- Super nice sun porch overlooking the lake - Great having 2 full bathrooms! - Cable TV - 1 bedroom is really tiny so if you are a group of 6 adults you may want to consider a different/bigger cabin - Remember no towels or extra toilet paper/paper towel - No fire pits - Some ants but we are up north...

This is the third time we have stayed in Oak and have been coming to this resort every year for over 20 years.

It was musty smelling and the bedrooms were very cold. The sofa needs to be replaced/. We will not rent this cabin again. It should be closet looked at before renting again. The other cabins were fantastic so this one really stood out.

That is no longer the case. you feel like you are walking through a parking lot to get from the parking lot to the beach.People are also allowed to have fires on the ground by their cabins, which is something new. Once you maneuver around the cars, you have to walk around teh ash piles. Need more than 3 fire pits for the resort.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been staying at Elbert's resort for over 20 years and love our annual tradition. The swim area is great for kids, Timbers is nice to have on site, and we love that our extended family can all be up there together. For improvement opportunities, I would like to see more maintenance of the cabin from year to year. For example, the condiment shelf in the fridge was held on with duct tape. For the price we pay for the week and as old as the fridge is, they could probably upgrade to a new fridge. I also miss that box fans used to be supplied in the cabin. We brought two of our own, but on hot summer nights there is no air flow in the cabin. The ceiling fan in the dining room shakes and rattles if turned on too high, so that didn't really help.Lastly, office staff was not clear on what was needed to hold a reservation for next year. Before this vacation was even complete, I was told I needed to put $150 down for next year, or the computer wouldn't recognize it as a reservation and would boot us out. The next day I called to put the money down and someone else told me that wasn't true and I could pay the deposit in the Fall. It would be recommended to get your office staff all on the same page. Thank you for a good vacation overall, but with the rates increasing greatly the last two years, it does make us raise our expectations overall. Thanks.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love everything about coming up for this annual family vacation. We were happy to see new kitchen appliances, mainly the fridge! The old one had been very overdue for replacement. The cottage does get very hot and stuffy if it is warm outside. We did bring fans, but it is still hot. A portable air conditioning unit for the main room would be a welcome addition. Since the rates are going up a substantial amount for 2022, I look forward to seeing an enhancement such as air conditioning or a dishwasher.

Review of THE OAK

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love coming up to Elbert's Resort and are happy to be right on the lake. Our cabin, THE OAK could use a little updating for the price of $286 per night, however. The refrigerator shelf on the door is held closed with duct tape, the carpet is dirty and the sofas are very old and filthy. We had ants in the kitchen which was a new addition. This year we purchased sheets to cover the furniture as we didn't feel comfortable sitting directly upon them. The coffee maker is getting ready to die, too. Luckily, we aren't in the cottage too long as the weather was terrific. Finally, with COVID in mind, the bedding INCLUDING the blanket and bedspread should be washed in between visits vs. simply "sprayed with a viral killer". I believe the owner family should consider investing in 2 sets to swap out.

Reviewer Comments: GOOD; HOWEVER, WHEN WE GOT THERE, THE BATH MATT IN THE SHOWER ONLY BATHROOM WAS TOTALLY WET WHICH MEANS A NEW ONE WAS NOT PUT DOWN-GROSS AND THAT THE SHOWER IS LEAKING; 1 OF 2 ELECTRICAL OUTLETS IN THE FRONT PORCH IS NOT WORKING-BAD TO HAVE ONLY 1 WORKING OUTLET; CALLED ON FRIDGE THAT WAS LEAKING WATER AND NOBODY ANY CAME TO CHECK ON IT-BAD RESPONSE TIME; LAKE STORM DOOR WOULD NOT LOCK-DANGEROUS FOR US AND WITH ALL OF THE HIGH PRICE INCREASES, I EXPECTED BETTER CONDITIONS AND SERVICES.

Elbert’s Resort - Great Fishing Vacation Spot!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin and resort were just as pictured. The cabin was spacious and clean. The rooms were large and the beds very comfortable. It was nice having the Timbers Bar and Grill. The food was good. It was also nice having the Dollar General Store a few minutes walk from our cabin! Our main focus was fishing and the fishing was awesome!! Large blue gill, crappies, perch and bass were plentiful! We even caught nice ones off the docks! Also, we met some families who come every year and they were very friendly. We would recommend Elbert’s to friends and relatives. In fact, we are returning next year! We’ve been looking for a nice resort with good fishing and we believe we’ve found it! The staff was very helpful and pleasant. St. Germain is a beautiful Lake! Looking forward to next year!

We could not find the source of it during our stay. We loved the sun porch. Bedroom with the double bed is very small. Our family has been coming to Elberts since 1997.
