We loved our stay here, it was so peaceful, and those views!
We arrived late our first night which made for a challenging long drive down the narrow road in the dark. We felt a little daunted, until when we drove that road again in the daylight and saw the beautiful land that it went through, with rivers, fields, hills and lots of sheep!
It felt like staying at a friends cottage, it was very well appointed with everything you could want in the kitchen. The place was clean and spacious. I do wish the pillows had more life in them, but overall a very lovely place to stay and take in the views.

The furniture is partly very old and ripe for bulky waste. The carpet in the living area smells unpleasant and looks very unappetizing. The duvets are the purest disaster. They are very old and the down feathers extremely clumpy. The only good thing about the house is the view and the TV screen. A fundamental restoration should take place here so that you can feel comfortable.
I never been on Skye before so I literally didn’t know about Thorsvik, after 20 minutes on a rural road finally we reach the cottage, stunning, we all remained speechless. The position is wonderful, all we were thinking about Skye was there. Inside the property is just perfect, cosy and comfortable. I’ll definitely back to Skye, one of the best place on earth.
My fellow travelers wanted to cancel our travel plans and stay here longer. A truly beautiful, peaceful, and comfortable house. The drive in is long...be sure to follow the route provided by the rental folks, as GPS will take a longer route (It was beautiful, but time consuming). As it's 13+ miles back to town, pick up your groceries on the way in, then enjoy the splendor of constantly changing views out the windows, or from the deck, or during a ramble around the countryside.

breathtaking views
we spent one week in this very spacious, extremely well equipped house. we felt good with every kind of weather we had - whether it was pouring and we just watched the clouds passing by or in plain sunshine when we spent time on the terrace. getting there was a bit challenging with the ~10km of single track road INCLUDING sheep, stubborn cows and oncoming traffic. we absolutely loved it. a very small "minus" were the couches which look really good but once you sit in them you slide immediately to the back and have to struggle to get out. we enjoyed the time thoroughly and - hadnt we booked another property elsewhere- would have loved to stay longer.
