About this property

Stunning Water And Sunset Views

This property is the perfect answer for anyone who wants to be close to the action and attractions of nearby Bar Harbor but still enjoy water views. Property exists on five acres ensuring ample privacy and relaxation.

Our favorite activities nearby include walking down to the water in the Blagden Preserve, getting dinner at The Travelin' Lobster and bringing it home to watch the sunset, and taking an afternoon swim at the Little Round Pond. Acadia National Park and countless other hiking trails are all within a 15 minute's drive. Don't miss the bread, pies, and pastries at Little Notch Bakery or an unforgettable dinner at Burning Tree. Ample restaurants, shops and bars (including a spectacular bookstore) are in nearby Bar Harbor for a day out. The best part about this house is watching the sun set each night over the sound, and enjoying the wildlife in the peace and quiet.

House contains four bedrooms, sleeping 8, and a great room with a pullout couch. There is a bathroom on each floor. Main floor has spacious living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast nook, large bedroom, full bath, and 2 decks. Upper story has master bedroom, second bedroom, and full bath. Terrace level has spacious great room, bedroom, laundry room and full bath. Size and privacy of rooms makes house perfect for family reunions or multi-family visits.

Indigenous plantings, rock walls, and open field provide ample open and sunny spaces in the backyard. You can wander down a short path and admire the unique stonework whilst picking wild blueberries.

Why they chose this property

The house is located on 5 acres in a quiet section of Mt Desert Island, and is very quiet. Birds are singing in the early to mid summer, and there are beautiful nature walks that are adjacent to the property.

What makes this property unique

Private, quiet location, view of the Western Bay off of Mt Desert Island, and large house with simple wood construction and decor. Scandinavian in its soul, as it was built by a Norwegian family.
