UPDATE on Russell Cove Cottage: Sadly the 1907 version of Russell Cove Cottage had to be demolished and this was accomplished in mid October 2024. New home is 5 bedrooms and 3 baths including an en-suite in primary king bedroom. We are in a family neighborhood and have a large yard for fun, games, and relaxing. Only a few weeks left for Summer 2025!!

Construction is 95% complete and interior is just about ready for arrival of our furnishings! We now feature central air conditioning and heat.

1st floor king bedroom across from full bath with shower.

2nd floor Primary bedroom with water view to have a king size bed and wait for it..... ENSUITE PRIVATE BATH with shower - I can't wait to stay here myself :)
Additional 2nd floor bedroom with queen bed and water view / another bedroom with full bed / and also another bedroom with 2 twin beds, one with a trundle for a total of 3 twins. 2nd floor full bath in addition to the en-suite bath.

*SUNROOM overlooking the river / bay where you will see lobster boats and likely some kayakers
*DECK adjacent to sunroom with same view
*FRONT PORCH for relaxing on street side

We have an absolutely gorgeous view of the harbor, relax with a cool drink while you watch the lobster boats bring home dinner! We are a mere one minute stroll to the beach - you can spend the day at the beach and still be close to the conveniences of the cottage - super important while with children. We have a wonderful yard for adults and kids alike. Our gameroom will be inside now, and kids will be able to play air hockey and other games without being overhead of the main living area. Such a bonus when it's time to come home from the beach, when kids are waiting for parents to wake up, or in the case of rain. Our house has something for everyone!

Our village boasts gift shops, restaurants, general store, artist studio, etc. Kayak rentals, deep sea fishing and whale watches available just down the street. As if that is not enough, Old Orchard Beach is only 4 miles.

Further details: Striper fishing is great! Enjoy ice cream and gift shopping. Lobster available cooked or uncooked right around the corner. Generations of families return year after year for the great atmosphere and fun of a true Maine ocean village. We believe that you will definitely want to come back next year, and we will warmly welcome you!

We provide a cooler on wheels, cart for transporting beach supplies (also provided), all linens, and paper/plastic goods for your convenience.

Home will now have heat and air conditioning without having to use window air conditioners.

Great Getaway Spot!

We just finished our 11th year in a row at Russell Cove in Camp Ellis. That pretty much says it all. Quiet neighborhood ideal for walking and biking, 2 minute walk to the beach and to the corner store, and Huot's Seafood is just down the road. Grandkids have grown up here and were sad to leave. House was clean, and had all the amenities, even bedding and towels. And parking for 5-6 cars, which is more than most other rentals offer - a big plus for us. Sara is easy to reach if you have a problem. Great spot!

Amazing house, extraordinary hosts

Such an amazing property! The view is beautiful and the house had so much room for our crew. The hosts made us feel so welcome and made sure we had everything that we needed. While this current house is absolute perfection, I can't wait to see what the new build next year has in store!

Great stay at the beach

We booked this house for a family vacation including a family of 3, a family of 4 and 2 grandparents. HOUSE- since it will be rebuilt, the important parts are that it was clean, well furnished and the host is responsive . LOCATION - perfect! Quiet neighborhood, small beach at the end of the road protected by rocks which makes it quiet for little kids, you can walk 10 min to the bigger beach that goes all the way to old orchard Corner store across the street which we visited probably every day! Lovely lobster pound just down the street where they will steam your order on request, cute restaurant and marine down the other way! Easy drive to old orchard, ogunquit, bidderford pools (a must with kids to catch some hermit crabs) I am sure the new house will be wonderful too, we are glad we got to experience the authenticity of an older family beach home with its little quirks though! Great memories were made for all

We had a wonderful time at this house. Everything was included so we only had to bring our clothes! The place was clean and the bedrooms were comfortable. We especially loved the screened in porch! And the proximity to the beach. Having a corner store close by was another plus. We were a group in ages of 70s, 40s and a 17 and 12 year olds. Surfing was close by so they surfed twice a day! Would love to stay there in 2025.

So Much Fun!!!!

We loved staying at this house. The front porch was amazing. We walked to the general store and got coffee every morning. Neighborhood is peaceful and the people are so friendly. Great place to spend time with the family. Sara was very responsive and made us feel welcome.

Amazing views and location

We LOVED our stay here. The host was extremely accomidating and friendly The home had everything you could need. The views, especially in the backyard, are breathtaking. The home is so close to the beach, it really is a perfect location in Camp Ellis. The neighborhood is quiet and all of the neighbors are very friendly. Also, the general store is about a 30 second walk and open daily which is so nice. We will be back. We loved it here! Thank you!

Wonderful Week in Camp Ellis

From start to finish, the experience of renting and enjoying Russell Cove Cottage could not have been better. Situated steps from the beach in the fishing village of Camp Ellis in Saco, the welcoming and well-maintained beach house provided us with a week filled with comfort and relaxation. The ravages of back to back winter storms did not diminish our enjoyment of and appreciation for this unique property with waterfront views from the back yard and sunporch to the cool comfort of the screen enclosed front porch. Within walking distance of a local lobster pound , General Store and Huot’s Seafood Restaurant, one always had the option of securing breakfast, lunch or dinner locally, in neighboring coastal towns or by cooking inside in the well appointed kitchen or outdoors on the grille. The promise of the renovation coming after the summer season bodes well for anyone seeking a first class stay at a classic Maine summer cottage. Blessed this year with unbeatable weather, we truly loved our time at the cottage and look forward to returning next summer. Thanks so much, Sara!

