About this property

2 Bed in Penmachno (oc-y44743)

This characterful cottage sits in the charming village of Penmachno, just 3.5 miles from the popular village of Betws-y-Coed. The holiday home welcomes four guests and is perfect for couples and small families looking to explore the landscape of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park. The surrounding area is a paradise for keen walkers, with nearby beauty spots such as Swallow Falls to explore, as well as waymarked trails through Gwydir Forest. Mount Snowdon is 15 miles away, and just outside the village are the Penmachno Mountain Biking Trails, making it a great base for cyclists. Journey into Betws-y-Coed to explore independent shops, selling everything from outdoor gear to handmade gifts, and enjoy its excellent eateries. The village is also close to popular family attractions such as Zip World and Go Below. Further afield, take a trip to the walled town of Conwy (20 miles) or spend a day at the seaside in Llandudno (23 miles).

The terraced stone cottage has a welcoming, home-from-home feel, with contemporary furniture sitting alongside charming period features and thoughtful accessories. Inside, store coats and boots in the hallway before heading into the cosy lounge with its roaring wood burner. Unwind here after a day of adventure, stretched out on the sofa with your favourite book or streaming a film on the Smart TV. The separate kitchen/diner is bright and airy, with a dining table overlooking the garden and everything needed to rustle up a hearty meal for the group. Upstairs, two tastefully decorated bedrooms await – a double and a twin which can be made into a king on request – both offering lovely views and plenty of storage for your holiday attire. A family bathroom, complete with a shower over the bath, rounds off the accommodation.

Outside, the enclosed patio garden is a peaceful spot in which to relax after a busy day. Fire up the BBQ and tuck into an al fresco supper on a balmy evening, before sinking into the hot tub and enjoying the distant mountain views. The cottage has on-street parking nearby, subject to availability.
