About this property
Charming Home in Alberta Arts District - Walkable and Close to Downtown
Welcome home! This charming old Portland house is located just a few blocks from Alberta Arts District, with its shops, restaurants, bars, coffee, and more! This home is also across the street from Natural Grocers, food carts, and a pub. If you're in town to explore Portland, you likely won't need a car -- we are right on several bus lines. Sleeps up to 6 people.
The space is nicely appointed for your visit to Portland. The 3 bedrooms have comfortable queen beds beds with nice linens. There is a newly updated, fully stocked kitchen, a recently renovated bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower, and a washer and dryer in the unit. Tall ceilings, wood floors -- an old Portland home with a ton of character.
Here's a description of each room in the house so that you can get a better feel for it:
Entrance: From the porch, you'll enter a code and walk into a shared stairwell with the upstairs apartment. You'll then walk to your main floor apartment, type in your private code and enter.
Living room: Upon entering into the house, you will come into the living room. You'll see a dining table to your left, a large area rug in front of you, a comfy sofa & coffee table to your left, and a smart TV to your right. You'll also see the doorways to two of the three bedrooms.
Bedroom 1: To your immediate right, you'll enter bedroom 1, the most spacious bedroom with three windows that look out onto Webster Street. There is a large, cozy queen bed, dresser, and two night stands with lamps in this room.
Bedroom 2: Also to your right in the living room is bedroom 2. Bedroom 2 also has a nicely sized window, closet for hanging clothes, and a night stand with a lamp.
Kitchen: You'll then walk through the kitchen. This was recently updated just a few years ago with nice new flooring, cabinets and countertops. You'll see a full sized, stainless steel fridge, an electric oven, plenty of cabinets that are fully stocked with everything you need to cook. There's also a fun R2D2 crockpot ;-) . We provide coffee & tea, a coffee maker, a kettle, and basic pantry items.
Bedroom 3: To your right, you'll find bedroom 3. This bedroom is also fitted with a cozy queen bed and features a closet as well as a big window.
Laundry: From the kitchen, you'll also be able to access the little laundry room. There is a washer and dryer in here, free to use by you, with laundry soap provided.
Bathroom: Go through a hallway from the kitchen and you'll see three doors. One is a closet, one is an exit to the back of the house, and one is the bathroom. This bathroom was very recently renovated and has a gorgeous glass and tile walk-in shower. We provide towels as well as shampoo, conditioner, and soaps.

I have found over time that every VRBO is different and every guest’s expectations are different when they book a short term rental. It is my goal to make sure that I am as transparent as possible so that you can make an educated decision on your choice of where you would like to stay!
NOISE: No excessive noise. No parties. No yelling. Quiet hours are 10pm - 8am
SMOKING: No smoking anywhere on the property
CLEANING: Sometimes a cleaner does a poor job and it catches me (and you!) off guard. Please let me know if the cleaner missed something(s) important and allow me or the cleaner to come fix the issue. I assure you that I strongly value cleanliness and any lack of cleanliness is not on purpose.
OLD HOUSE: This apartment is located in an old Portland home. Old houses come with a lot of unique charm. However, they also tend to have issues that crop up – not out of negligence, but just out of simple wear and tear and age. You may hear creaky floors, squeaky doors, smell old house smells, find windows that are a bit funky to open, worn spots on the floor, etc. I try to address issues as quickly as they arise, but some issues are not going to be possible to address during your stay. When booking this unit you are acknowledging this reality and that you are not going to be met with a fancy new construction or brand new furniture. That being said, if there is something glaring that you notice, PLEASE tell me. I am not inside the apartment on a regular basis and I rely on cleaners to update me.
MULTI-UNIT HOUSE: This apartment has an apartment above and below it. As such, you will hear the normal noises of other tenants in the building. This may include: people walking, pets occasionally barking, muffled voices, muffled music, muffled TV noises, furniture being moved, the occasional thing being dropped on the floor. Please also keep aware and be respectful of the tenants below you. Wear socks inside, keep dogs from excessive barking, and keep quiet hours of 10pm - 8am. If you notice the other tenants causing excessive noise, especially during quiet hours, please let us know. If you would like us to send over a noise machine for your stay, please let us know. By booking this unit, you acknowledge this reality of potential noise.
IN A CITY: This apartment is in the "city" part of Portland and not so much the "neighborhoody" part. Expect street noises and other things that go along with bigger city-scapes. Also because it's an old house, the noise insulation isn't amazing.
PET POLICY: All pets must be approved in advance. You must confirm that the animal has no history of property destruction, indoor urination/defecation, aggression, or excessive noise. We expect you to have the animal with you or crated when you're not home. In order to maintain an allergen-low environment for other guests, we have our cleaners do deep cleans after every animal stays there and hire a carpet / upholstery cleaner if necessary. Any undisclosed pet will result in a large penalty.
FEES: Dogs and cats: 14 days or less: $100 // 15 days or more: $200. This fee does not cover any damages caused by the pet that result in excessive cleaning or repairs.
ESAs / Service animals: If you have an ESA animal please send us a copy of the paperwork including the letter from your healthcare provider. If you have a service animal trained to help you with a disability, we will be asking you the following legally allowable questions:
1) Is the service animal required because of a disability?
2) What work or task has the animal been trained to perform? (Your disability does *not* need to be disclosed)
