These will be your favorite places to stay in Mentone, and by all accounts The Cliff House is one of the most spectacular cottage views in the southeastern United States Appalachian Mountains. No other venue in Mentone has this incredible vista. Review the photographs on this web page to see the spectacular views from Cliff House. These are your views upon awakening each morning, dining in or sitting on the screen porch hypnotized by the incredible natural beauty and sounds of the waterfall.
WiFi service covers the entire property, and full cell phone service from any vendor is available using WiFi technology (refer to Telephone... listing under amenities). You can also see a list of all amenities available.

At Cliff House enjoy a three season screened porch facing Desoto Falls and a breathtaking view into the canyon basin and the Little River 120 feet below.

Cliff House has two bedrooms with queen size beds both with views of the Falls with private baths. Both bed rooms are on the same floor with rest of the house. A half bath is available for your guests. The house includes a fully equipped gourmet kitchen with dishwasher, drip multi cup coffee maker, microwave, refrigerator/ice maker,dining area accommodating six, gas fireplace, washer and dryer, and the screened porch with balcony/deck and gas grill overlooking the Falls.
Cliff House accommodates four adults, and additional overnight guests are not allowed. Bedrooms are suitable for older children. Each accompanying child is considered a traveler.

Parking for two vehicles is on site, and overflow parking for daytime guests accommodated at street side. A second cottage facing the woods is now being offered, and this one is handicap/wheelchair accessible with separate dedicated handicap parking, including first floor bath and kitchen with no architectural barriers to wheel chair usage.

Cliff House and adjacent cottage are a three minutes walk to Desoto Falls overlook and Lake Desoto in Desoto State Park both visible from the cabin. Swimming and canoe launch are available at the park. Cliff House is three miles from the historic town center of Mentone Alabama where restaurants, shopping, banking and service stations are located. The property is 20 miles from The Little River National Preserve and Visitors Center administered by The National Park Service. Desoto State Park (Lodge and Restaurant) is a four mile drive. Driving to other cities; about 2 1/2 hours to Atlanta Georgia, Birmingham Alabama, or Nashville Tennessee and 45 minutes from Chattanooga Tennessee. These cities are all served by regularly scheduled commercial flights with Chattanooga (CHA) being the most convenient. If you're looking for a house in Mentone - just choose this one -you'll be glad you did! The covered porch on the back and the deck overlooking the waterfall were perfect and incredibly peaceful. The living and kitchen area seemed bigger than the online pictures could show. Mentone area was very chill and relaxing. Already planning when we can return.

Our 4th time staying at the Canyon Cliff House. The view and roar of the waterfall from the cabin is always mesmerizing. We also crack the bedroom window just a little at night for the best sleep ever. The cabin is well stocked, always very clean and comfortable with waterfall views from almost every room. The two bedrooms are identical and at opposite ends which is perfect for two couples. Screened porch is very comfy with plenty of seating. The host is wonderful and always so gracious! We’ll be back!

We absolutely loved our stay at Cliff House! The home was spotless, well stocked, and instantly felt like home.We booked it for the view of DeSoto Falls—and WOW, it delivered. The view is truly breathtaking. Sitting on the porch listening to the falls never got old…we could’ve stayed there all day.You can walk to multiple trails with different vantage points of the falls, which made exploring super easy and fun.The location is convenient, and the home is easy to access. Balpha, the owner, greeted us on arrival and couldn’t have been nicer. You can tell he truly loves sharing this special place.We visited in March, so some restaurants were still closed, but we didn’t mind. We grabbed a few things at the Dollar General and enjoyed sandwiches at the house (because honestly, you won’t want to leave that view anyway). We did find a great spot recommended by Balpha—New Tiger's Inn Restaurant—and ended up going twice! Check out their daily specials on Facebook.If you’re looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway, this is it. We’ll definitely be back!

Cliff House was constructed in 2017 on the brow cliff overlooking Desoto Falls on property owned by our family since 1945. Cliff House was developed with vacationers in mind specifically as a retreat for spiritual reflection, and as an offering for others to experience this spectacular natural wonder. Cliff House is a single floor home with both bedrooms in gables on opposite ends of the house. The estate includes The Cliff House finished in 2017 and our newest offering Canyon Falls Cottage a woodland cottage with two bedrooms on separate floors and private baths. This cottage was designed without architectural barriers Impeding wheelchair access. and a handicap transfer first floor shower. This cottage is available to accommodate additional guests when reserved at the time Cliff House is rented or available as an independent rental. The cottage is on this website with locator number 1335112. If wishing to rent both, availability calendars for both properties must be viewed simultaneously and show availability for dates requested. The two must then be reserved separately.
