Our well appointed, vibrantly hued, duplex home is only steps from the private pool and the sugar-white sandy beaches of the Gulf coast. Located just off the heart of Gulf Shores on West Beach, we are uniquely positioned for both uncrowded beaches AND easy access to all Gulf Shores/ Orange Beach has to offer. Shopping, dining, entertainment, grocery, and more are within 2 miles. Tennis & golf are a short distance as well. Water's Edge is truly the perfect location for both relaxation and adventure.

WatersEdge offers a professionally decorated yet relaxing oasis. You will enjoy the custom bedding and window treatments, 450+ TC sheeting, turkish towels, tasteful new furniture, and many other wonderful touches making your stay more luxurious than ever.

Rest and tranquility are yours in our non-smoking home featuring 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Two bedrooms are located downstairs. One is a master with King-sized bed while the other features a Queen-sized bed. Upstairs hosts 3 more spacious bedrooms. Two are masters with King-sized beds and one is a bunk room. Our bunk room hosts a twin-over-twin and a custom full-over-queen. The latter was built with adults in mind and is appropriate for both adults and/or kids. The two first floor bedrooms each share an adjoining bath, as do two of the three upstairs bedrooms. The third upstairs bedroom is a King and also features a large private bath and private balcony overlooking the Gulf. A Queen sleeper sofa, in the living area, provides additional sleeping flexibility. All five bedrooms are equipped with a TV for your comfort. The living room boasts a 42' flat panel TV, DVD and VCR to ensure movie/game night is a hit! Enjoy the stereo - or bring your Ipod for the docking station and enjoy your own custom musical selections. For those times you need to be in touch with the outside world, WiFi is available for your use.

Your fully equipped kitchen, with eat-in bar, flows into the sunny dining area and then on to your open living area. This large public space allows socializing and togetherness for the entire group. The custom dining table accomodates 10, with 4 more seats at the breakfast bar, making dining together a refreshing reality. Off the living area, your deck overlooks the large private pool shared only with your neighbor. At 32' X 16' in size, everyone can enjoy this wonderful amenity...regardless if your playing water games, or merely basking on a raft. Watch the kids from your deck during the day or join them - just one flight below - on your spacious poolside deck. From either vantage point, the panoramic views are unforgettable. Sunrise and sunset are not to be missed!

Extending beyond the edge of your pool is a ribbon of white sand bordering the blue waters of the Gulf. For your convenience, we have an outdoor shower just off the beach as you enter the pool.

We have amenities such as beach chairs, umbrellas, and assorted pool/beach toys for use during your stay. For small children we have a pack-n-play, booster seat, high-chair - fewer things for you to pack. Older kids will enjoy the XBOX, board games, videos and books.

Great place! HIGHLY recommend!

Mary helped my family out when we ran into an issue and needed a different place to stay in Gulf Shores. The property was in a beautiful location, check-in was simple, the home was very clean and spacious, and had a well-stocked kitchen. It was a perfect "home away from home" with a beautiful view and a great pool! Thanks for everything, Mary!

Family Fun Beach Trip

The property is just as described. The owner was very prompt in retuning text messages or phone calls when I needed her. Very enjoyable week. Because of COVID-19 we did not go out to eat but picked it up at local restaurants or cooked at the house. There are plenty of pots and pans and also dishes to stay in and not have to go out. There were also plenty of toys for all the kids in our group, from 2 years old to 15. The house is right on the beach so we didn’t have far to walk to the water. It is also within walking distance to other things such as the ice cream shop and seafood restaurants.

