Private SLO Retreat - Bishop Peak Views, Near Cal Poly, Downtown & Wineries
Welcome to Homestead on Collados — Your Peaceful Getaway in San Luis Obispo with views of Bishop Peak
Why guests love staying here:
- Bishop Peak views from patio - Minutes to Edna Valley wineries - Quiet, peaceful neighborhood - Outdoor dining + relaxing backyard - Close to Cal Poly
Escape to a peaceful San Luis Obispo retreat with stunning Bishop Peak views right outside your door. Enjoy morning coffee on the patio as the hills light up, unwind in the backyard after a day of wine tasting, and experience the perfect balance of quiet neighborhood charm and easy access to downtown, Cal Poly, and the Central Coast.
Set in one of San Luis Obispo’s most peaceful neighborhoods, our home is a bright, inviting home perfectly positioned for relaxation and exploration. Directly across the street, a quiet pocket park borders miles of open space, offering beautiful Bishop Peak views right from the front patio and windows.
Our street is wonderfully calm, with very little traffic — a great place for kids to safely roam, play, and explore. The fenced backyard offers an outdoor dining area ideal for family meals, barbecues, or simply enjoying the coastal air. The semi-fenced front patio provides another peaceful spot to lounge with a book, a conversation, or a glass of wine.
Inside the Home Homestead on Collados is 3 bedrooms + an open loft and 3 full bathrooms, thoughtfully arranged to comfortably accommodate families and groups.
Primary Bedroom: Queen bed with full en-suite bathroom (tub/shower combo)
Upstairs Loft: A spacious, open-concept retreat with a king bed and private full bathroom (shower). Please note the loft has no door but offers excellent space and privacy otherwise.
Two Additional Bedrooms: Each with a full-size bed—cozy, calm, and perfect for kids or additional guests.
Floors: Hardwood throughout the home, lending charm and warmth (and a little shared sound, as wood floors do).
Location, Location, Location You’re wonderfully close to everything:
~1 mile to Irish Hills Open Space (miles of stunning hiking and biking trails)
~1 mile to a local coffee shop, grocery store, restaurants, and more
~4 miles to Cal Poly
Walkable to a middle school with a dirt running track, soccer/football fields, basketball, baseball, tennis, and handball courts
~4 miles (bike-able!) to Downtown SLO — full of award-winning restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, bars, farmers markets, and the historic Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa
Within 15 miles of some of the Central Coast’s most beautiful beaches and wineries.
Comfort & Climate As with most SLO homes, ours does not have air conditioning, but our coastal climate stays moderate most of the year. There are ceiling fans in each bedroom and, during warmer months, we provide a fan and small air conditioning unit in the loft upstairs to keep spaces comfortable.
A Note About Noise San Luis Obispo has a very strict noise ordinance. This home is best suited for guests seeking a peaceful stay rather than loud gatherings, outdoor music, or parties. Our neighborhood is genuinely lovely — thank you for helping us keep it that way.
We Love This Home — And We Hope You Do Too Homestead on Collados is a place to unwind, reconnect, and enjoy everything the Central Coast offers. We’ve poured so much love into this home and hope it becomes a restful, memorable part of your travels.
No smoking of any kind is allowed in the home or on the property.

Our family felt warmly welcomed by hosts Courtney and Ken. The location was quiet and conveniently located to most attractions. Our hosts gave many great recommendations for places to enjoy on the Central Coast. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!

Delighted that you all had such a wonderful time! We feel so lucky to get to live here! Thank you for being such lovely guests.
Cute home with beautiful front and back yards. This place is conveniently located to enjoy downtown SLO, Pismo Beach and Morro Bay. We had our dog with us and he enjoyed playing in the backyard and running around in the school grounds down the street. The neighborhood is friendly and the weather was great. Overall, a very relaxing long weekend.

We're so glad you (and your dog :)) enjoyed your stay! We feel so lucky to live in this beautiful place. It brings even more joy to get to share it with others. Thank you for the review!
Great Location and comfortable home for exploring SLO
This home is extremely comfortable and well stocked with basic amenities. Courtney and Ken are extremely communicative and were very easy to get in touch with. We were showing the area to our niece/cousin who is interested in Cal Poly, and the home was a terrific central location for getting to campus, downtown, Montano de Oro state park, Pismo Beach, and I'm sure other nearby attractions we didn't have the chance to explore. Courtney has a great list of recommendations for local activities I would endorse as well.

We feel so honored to be able to host and this is one of the many reasons why: getting to be home for a few days while people figure out if this is where they will live and learn for college. We're so grateful we got to host you all!
Courtney and Ken - You're home was perfect! It had everything we could need. We loved the photos of your beautiful family. Location is awesome. Close to everything, yet you felt like you were outside the city limits with the beautiful picture window in the front that looked out at the beautiful mountains and park area. Your neighborhood is quiet, and you had the perfect backyard for our Westie, who loved looking and visiting your chickens. You don't need to add or change anything.
Thank you so much for sharing . . . Yvonne and Jim

We are so glad you stayed at our home and had such a lovely experience! You were the most fantastic guests. All the best! Courtney and Ken
Nice decor and amenities, fenced in backyard with string lights, and an easy check in process (except that the instructions in the pdf differed from the listing, which was initially confusing). Great central location in a safe neighborhood, and only a short drive from restaurants downtown. Dog-friendly property too! The upstairs bedroom is a loft, so no door and noise travels easily. The upstairs bathroom has very low ceilings so showering was difficult for an adult of average height. Additionally, the extra cleaning fees seemed steep compared to other properties, so take that into consideration as this will affect your budget. Overall, this home fit our requirements of being close to downtown and open to children/dogs and we had a wonderful stay, however the layout of the home wasn't ideal for containing noise.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for the feedback, we will make sure to update our listing description accordingly. Hope to have you stay with us again sometime! -Courtney and Ken
The house and gardens are lovely in the casual style of Joanna Gaines. We felt at home from the moment we stepped inside the bright, comfortable and well appointed interior. The kitchen is full of quality appliances and colorful Le Creuset cookware. It was an excellent choice for cooking Thanksgiving Dinner. There's so much to do in the area - beaches, parks, shopping - but one could be quite happy in this neighborhood with views of the lake and mountains and a nice backyard for the pups to play plus a henhouse where we collected eggs.

We feel so lucky to be able to rent out our home. People like you make the whole experience that much more lovely. It was such an honor to host you and your adorable pups! I hope our paths cross again in the future!
The property was better than expected. It had all the amenities of home - good beds, equipped kitchen, and plenty of seating for good conversations. The outdoor patio was much larger than expected and was a nice private courtyard. The chickens were so adorable and didn't bother us at all. The neighborhood is quiet with easy access to everywhere - spent most of our time at Cal Poly and downtown SLO and everything was 10min away. We will stay there again.
