Secluded Bliss BirchTree Cabin with Indoor Hot Tub

Birch Tree Cabin is a secluded one bedroom cabin located just a few minutes from Historic downtown Ellijay.  This one-level cabin (just two easy steps and parking right at your front door)  is just what you need for that quiet weekend away.  The master bedroom offers a queen bed with flat screen TV and DVD player and access to a very cozy screened in porch.  The living room has a sleeper sofa facing a wood burning fireplace, another TV and DVD player and even a record player (WIFI too) and more access to the screened in porch. The flat screen can be enjoyed from the couch or the hot tub. The indoor hot tub room is quite unique with stone walls, floors and a sky light for natural lighting. There is a well-equipped kitchen for whipping up your favorite meals and a charcoal grill on the front porch. Central heating and air plus ceiling fans throughout to keep you comfortable.  
Conveniently located just west of downtown Ellijay, the last mile is gravel but no 4wd required, and only an hour from Atlanta and Chattanooga.  Shopping and restaurants are just five minutes away.  Everything from waterfalls to wineries with day trips to Blue Ridge, Dahlonega, Amicalola Falls State Park, Ocoee whitewater rafting, apple orchards and miles of hiking and biking trails all right in your back yard.

Cabin was secluded and private. Very quiet and relaxing. Not a place to stay if planning on going to and from often. Road is one lane and very rough even though you can travel in a car I would not recommend it. Enjoyed the indoor Hot tub but would not get very hot. Water pressure was not good. Table and chairs wobbled so bad I was afraid to sit in them. Cabin was as described in listing but I was expecting a little more for my money.

Quiet Hideaway

My husband and I had a nice, relaxing stay! Like previous commenters, a truck is best for navigating the rough roads, but cars can definitely make it! The neighbors are not too close, so it did feel secluded. The cabin is rustic and small, but it was perfect for the two of us! The bed is loud, but we slept fine! We would return again.

We do not recommend this place if you dontvlike moist, mildew like smells. Having a hot tub in the dining room with no proper ventilation makes home smell terrible. Home was not vleaned, back porch obviously not used for a long time, covered in 100s of webs, bugs & dirt. Very hard to find, rough roads to get there and trash all around outside of home.Dominic the owner/mgr was nice to let us check out esrly of our tume, it was very unhealthy for myself & hubby.

They gave me the incorrect code for the lockbox. There was no top sheet on the bed, nor any other sheets around to try to put on the bed, the mattress and topper was very uncomfortable, there was gross brown water that came out of the shower, and the hot tub buttons don’t work properly. The porch was filthy and there was a scorpion in the bathroom. When I told the host about all these things, Ijust got automated messages

Very Dissapointing

This cabin is dark and musty. Screened area dirty and not at all welcoming. Bed looked like linen was washed but difficult to tell as everything was wrinkled. We took our own pillows luckily as the ones there looked awful. Mistake in listing NO King bed even though property manager confirmed it was. Blinds cheap and not cleaned in years, overall a very sad cabin.

Very secluded cabin in the woods

This cabin is very secluded in the woods . The jacuzzi and back porch make this cabin . Nice little place for couples . A few things that should be noted …. A 4 wheel drive is necessary to get to this cabin ! We have been to numerous cabins in Elijay with my van and with little difficulty. Thank God we had my husbands truck to put in 4 wheel drive no way we would have gotten up there . Also the bed is very noisy and not so comfy . Also bring all necessities for yourself if staying g longer than 3 days . Paper towels , toilet paper , towels ect . Only enough for maybe 2 days ! Otherwise very relaxing

Quiet Get-Away

There were just a couple things that kept this stay from being absolutely perfect. Firstly the description said it had a charcoal grill, so we brought charcoal with us and got foods to grill out for our week’s stay. It was a propane grill, which would have been fine, but the tank had been left open and was empty. We cooked inside but if I had known that, I would have made different food choices. Then the monitor inside the door wouldn’t go past a screen stating something about WiFi. There were three towels in the bathroom and a basket of extra towels and washcloths, the basket of towels were wet and we had no way to dry them so the two of us had three towels to use all week between showering and the hot tub. The salt and pepper shakers were empty and there was only one garbage bag in the cans, so we had to use shopping bags to contain our trash. The small trash bin outside hadn’t been emptied after the last guest so there wasn’t much room for our trash. Most of these issues were probably due to the cleaning company though and not the owner. The cabin itself was everything we would have wanted. It was quiet and fairly easy to get to. We saw plenty of wildlife and were able to our enjoy vacation. Thanks!

Almost perfect.

Everything about this place is fantastic, the most relaxing rustic cabin with a great location. The hot tub inside the living area is perfect, the presentation, cleanliness, fireplace, furnishings, kitchen fixtures etc are spot on. Private, perfect spot for escaping the day to day. Hopefully the property owner replaces the rather worn mattress soon, it was the only flaw we experienced in our stay. Still gets 5 out if 5, anything less would be an injustice to an amazing property.

Very cute & clean property, but needs some TLC. No ice trays, bedroom door does not shut all the way (my husband & I go to bed & get up at different times), sliding glass doors are very hard to open & close, stove is very old & slow to heat up, never did get a signal on the TV. No dishwasher.

Wonderful Stay!

We were looking for a quiet and peaceful cabin in the woods and that is exactly what we found at Birch Cabin. Is the cabin perfect, no, but the few imperfections made it even more cozy. The drive in was a bit sketchy. One wrong turn and it got remote quickly. My small sedan struggled in a few spots. If you are particular about your car, a truck or suv would be better suited to get to the cabin. The cabin itself was beautiful! The back porch was my favorite. The mountain view was obstructed by trees, but that did not take away from the experience. It rained the morning of our departure and the serenity made it even harder to leave! There were a few issues, but nothing that was worth bothering the owner over. The dehumidifier drain line was clogged, so it had to be drained manually, but it wasnt a big deal. There is no ice maker or ice trays, so be prepared to buy ice. The water pressure is lacking, but thats to be expected in a remote area. The record player wouldn't work (or maybe we just couldn't figure it out!🙂). The floors could have been a bit cleaner, but a quick sweep remedied the issue. The hot tub was awesome! The furniture was super comfortable. The kitchen was functional and it was easy to cook in. The bed was comfortable as well! All in all, we had an amazing time and plan to book Birch Cabin again in the future! Thank you for sharing your home!

Really enjoyable and relaxing stay. Hot water was lacking and the provided driving instructions were a little out of date. Otherwise, great communication with property owner. We originally were told there was no tea kettle, but upon arrival one was provided. Would definitely stay again!

Good and the bad

The good. Isolated. Believe it, you can’t see another cabin from your porch. You can watch tv from the jacuzzi. Very quiet and a nice get away. Cabin was clean with no issues. All furniture was comfortable. Issues from maintenance was handled promptly. Any issues we had was addressed in a timely manner. The bad. Jacuzzi in the living room. Noisy and the smell of chlorine is constant. No handles on cabinet doors or bedroom. Weird and an issue. Some smell from the septic tank. It’s a great place but having a jacuzzi in the living room isn’t our cup of tea. Did not know that till I did it.
