The Coach House was in an absolutely idyllic setting with wonderful views. The local walks were amazing. The Coach House itself was beautifully presented and had everything we needed. Would highly recommend this accommodation and location.

We go back year after year because we love the area and The Coach House is perfect for us. Recently re-vamped, it provides just what we need for us and our dog(s). Plenty to do within walking distance or a short drive away but go equipped for cold or wet weather, the sun doesn't always shine!

This was our 6th visit. Once again we enjoyed the comfort of the cottage as a base for local walks. Although it was a wet week, we walked each day. We enjoyed the friendly welcome at the Bottom Ship and The Castle in Porlock. Already booked again for next year. As usual there was a friendly welcome.

A comfortable well-equipped holiday home in a good location. Porlock Weir is a picturesque village. The Bottom Ship provides a handy local supplying pub grub and is just a downhill walk from the Coach House so you don't need to worry about parking although it is a steep walk home! There is a cafe, noodle bar and two hotels and a small shop. There are more day-to-day facilities in Porlock village itself.

A Cosy Getaway with Beautiful Views

I had a most enjoyable stay at The Coach House over Christmas . Clean and well-maintained with lovely stunning sea views; I found it cosy, relaxing and well-equipped. It was just a short stroll to the pretty harbour where there are a couple of shops, a hotel open to non-residents, a pub and restaurant. A bus takes in Porlock Village and Minehead. I enjoyed glorious walks along the coast, through woodlands and across the fabulous moorland of Exmoor (easy to find the ponies but deer-spotting needs an eagle eye). I most definitely recommend this property which had the further benefit of being able to park securely right outside the front door.

Booking is easy and the response time is very impressive. The price was a bonus. Very very fair and considerate of the owners as most places would have charged double. The view is fabulous, overlooking the lovely garden and out to the bay. The Coach House is significantly bigger downstairs than The Stable Block and we loved being there. We have had a very comfortable stay, waking and settling to the sound of the sea and star gazing through the skylights. Parking can be a bit tricky( best to reverse in so you can go out forwards) but when you are in there's more space. The time lapse on the gates is short but once the car is through (or if someone is standing in the way) then a sensor will stop the gates closing. The area is lovely and Porlock Weir is very special.

Lovely cottage with beautiful views and everything you need from a cottage for a weeks holiday. Everything as described on the website. Very peaceful location. Lots of walks to explore from the front door but also ideally situated for day trips out to explore Exmoor. Local pub (The Ship) only five mins walk if you don't fancy cooking. We had a thoroughly enjoyable week away.

Enjoy! As many times before we found the Coach House a really relaxing place to stay. The walks are superb, Horner Water is a must, we managed both West and East Waters this time. There is no need to drive miles to find places to visit. We find it a bit hot at night and always take a sheet to use with the blanket supplied rather than the duvet.
