Views, views, views - The home is a rustic Redwood Valley home that offers 3+ bedrooms (3 upstairs bedrooms) with a den downstairs (futon). There is a hot tub overlooking the views of Redwood Valley, next to a separate laundry/changing room that includes a camp style shower. An above ground pool is great on the warm summer days. 1,200 sq feet of porches on both levels offer great outdoor space for sunning, eating, and relaxing. And now you can rent your own private vacation home and/or your own private 3 acres campsite all on 40 acres located less than 15 minutes to restaurants, bars, groceries, and casino. Go explore Humboldt and Trinity counties from the centrally located property or don't leave, and take in the breathtaking views of Redwood Valley. Fishing, canoeing and jet boat trips are an options, as rivers, lakes, lagoons are all an easy drive. Located just outside of Blue Lake, CA. The Mad River (Blue Lake) is 15 minutes from the property and offers relaxation in the sun and water plus great seasonal fishing! The Trinity River is only 20 miles east and is a popular winter time destination for world-class fishing and sun worshiping in the summer. The Eel, Klamath and even the Smith river are within driving distance too. The towns of Arcata and Eureka are only 25+ minutes away for exploring. Beaches and airports are within 25+ minutes as well. Amazing getaway

This property is amazing with spectacular views! The home and 'camp' area are beautiful , clean and so comfortable. The host's M & S are wonderful people and very helpful. We will definitely be back soon.

Family Christmas Vacation 2023

We loved our stay in Blue Lake! The home was large and so comfortable - perfect for our family gathering: we all felt so at home. The home was well stocked with everything we needed. We loved the authentic, rustic, vintage decor. The property is beautiful with spectacular views! The hosts were so easy to communicate with, they made it so easy to book, as well as check-in & out. We'll definitely be back for another stay!

Spectacular and comfortable piece of paradise

Matt’s place is truly spectacular - perfect for families or groups of friends. Stocked with anything you may need and with incredible views, the house is a wonderful retreat. So comfortable and full of special touches - this place is in easy driving distance to beaches and the glorious redwoods and much more. Matt and his wife were the best hosts. Cozy country home

We had an incredible time at Matt and Shandras home. It’s charming and cozy but really the show stopper is the views. Everywhere. We loved the proximity to day trips and everything suggested by the hosts was incredible. We came with a lot of children and felt so comfortable in this family home. Watching our kids all play baseball on the lawn was beyond dear. We enjoyed Matt and Shandra so much they felt more like family than hosts.

WOW! Just doesn't do it justice...

We are so torn as to whether to tell EVERYONE or tell NO ONE! The pictures don't in any way do this property justice LET ALONE the view! The house is superbly and lovingly crafted so that there are breath taking views from every window! Imagine laying in bed and enjoying the stars!! The owners were a joy to work with and helpfully anticipated every possible need! The list of amenities goes on and on! We can't wait to go back and when our friends and family see the pictures, I fully anticipate that they will insist on joining us! Lucky for us, this property can accommodate (having two additional rentals on site)!

Family visit

Beautiful property, exactly as described. We spent a week with family here, adults, infant, and teens. Views were breathtaking, and the property was so peaceful. The owners were friendly and welcoming did a wonderful job giving us all the up front info we needed, meeting us at check in - on our timeline, and communicating just enough. Very comfortable beds, clean and comfortable linens. Notes for possible future guests - The description doesn’t promise that anything is brand new, and nothing is brand new. It all works just fine - and is even pretty interesting to get to use some of the actual antiques, such as a stove from the 1930s. Also, we had one elderly guest (75) with us, and she had a bit of a hard time with the steps - the spacing and handrail locations were a bit different than typical steps. Fortunately there was a room with a futon downstairs, so she just settled in there and limited her use of the steps. Overall we were incredibly satisfied with this stay. It was well worth the price, and had some really special features that will be memories forever. I’d absolutely stay again if I were to travel here in the future.

Let me start by saying, look no further-this is the one you want! No shortage of things to keep the kids occupied, breathtaking views, and we left with two new friends…the hosts are amazing. I’ve stayed a lot of places, traveled the world, and am a host myself and can say places like this are why home-sharing started. Places that are managed by the actual owners are always the best. This one’s a gem. 💝🌲

A little piece of heaven

I can’t say enough about how awesome our stay was at Matt and Shandra’s place. They were such amazing hosts from the moment we booked the stay until days after we left. They went the extra mile with all communications and kindness. The property is so beautiful and the cabin is gorgeous with so many personal touches. We all had so much fun. There was a total of 11 of us on a family trip and we all felt at home for the entire visit. The views are spectacular. The wrap around porches with plenty of chairs to enjoy the breathtaking views, the outdoor speakers, the hot tub, ping pong table, outdoor pool, corn hole game and even watching the bunnies and lizards on the property all added to the experience. We all had so much fun we didn’t want to leave. Thank you to both Matt and Shandra for sharing your place with us and making us feel so welcome! We all had a blast!

Our friends and family had a wonderful time staying here for our 10 year anniversary and vow renewal. The photos in the listing honestly don't do the property justice. The hosts were very accommodating and communicative, and even went out of the way to ship us a few personal items that we accidentally left behind. I hope we will get to stay there again!

Beautiful retreat

We deeply enjoyed the beauty of the land, birds, and trees, and many hot tub and pool soaks! It was the perfect location for a time of reunion and reconnecting. The porches, the windows, the beautifully decorated space were all such a gift. We felt nourished and refreshed after our stay! Matt was extremely attentive before we arrived and throughout the retreat. We felt well cared for and look forward to returning!

Graduation weekend

This property is very private and has a beautiful view. The owners are such a pleasure and made sure we were all set. Very homey and comfortable. There was only one full bath and a half bath in the house, which was fine. Lovely home and the owners had everything we needed to have a great stay.

Amazing house with breathtaking views

My family and I came up for a short trip. Matt and Shandra met us at the house and showed us around when we first arrived. The house is even more amazing in person….breathtaking! For me and my family the property was everything we could have wanted and more. There was a family emergency during our stay, Matt and Shandra were so helpful and supportive during that time. I’d say they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of!! We still got to enjoy all the outdoor games, listen to music, bbq and relax in the hot tub. I’ll definitely be coming back again!!!!

An absolute amazing stay with every possible amenity one could ask for. The owners were lovely and kind, the view was impeccable, and the house had style out the wazoo.
