Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. Welcome to The Shepherds Hut, a truly unique, pet-friendly retreat for two, tucked beneath the spectacular 600-year-old ruins of Sheriff Hutton Castle. This cosy hideaway delivers serious wow factor, a perfect digital detox with no Wi-Fi and no TV, offering the chance to switch off completely. The open-plan space includes a comfortable double bed, a compact kitchen with electric hob and fridge/freezer, and a shower. Just a few steps away is a second, smaller shepherds hut housing two toilets and a sink for added convenience. Outside, relax on the decking with seating and a fire pit as you soak up uninterrupted views of the ancient castle walls.
The setting is steeped in remarkable history. Marvel at the ruins once home to Richard III, and where Mary Queen of Scots is rumoured to have paused on her fated journey to London. A short walk brings you into Sheriff Hutton village, home to a well-stocked store and a fantastic pub serving excellent food and local ales.
