About this property
Glanrhyd Snowdon Cottage
Glan-y-Rhyd is a delightful traditional 200 year old single storey cottage situated in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, available for holiday rental. It has a spectacular location on the bank of the River Conwy, on the edge of the popular village of Betws-y-Coed, an ideal base from which to explore the many attractions and leisure activities that the Snowdonia National Park has to offer.
The cottage has recently been sympathetically restored by local craftsmen employing traditional methods and environmentally friendly materials. Whilst authentic and traditional, the cottage enjoys all mod cons. The cottage is tastefully designed and ideally suited to discerning couples seeking a romantic break and solitude. However, it can comfortably accommodate up to four people in two double bedrooms at opposing ends of the property, allowing for space and privacy. We offer a reduced rate for a single couple sharing just the one bedroom according to the season.
Glan-y-Rhyd translates as ‘on the shore’. You will enjoy stunning views from all of the main rooms overlooking the river and beyond down the valley to the mountain Moel Siabod (2861 ft / 872m).

About the host
Hosted by George Smith

Hello, my name is George.
Why they chose this property
I've been fortunate enough to own Glanrhyd Cottage for approximately eight years.
I have been visiting this area for many years and instantly fell in love with the ruin and always hoped to own it, so when the owners offered it to me I jumped at the chance.
It has been a labour of love as the cottage was a complete wreck when we purchased it with a tree growing inside, we spent two years restoring it with a lovely local traditional builder.

What makes this property unique
I love the solitude, views, walks and fishing.
