Your comfortable, spacious house awaits! Built in 1911, our home offers old world charm with modern amenities. You will feel at home, transported back in time more than a century. You're a 5 minute walk to the Capitol Building and a short walk/bike/scooter/drive gets you to other wonderful places around St. Paul. Also close to Green Line Train that connects you to Downtown Minneapolis & St. Paul, the Airport, and Mall of America.
The house was originally built in 1911, and retains all the original handcrafted woodwork and vaulted ceilings, and clawfoot bathtub of the period. It also boasts a recently renovated , elegant kitchen and bathrooms along with a modern, open floor-plan. Fall in love with the character of the aged oak woodwork, nine foot ceilings, antique radiators, and original golden Hardrock Maple floors. This winter, curl up with a blanket and a book while you enjoy a hot beverage.
The ground floor includes a half-bath, spacious living room, elegant dining room, and large, modern kitchen. In the kitchen, dishes, cooking equipment, fridge, and tea/coffee items are at your disposal. Complimentary laundry machines are available.
There are three bedrooms upstairs - the first and second each have queen beds, the third has a full bed. Also upstairs is a full bath with an antique claw-foot tub. Please note, the stairs to the upstairs are steeper than in modern homes.
There is free off-street parking in our driveway which is just to the left of the house as well as locked and covered storage for your bicycle.

About the host
Hosted by Richard

We (Richard and Hannah) have hosted guests for short, mid, and long-term rentals for nearly 8 years. Along with our wonderful children, we love to explore the plethora of parks in the area and enjoy the many cultural events and cuisines that the Cities offer. Hosting has been a great joy and we look forward to providing you your home-away-from-home!
Why they chose this property
This was the first home we bought after getting married. The historic nature of the house immediately won us over and while we have learned just how much work an old home requires, our love of the character of the home has made us reluctant to part with it!
What makes this property unique
The neighborhood we are in is a hidden gem in St. Paul. While considered downtown and close to everything, it is tucked away in a quiet area. The proximity to the incredible architecture of the Capitol and Cathedral was a huge draw as well (both buildings allow public access - they are a must see!). The house itself allows for enjoyment of all seasons in Minnesota - in the warmer months sitting on the covered front porch or eating at the table on the backyard patio are favorites and in the colder months curling up with a blanket in front of the large living room window watching snow fall can't be beat.
