Romantic Oceanfront Home with Dramatic Sea View, Hot Tub and EV Charger

Phoenix Nest, our romantic and spectacular oceanfront vacation home, is nestled on two glorious acres of forest right on the ocean.

The 2500 square foot, newly remodeled home is bright and airy and includes a 44-foot living room with windows throughout overlooking the ocean. The two master bedroom suites also have unsurpassed, sweeping views of the ocean. The house has great privacy. You can hear the waves crash and see the osprey and gulls fly by as the low tide unveils the rocks and sandy beach. Watch gorgeous sunsets from the deck or hot tub.

From the hot tub, enjoy watching sea lions surfing or resting on the rocks on the Havens Neck peninsula. We often see gray and humpback whales and recently blue and killer whales spouting and occasionally breaching out of the ocean.

The bluff is like a garden, covered with plants and natural wildflowers. Known as the 'banana belt,' nearby rivers provide a more fog-free and temperate climate than other coastal areas.

Unparalleled Beauty: Dear Pat,
We were greeted by deer and the gentle barking 'hellos' of the sea lions. The house is so comfortable--more space than we imagined and the light so wonderful.. The view rates in our top three--following the Grand Canyon, Positano, Italy and tied with Villa Cinciano in Tuscany. As we say farewell to the deer and sea lions, we'll promise to return and will always remember the beauty by day and the peaceful blanket of the Milky Way by night.

A magical spot on the Coast. The drive up on the PCH is always worth it. We spent 2 weeks staring at the sea in splendid isolation. Books, reading, and soaking. Can’t say enough about the view. Our host’s communication was just right. Need a break from the world (with WiFi if you HAVE to have it)? We’re planning our return as we sit at the airport.

Amazing getaway

We loved this property, it was the perfect stay for this weekend. We stayed at the house cooking all meals and afternoons at either the patio or the beach close by. We can’t wait to come back!

The perfect place to restore and reflect

We had the good fortune to stay at the Phoenix Nest four years ago, and were thrilled to return for a longer stay this fall. The location of this beautiful and very comfortable home is just perfect, situated on a bluff on the rugged Mendocino County coast with spectacular views of the ocean, while still being easy to access from Highway 1 and close to nearby towns, services, and park lands. We're already talking about when we'll have a chance to return again.

Seaside Retreat

Beautiful seaside house both outside and inside, with many sea-related art pieces. The owners have tried to think of everything that will make one’s stay more comfortable. Lots to do in nearby towns and beaches. Wonderful!!

Great getaway on the coast

Spent a wonderful week here. Such a special location and access included with this listing. House was well stocked with anything you may need! Wonderful communication with the owner as well. Tranquil Treasure

This is an absolutely gorgeous home with views that are awe inspiring. The location demands that you relax and let your troubles and life's demands slide away. I actually enjoyed not having cell phone service, it allowed me to disconnect from my phone which I have become much too attached to. We explored the surrounding areas and had some incredible hikes and adventures. Pat was incredibly responsive when questions arose.

Perfect ocean getaway spot

Perfect location, secluded but not isolated. Ideal getaway spot for sea viewing, whale watching, and sunsets. Super comfortable home with the most well-stocked kitchen we've ever experienced in a vacation home. We stayed for a week and were able to cook gourmet meals with no trouble. Great books on every shelf throughout the home. Perfect for a couple or two couples and for longer stays. One of the best VRBO experiences we've ever had.

Corner of Paradise

A beautiful nest perched on a bluff above the Pacific. Light and warm and inviting. Very clean, well furnished and equipped. Peaceful with ocean views, birds and waves and rocks.. Could not have wished for more. We are already planning our return.

Unbeatable sights and sounds of the ocean

Incredible location on the ocean! We could hear the waves crashing all day and night, and even the occasional seal barking. Can't be beat for the view. The beds were super comfortable and the house was adequately appointed with everything we needed. The indoor spaces provided multiple options for relaxing, reading, enjoying the view, watching TV, etc. The hot tub was wonderful and provided an impressive view of the ocean and the stars.

House with a great view!

Wonderful house for our family! Gorgeous views of Pacific and sunsets from deck! Living area roomy and sectional sofa facing the ocean is so comfortable and cozy! Galley Kitchen has all cooking utensils you need. House is close to 2 grocery stores, great hiking trails and small restaurants! FYI Steps going down stairs are steep. We’d book this house again!

On the edge of California, above the crashing waves

This was our second stay at Phoenix Nest and it was wonderful. The location, on the shore bluffs at Haven's Neck in Gualala, CA, is simply perfection--the crashing waves right below you, the views of Haven's Neck, the sea and shore birds and views of the occasion whale breeching. As lifelong Californians, we believe that this is the right place to experience the best of our northern ocean and beaches, plus redwoods at Van Damme park. Thankfully, not a place for children or pets, but for natural beauty and solace.

Breath taking views

Well the honor was right when she says the only room that doesn't have a view is the bathroom. Absolutely breathtaking! My only concern where the stairs I have my mother is elderly and really can't do stairs and that was a big somewhat issue for us but other than that the place was very clean very quiet.. would definitely recommend it

Lovely vacation home with incredible views

My husband and I stayed at this lovely vacation rental last week for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The home was easy to find and had great parking in front of the house. We had a lot of privacy there which was very nice. The views from the house are spectacular (although we did not see any whales, but that's okay). We loved the location as it was only a 2-minute drive to Anchor Bay's downtown, 6 minutes to Gualala, and about 15 minutes to Point Arena. There's so much beauty to see there. We went on several walks/short hikes/beach walks during our stay. There was a problem when we arrived and Patricia was responsive to my concern and kept up communication with us during our stay. I enjoyed my communication with Patricia.
