Situated in an elevated position, 500 feet above sea level, overlooking woodland and fells, located in the Lake District National Park. Ennerdale Water is the most westerly lake (5 miles) it is a great place to escape even in peak season, with crystal clear water and pretty forest walks. The beautiful coastal town of St Bees (6 miles), enjoy a walk or surf/ kite surf on the gently shelving surf beach. Whinlatter Forest is 19 miles away, explore some great bike tracks or Go Ape. Located just off the Coast-to-Coast walking route, the local area has an abundance of fabulous walks, Catbells (17 miles) or Kinniside Stone Circle (2 miles) where, on a clear day, you can see Scotland and the Isle of Man.
The lodge is accessed via a number of steep steps from the parking area, the lodge offers a high spec finish with oak flooring, USB charging points and luxury touches. The open-plan living space has everything you will need for a romantic getaway. There is a double bed, living area with sofa, heated throw to snuggle up under on an evening, while enjoying a game of cards or watching a movie. There is a wall mounted Smart TV and dining table where you can enjoy breakfast and make plans for your day ahead! Although rural, you get the best of both worlds here and there are lots of great take aways locally which offer a delivery service, so if you don’t feel like cooking why not choose from a good choice of cuisine on offer. The kitchen area is well-equipped with a Belfast sink, an electric two-ring hob, microwave, and small fridge/freezer. The bathroom is off the living area, it offers a walk-in shower and WC.
There is a covered veranda in front of the entrance to the lodge, the garden has been thoughtfully designed and has an elegant style offering a lovely private outside living space. In the evening enjoy the perfect Dark Skies from the private hot tub and star gaze while enjoying a glass of fizz! Relax and unwind in front of the fire pit, which is perfect on a cooler evening, listen to the running water in the nearby stream. The garden has frequent wildlife visitors, red squirrels and rabbits love the peace and tranquillity on offer here. The pièce de resistance is the log cabin which is located up a small hill to the back of the garden via some stone steps, roll back the barn style door and you will find a private sauna with some lovely essential oils to take away your stress and troubles. If you are brave enough, once you come out of the sauna, take a cold outdoor shower to awaken your senses! There is a fabulous outdoor kitchen area, the owners provide a convenient stocked onsite service where you can purchase charcoal BBQ, wood etc. if you don't want to pop out to buy supplies.
