs as it is fully fenced/walled to let them out unattended should you wish.
Free parking is available on the road immediately outside the front of the cottage with access by a set of 4 small slate steps to the font of the house.
Hurstville is regarded by the family as a home from home and looked after as such. Either myself or my wife are available on our mobile to support you with any questions you may have and there is a comprehensive guide in the property. We also have a network of local friends who are also on hand to support you should you have any difficulty. The property is well maintained and fully furnished/equipped throughout giving you all that you should need for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
