This is a beautiful location and while so conveniently close to the freeway entrances, which should get you wherever you need to go quickly, it’s also at the mouth of big and little cottonwood Canyons, which have four ski resorts 20 to 30 minutes away and in my opinion, have the best mountains and best skiing in the country. Joan and Marc were quick to respond with any question or request I had and their place is tucked into a cottonwood Grove near stream and famous garlic burger from the historic and rustic dive bar with outdoor seating, called the Cotton Bottom. It’s 20 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City but it’s also 30 minutes in a different direction to Park city where I rode the Alpine coaster yesterday a few days ago, I went up the canyon right above Marc and Jones to Albion basin at Alta and had a picnic in the massive wildflower bloom. Cecret Lake was less than a mile walk. The small charming town of Holiday is just a four minute drive as well. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Wonderful week long stay close to the slopes

Everything about this unit was great....location, attentiveness to detail, amenities etc. Joan was gracious host and I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to be 20 to 30 min away from the ski slopes and still have access to all the conveniences of a big city.

Quiet, private getaway

We enjoyed our 17 day stay at the guesthouse! It was comfy and private in a beautiful neighborhood. The house was nicely equipped with everything you might need. Many interesting furnishings and decor from Mark & Joan’s travels. We would definitely stay again if we ever return to SLC!

Perfect ski getaway

This is the second time I have stayed at Mark and Joans guesthouse and there is a reason for it! Their guesthouse is spacious, clean, and filled with personal touches. Conveniently located by big and little cottonwood canyons, with plenty of things nearby for when you are finish your day on the mountain.

Warm and inviting home in great location

We had a great stay in this guesthouse! The bed was comfortable, kitchen was well-stocked, and the location was perfect. There are good restaurants within walking distance and the house is in a quiet neighborhood really close to the ski resorts but only 20 minutes from the airport. Joan was easy to work with and very responsive. Would definitely stay here again!
