About this property
Inviting timber frame cabin in Vermont's Green Mountains
Open year round, Robert Frost Mountain Cabins offers 7 fully furnished, artisan-crafted timber frame cabins at a picturesque & secluded setting in the Green Mtn National Forest. It's a getaway of rustic charm and contemporary comforts!
Cabin #3 - Blackberry Bend provides a lovely mountain view from it's back deck and is located just steps from our Trillium Trail - a meandering path through the forest. In the summer, plentiful wild blackberries grow amidst the old stone walls.
In our common area, a.k.a. The Loft, you'll have access to DVD's, books, games, TV, exercise equipment, trail maps/guides and area information. We also invite you to explore and enjoy our trails, campfire pit, berry bushes, raised strawberry beds, frog pond and sledding hill.
After a day of exploring, our outdoor hot tub overlooking the Green Mountains soothes your tired muscles and is open 24x7.
Complimentary laundry facilities, just a short walk from your cabin, are always accessible.
In addition:
- Free wi-fi is available in your cabin and common areas.
- Firewood is complimentary and plentiful.
- Charcoal grills are located at each cabin
- Complimentary snowshoes and sleds are available in a variety of sizes and styles.
Nestled on 112 acres in the Green Mountain National Forest, Robert Frost Mountain Cabins are located "off the beaten path" on a well maintained gravel road in quaint Ripton, VT - summer home of renowned poet, Robert Frost. Our half mile long driveway is just long enough to leave your cares behind. The cabins are also just a short drive from the beautiful village of Middlebury (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) - home to Middlebury College. The college's downtown and Bread Loaf campuses are both less than 10 miles away. And the town has something for everybody - museums, historic sites, restaurants, music, art, shopping, Tasting Trail, hiking trails and more. For outdoor enthusiasts, nearby trails, ski centers, rivers and lakes offer an abundance of fun recreational opportunities throughout the year.
We live on the property and will be here to make sure that all of your needs are met. Forgot charcoal? We've got it. Want help choosing a hiking trail? We're happy to give you first hand advice. Looking for a place to get local meats or produce? We know the best places! But we also respect your privacy and recognize that you may just be here for peace and quiet, solitude or quality time together. We won't be offended if you just want time alone.
Please note that the 43" UHD Smart TV in your cabin is provided for DVD viewing or streaming from your own account. The TV in our common area, The Loft, offers DVD viewing and streaming from our account.
Our well insulated cabins have been designed with both comfort and energy efficiency in mind. Each cabin has a high-efficiency split-system heating/air conditioning unit to provide our guests with year-round comfort.
If you'd like a wheelchair accessible cabin, please search for our Owl's Branch cabin.
If you'd like a pet-friendly cabin, please search for either our Serene Outlook, Owl's Branch or Hemlock Hideaway cabins. Our pet fee is just $15/night for each pet (2 pet maximum).