Family Beach Time

We stayed at Watersedge for a week and are still basking in the glow of our relaxing time together. We have stayed many other places in the Gulf Shores/Fort Morgan area, but my family enjoyed this home in particular for several reasons: the location is perfect..not too far from any access to restaurants and fun, but also the home itself is the most comfortable! The kitchen is the most well-stocked we have ever seen, the beds are dreamy comfortable, the access to the beach, though in an area one might assume to be crowded was very uniquely quiet and private (partially due to off season) and the 16x32 pool is a gem! The owner is one of the most easy-going, welcoming people and her instructions and ease of rental were all timely and accurate! Three vehicles can be accommodated in the covered area without any concern. The beach toys, umbrella, water chairs, boogie boards and floats are so numerous, we needed nothing...There are plenty of pool loungers, chairs and accommodations are kid friendly with games for those times our grandsons just wanted to chill. Our neighbors were the best and there was no noise between the two homes even with stairs and adjoining balconies. The bathrooms are strategically placed for easy access, and she has the thickest, most absorbent towels, plentifully arranged! The upstairs large bedrooms are quiet and extremely comfortable. Several naps were enjoyed by our early risers! We have beautiful memories, beautiful pictures and saw some beautiful sunrises directly from our balconies. We saw dolphins swim by a couple of times and enjoyed watching the occasional jogger, beach combers, walkers, small children and paddle boarders go by. I would HIGHLY recommend this property and we are grateful for the relaxing and fully stocked accommodations this property afforded our family! Oh and a nice surprise was the NFL channel for our football lovers in the family! Great times...thank you MMM...your place is a BIG HIT!

We had a great time at this house. Plenty of sleeping room. Loved having both beach and pool access. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for the week. The owners went above and beyond to solve a problem for us.

Didn’t know we had to share the pool

We did have to share the pool but the neighbors we had were cool. Especially because of Covid. I had 2 18 year olds and 1 16 year old and all their friends stayed at a condo 2 miles up the beach. This place was a bit overpriced in my opinion. It was just okay…. Out dated. Expected a little better for what we paid.

Relaxing family and beach time

The stay was quiet and relaxing - just what we needed this year! Mary Martha was very responsive and helpful. The sand is so soft at this beach. We had a lovely Thanksgiving and a beautiful celebration of life for my father in law. Thank you Mary Martha.

Great location but overall stay was just okay

We showed up the first day to a green pool. All the other houses around us had sparkling blue pools, but unfortunately we were unable to use the pool for 2 days of our stay. Mary Martha was mostly responsive during our stay but responses often took some time. The WiFi has speed and availability similar to dial up. Great location and proximity to the beach though!

Great house and location

I stayed there for 2 weeks over the last week of June / 4th of july / leaving July 11. Cannot ask for a better location and you are literally right on the beach and it is not crowded. The 4th was so much fun and so many houses did fireworks over the beach. The pool has a a rotating schedule and is cleaned 2 times a week so felt very comfortable sharing that with the adjoining house. The house is fully stocked and the A/C works really well. The only suggestion would be that if you like to sleep in, I would bring an eye mask. The sun comes up really early and while the rooms all have shades, they are not enough to keep the sun out. There is also a recycling center on 59 and is 20 minutes from the house. Super easy to use. Mary Martha was great to work with and super responsive on any questions or repairs that were needed. I would definitely recommend the property and stay there again.

Family vacation 2020

This was a great place to stay during the pandemic. We shared the pool with people on the other side of the duplex.. there was a rotating schedule that worked very well for all of us. The house was large enough that even with 2 days of bad weather the grandchildren had plenty of place to play in the house and the grownups didn’t feel like they were all over us. The house is the best stocked place we have ever stayed, linens, kitchen supplies, etc. We were right on the beach with only the pool between the house and the beach. Everyone had a great time. Mary was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Would highly recommend this house as a vacation spot. Thanks

Gulf Shores Much Needed Getaway!

My family and I can't say enough about our recent trip to Gulf Shores. After months of isolation in Michigan, or trip to GS and this amazing property was everything we need for the mind and body. The location is top notch, just away from the "busy" part of the island, but just a stone's throw away (great restaurants, ice cream, stores). Plus, are you kidding me with a beautiful pool outside your door? To top it off the ocean is less than 75 yards from the house. The space is fantastic. 2 bedrooms on the main floor, and 3 bedrooms upstairs. Including a bunk room that my kids loved, that sleeps up to 6-8 kids if needed. The decks (from the master bedroom and off the living room) offer an amazing breeze where you can enjoy your morning coffee or a cocktail at sunset. Kitchen is perfect for what you need, DirecTV in every room, Strong Wi-Fi, Washer & Dryer, Parking for 4 cars, Storage room with beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, etc. We can not say enough about this place. We loved it so much, we spent 2 weeks there! To top it off, the owner Mary Martha is off the charts hospitable and accessible if needed. If there's anything you need, she's all over it! We never been treated better by anyone we've ever rented from in the years of doing beach houses. You'll love Gulf Shores, and you'll really love this house. It has everything you need, in the best beach town in America! Thank you Mary Martha!!!

