Overall great stay - a few things need fixed up - which will likely get done between stays - we had about 12 bear sightings during our stay!! Good size for our group (6) Very clean and we really enjoyed having multiple floors to spread out Kitchen pots and pans could use a little help and poison ivy outside needs cleared - but overall great stay!

The cabin is a bit tight on space (thinner stairs, smaller areas), but perfectly comfortable. The hot tub is a nice addition. The road leading up to the cabin isn't too bad, outside 2 parts that are more on the steep side. If you're not in an AWD or 4WD, be careful if the roads are wet.We saw bears on our porch or very close by every day during our trip, but they did not attempt to bother us or get inside. So, just be smart!

Definitely a “well worn cabin in the woods vibe”. Extremely close to the Gatlinburg strip. Communication with owner was excellent. Issues dealt with promptly!

The ceiling fans were dirty with dust and cob webs, downstairs bathroom shower needs to be updated(rusty). The middle bathroom needs some handyman fixes.

Thank you for your review Kevin! Much appreciated. I visited our cabin right before your stay and agree on everything you said below. We do 2-3 deep cleanings/year and we were definitely due as I noticed the cobwebs as well. Our cleaner is onsite doing a deep clean as I type this. Deep cleanings normally take 2-3 days versus a normal turnover of 4-6 hours. We are on it and I hope that doesn't deter you from coming back.

Nice setup for a larger group. The kids and grandparents checked out the hot tub and wide variety of table games, outdoor games, and board games. We had a bear visitor briefly the first night, it new to check around the cars but left them alone since we followed the recommendations of no food in the car and kept the trashcan container tightly shut. Then the last night it provided some extra entertainment tearing up the neighbors trash. The kids havent stopped talking about it. Very close to Garlinburg and not too far from Pigeon Forge (20-30 minutes depending traffic) We tried the Ski mountain pizza to support locals but we would not recommend it even though its very close. Great communication with the host and well kept.

Great hot tub, nice bed, nice kitchen. We enjoyed our stay. Outdoor lighting needs bulbs replaced, very dark on deck at night.

Thank you for the review Gary! My last guest also mentioned some burnt out bulbs. My maintenence guy was out of the area, but has neen notified to take care of it along with exterior cobwebs that are thick this time of year.

We had a great time. The cabin was very clean and it was pretty well stocked. The porches could have used a good sweep to get rid of the spiders and webs but to be far, we are in the woods. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean. Great place for a sibling get together.

Lol! Thanks for your review! Spiderwebs on the porch are hard to keep up with. You can take them down one day and next they are right back up. Life in the woods. But hey, they keep the mosquitos and other pests at bay. Glad you had a great time.

Beautiful place to stay and enjoyed the bears.
Will stay again real soon

About the host
Hosted by Jay Welborn
Jay is a retired Air Force officer and currently works as a contractor at Shaw AFB, SC. Jay went to Architecture school at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where he and Susan fell in love with the Smoky Mountains area during weekend getaways. Susan owns a home daycare center and has provided childcare all over the world as the Air Force moved us from place to place to include Japan, Germany, and a myriad of stateside assignments. We have five children and the cabin has provided a wonderful place for our family gatherings.
Why they chose this property
We bought this cabin because it was so close to Gatlinburg and it was nestled in the woods just the way we wanted. Zero steps to main level, easy access drive, and plenty of parking. Winter mountain views and seeing the Ober Gatlinburg Tram is really cool. We've spent the last couple years remodeling and putting our special touch on the place. We've already had lots of memorable outings with friends and family in our home away from home.
What makes this property unique
Plenty of space for a family get together! We know you'll enjoy our little cabin in the woods.