Another great year!

This is our 4th year staying at the Russell Cove Cottege and another great vacation. The property is fantastic, it is totally stocked with everything you could imagine needing which makes packing so easy because you don't have to bring a million things. The house has a great front porch and a sun room in the back which are great for hanging out. The game room is getting a little shabby, but our boys still loved it and I know it will be part of the home make over this off season. Plus the location is perfect. Not even 100 yards to standing on sand at the beach, but great view of the Saco river...it is fantastic. We will be booking again for next year!

Wonderful Time

It was everything, and more, than described in the listing. Plenty of space for large family, the large porch was a plus and became the gathering spot for everyone. We had 1 rainy day and the porch let you relax and still feel the ocean air. Very easy walk to the beach and around town. Would highly recommend for family vacation.

Perfect maine Vacation

Fabulous house in perfect location

The house is cozy while there is plenty of room. Our favorite spots were relaxing in the sunroom while watching the boats in the harbor and reading in the large screen porch. House was spotless clean and everything you could need in the kitchen is provided. But of course the best part is the proximity to the beautiful beach. One minute walk to sitting on the sand watching the tides come in and out. One morning I got up at 5:30am and was rewarded with a spectacular sunrise! There is a general store around the corner (try a quart of blueberry ice cream) and a block further Tom’s lobster pound where we indulged our selves with two large lobsters, which they cooked for us. Sweetest lobster ever! Highly recommended!

Eleven Years and Counting

This is the eleventh year we've stayed at Russell Cove (4 generations for the past 3 years!) What's not to love about this place: the house, the cleanliness, the neighborhood, the corner store, the very short walk to the beach, the game room, the front porch, and the sunroom. Fantastic beach vacation!

The house was great, perfect for a family. We stayed with grandparents, and two families with children 6 and under. The beach was so close and easy to go back and forth for naps and lunch. The house was well stocked with general goods, all things needed for cooking, and had so many beach supplies as well! Our host was communicative and responded to questions/concerns quickly and thoroughly. We’re hoping to stay again soon!

Great Location - quaint property

Facility was fine although a bit dated and not as painted and updated as appears in Vrbo. Overall however, it was quite pleasant and the location is great! Easy to get to, close to the beach although quite a walk to get to an extensive walking beach but all was fine. The communication with the owner was great, very thoughtful and clear about all the details we needed. Front and back porches were very delightful and enjoyed by all. Overall, a nice place to spend a vacation in.

Amazing vacation home- will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at this home. It is very well stocked and comfortable. Lots of space and common rooms. Favorite spots were the big beautiful backyard, sun room with a view, and screened in front porch. The AC throughout the house was greatly appreciated as it did get hot during our stay! Love the proximity to the ocean (under 2 minute walk) and it is so close to the cute general store. Would recommend- great for families- we will be back!

HEAVEN on earth

Sara and Tom became family over 15+ years ago.. my mom rented for years every year for multiple weeks .. it was her Happy Place when mom passed it was many years later that I wanted to start a new Tradition at Russell Cove with my family step kid ds and grandchildren it was like going Home 💕 I missed Russell Cove more than I realized Heaven on earth were you can do everything or nothing at all and make memories that last for lifetimes 💕

Wonderful vacation as usual

This is our third year staying at the Russell Cove Cottege and we once again had a wonderful time. We will be booking again for next year for sure. The cottege is clean, stocked with all the stuff you need, has a great yard, close to the beach and with a view of the Saco River. We love it and will continue to rent hopefully for years to come.

PEACEFUL!

We were in Miane for a family wedding and this was a great place to be away from the hustle and bustle and have time to relax! At first we were concerned that the heat from the first floor would not make it to the second floor in the October cold but we soon find oursleves toasty warm on the second floor. Great place for walks and sight seeing! The owners were super responsive even when we accidentally locked our whole family out at night! Thanks for a Wonderful stay!

Amazing week in Camp Ellis

My friends and I had a great week staying at the house in Camp Ellis. The house is clean and litterally 50m from the beach. We enjoyed having our morning coffee on the vast porch, as well as making lobster dinner in the backyard. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

We are a professional couple who have two AWESOME adult children. Although we are spread across the U.S. now, we are each born and raised in Maine and we love our little coastal village. We go to great lengths to spend time together and Russell Cove Cottage is the absolute best place to enjoy family time. While our original 117 year old cottage was no longer able to accommodate vacationers due to age, we undertook a massive project to create a beautiful new 5BR/3Bath 2500+ sq ft home with bed/bath on both levels, a dedicated laundry room, brand new kitchen with lots of counter space, our legendary beautiful views, porch, sunroom, deck, covered lounge area, and gameroom. As always, we will provide most anything your family needs for an awesome vacation! We will continue to stock paper goods, linens, toys, beach supplies etc. We were very sad to say goodbye to the original Russell Cove Cottage and also thrilled to introduce the new and improved version which will provide a family friendly retreat for at least the next 117 years.

Relax in the shade with a cool drink in the heat of the day or venture out into the sun and play in the yard, or head down to the beach - just a one minute walk - with beach stroller and all the supplies you need for a great day on the ocean.