Fantastic stay!

What a wonderful property. This home is spacious, well appointed and clean, relaxing and happy in decor - but it goes well beyond that. Sometimes a vacation can be work. Not so here! Large oceanfront pool is beautiful overlooking the beach and ocean. No need to go further. House amenities allow for easy fun onsite and location is minutes to heart of town. Restaurants and options for shopping. Plenty of outdoor sporting opportunities if you have an explorer/adventurer in your group. Bike and kayak rentals will deliver to house! If I have a rainy day when I come back, I’m going to try the Arts Center glass-blowing class! Owner was patient and generous with information to connect us to points of interest. Good communication too. Thanks, Mary Martha - we will be back!

Fabulous Beach Vacation Home

This property was exactly what I was hoping to find and is the perfect spot for a multi-generational gathering. The location is convenient to everything. The beach and property are just beautiful.. The dolphins patrolling the waterline in the morning and evening are such a wonderful sight. Having definitely found our spot on the beach we plan to come back with the crew

I'd go back again!

Choosing a rental home can be risky - - well, have no fear if you are here. WatersEdge met or exceeded everything you have read in the description. My extended family just returned from a week of beach & pool fun, and we have already given WatersEdge as a recommendation to our friends. Everything in this home was clean upon arrival. Rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. We loved the easy access back and forth from house/pool to the beach . The beach was never crowded (compared to beach in front of the condos) and felt like our own private oasis! The location is a quick drive (5-10 minutes) to a multitude of restaurants and shops - and the young folks in our group actually walked to bars/music/lunch several times. We prefered to walk across the street to the ice cream shop! Eating out is fun, but we used the grill to prepare several yummy dinners, and the kitchen was equiped with everything we needed. WatersEdge has 2 AC units so the temperature inside was always comfortable on both levels. The "pool guy" comes twice a week so it was kept clean. And Most Importantly (because you never know what can happen)- the owner, Mary Martha, responds quickly to calls and texts and she takes pride in keeping this a beautiful home. There are many extras provided nearby too - - my sons rented a paddleboard, and others got kayaks (rentals provided drop off and pick up at the house). A few in our group chartered a boat for a very successful day of fishing. If you want beautiful photos taken at sunset on the beach - I recommend "Shore Shooters" - they took them right in front of WatersEdge and our family was pleased. Suggestions for your trip : bring kites and a game called "KanJam"- had a blast with both of those. However, need to say, that if you brought nothing along , you would have plenty here to enjoy a wonderful beach vacation!

Wonderful Escape

My extended family had such a wonderful experience staying at WatersEdge. The home itself was wonderful...relaxing and calm, while at the same time happy and vibrant. The space was good for our crew, and it was well supplied with everything we needed. Life was certainly both easy and enjoyable during our stay. I sat on one of the decks every morning with coffee and watched the dolphins. I saw more of them from my chair than I have seen on some dolphin cruises I have been on! It was truly a joy. The kids in our family loved the freedom of being right on the beach. They quickly established a circuit which repeated throughout each carefree day: beach, ocean, pool...repeat. This made life great for us all. It was wonderful to have our meals together at the large table. We played games there as well some of the evenings. The picnic table and porch swing under the house offered an outdoor dining alternative, as well as a shady spot for my reading during the day. The home is perfectly located. If you want to visit a local restaurant, shop, or grocery, you are a very short drive away....one can even a walk to a couple of spots. There is a fresh seafood market a short walk away. If you prefer to catch your own (or at least have fun trying), the boat launch for the bay behind this home is but 1/4 mi away. It offers a great place to fish from the bank, or take in the birds & other wildlife. A local rental spot was dropping off kayaks for another group while we were there. We spotted hermit crabs right off the bank, which thrilled the children! I highly recommend a stop here. Another spot for fishing, or "walking the plank" as our family's young pirate aficionado called it... is the nearby Gulf Shores Pier. It is a short drive up the beach and offers a great novel outing opportunity. The strong breeze kept us comfortable the afternoon we went. It you are more adventurous, there are all sorts of things to do nearby. One thing I noticed, in particular, was a fun-looking zip-line course. Alas, one has to leave something for next time....and we will be back! Perhaps some of our group will explore some of the adventure opportunities offered. I will once again stakeout my serene spot on the deck or beach and luxuriate in that! We could not ask for a better experience in this property, or with the owner. Wonderful Family vacation

We stayed at Watersedge from Aug 9-Aug 16. Everything was exactly as the description and pictures said it would be and then some! The kitchen was fully stocked, the rooms were very spacious and comfortable for our group of 5 adults and 6 kids, and the pool was a wonderful amenity. We absolutely loved having our own beach space and not have to fight for beach real estate at 6:00 am which has been our experience in the past when staying at a high rise condo scenario. The best descision we made during our stay was to rent kayaks from a local company for the week. Every morning we would go out in the kayaks around 10:00 am and just wait for them to swim by and kayak with them. There were times we were as close as 5-8 ft away from a pod of dolphins. This was such an incredible experience and the highlight of our trip. We also saw huge sea turtles when we were our in the kayaks. We snorkeled and found starfish and sand dollars right up the beach from the house. I would highly recommend watersedge to anyone for a great family vacation. It was a pleasure to work with the owner who was extremely helpful and always very quick to respond with any questions that came up.

The perfect Gulf Shores family vacation spot!

My family of 5 plus my parents, in-laws, and sister-in-law and her family of 5 visited Gulf Shores in June and stayed at WatersEdge. It was our dream vacation and perfect in every way! It met all of our requirements: beautiful and easy beach access, private pool, and plenty of room for the whole family to enjoy our time together as well as spread out a little. Our entourage totaled 8 adults and 6 children from 5-11. The house was perfect and exceeded our needs. It was beautifully decorated and the location couldn't be beat! The house is very near amenities such as dining, sight-seeing and attractions, but far enough away from the high rises and crowds. It was everything we had hoped it would be and the rental process was easy and smooth. Thanks Mary Martha and WatersEdge for making our family vacation as fun and as comfortable as possible!

I grew up vacationing with my family in Gulf Shores. We looked forward to our summer vacation all year and counted the days between the end of school and the day we would pile in the brown station wagon for the 12 hour adventurous drive to the Gulf. My brothers and I would spend magical days digging holes in the sand, creating sand castle villages, flying kites, running the beach, and splashing in the buoyant and warm waters of the Gulf. At that time, there was a giant swing on the beach and I was convinced you could touch the sky if you tried hard enough... I definitely gave it my best! By the time dusk fell, the smell of shrimp boiling or fresh fish baking assured big appetites and tired kids. However, not wanting to miss a single moment of our week, we would always hold out for a post-dinner stargazing session or a night-time "crab hunt" with flashlights on the beach. I had so much fun with my parents and siblings during those days. The memories will stay with me forever and provides a great comfort to me "several" decades later.
Flash forward to 2007 and another stage of life entirely. A dear friend shared with me the "great find" she and her husband had uncovered. A beautiful beach.... all the modern amenities one could want... yet not overly crowded like some of the FL beaches she had visited. Had I ever hear of Gulf Shores, AL?!
That friend went on to purchase a property in Gulf Shores... and my husband & I (two young kids in tow) spent a good deal of time with them there. It wasn't long before we knew we also had to find our own spot to share. We looked long and hard for the perfect combination of city and country.... a location with activities for multi-generational families. in a setting that maintains tranquility for all.

Why they chose this property

Watersedge embodies all the qualities needed for family members of all ages to enjoy time together. Our location allows for grocery/shopping/dining/adventure activities...an outing at Scoops Ice Cream... without long drives. Walk just down the street for the best place to see hermit crabs, bird watch, or put a kayak in the bay. The property is private yet perfectly sociable. The vibe is of carefree days with your own slice of beachfront. The sheer luxury of time and space in this backdrop allows for deep relaxation and fun for all ages. Parents can watch their kids from one of the balconies as they roam the beach. The refreshment of going from the beach to the ocean to our freshwater pool, means extended outside time during daylight hours. Although we have speedy Internet, you might find yourself pulling out the board or card games after an awesome meal, around a table that can accommodate the whole crew. The crabs can still be spotted at night as they scurry along the beach. Pods of lights... and the giggles that accompany them, can be heard from our decks. Catch them if you can... but please remember to release them so they can be there for another generation of kids!
