Pacific Overlook: Private, Spacious Home With Panoramic Ocean View

Located at land’s end, in a very private area just 2 miles south of the town of Trinidad sits the Pacific Overlook vacation home. Tucked beneath a forest of coastal pines and eucalyptus, this extremely generous and spacious 4-bedroom, 2-bath home sits at the edge of a coastal bluff overlooking Camel Rock and the Luffenholtz Beach area of Trinidad.

This one-owner home was built in the late 1990’s and features unique, hand-crafted furniture created by the talented local artists of Ironside Metalworks. It also includes bonuses such as vaulted ceilings, granite counters, a Viking gas range, large second-floor entertainment deck, massive panoramic views, and private spaces for both small and large families to enjoy.

Away from prying eyes, the Overlook is a perfect location to experience Redwood country and the North Coast lifestyle. The home blends unique decor, native wood furnishings, and a grand setting with contemporary finishes to complement the blue water views from every room.

The Overlook is owner-managed. We take great pride in ensuring the experience from reservation to check-out is efficient and informed. We live nearby so our guests have the piece-of-mind knowing we’re there when they need us, but your privacy is respected. That’s the Humboldt way.

Our nightly rate is scaled based on the number of guests so smaller groups feel welcome. Please inquire about the even lower than advertised rate for 2 guests. We will consider pets in the off-season.

Stunning views of the beach

This was amazing. I've never stayed in house so beautiful before. The view of the ocean was breathtaking. We so enjoyed our stay even in the rain.

Can’t beat the panoramic view. Great space for larger groups as communal rooms are large and you don’t feel you’re tripping over each other. Well laid out design and comfortable furniture.

Wow!

This is a beautiful home in a beautiful location with an amazing view from every window. We felt blessed to get to stay here! It was clean. It was easy. It was home for a few days. Beds were comfortable…kitchen/dining room were massive and well equipped. Plenty of space to stretch out and get away from each other but also plenty of room to hang out together when we wanted. It was perfect. Again - we were lucky to stay in the area and get to see the sites…this home was amazing and comfortable! I don’t have a bad thing to say!!

Perfect Getaway

This was our first visit to the Trinidad area, and we are so happy that we discovered this home! The views from the sitting area are magnificent, and we loved watching the sun go down over the ocean at the end of the day . There is plenty of space to just relax and enjoy being away from life for awhile. The home had everything we needed, and Gabe was quick to respond when contacted. We hope to stay here again.

Great Base for Exploring the Redwoods

This house was a great fit for us, and we really enjoyed our stay. We made good use of the pool table and ping pong table. We found the house great for making a few meals and for relaxing. We felt at home. The location was great - right off Highway 101 but still felt far removed. We enjoyed exploring the beach right below the house at low tide (Luffenholtz Beach). The house was a great base for exploring the Redwoods. The only drawback is that the sun is intense in the main rooms in the evening, and there aren’t blinds on the large windows.

Wonderful vacation

From the moment we entered the house, it was clear that this was a curated home. Lots of solid wood furniture (some with metal legs) and a very private, panoramic view of the ocean. Kitchen was well equipped with some items I plan to purchase for my own place. Owner was very warm, responsive and welcoming. Biggest complaint is that the view makes it hard to leave the house and time passes more quickly than it should.

Winter at the ocean

The ocean was the show, and the Overlook was our front row seat. Everything you could want. We had a couple of short power outages in the worst of the storm, but they were less than a couple of minutes. The owner had provided a portable generator that can power most of the house but we didn’t need it.

Perfect location for an amazing week!

We used this rental as "home base" for a week to see the redwoods. The house is so clean and comfortable. The views are amazing. We enjoyed nightly visits from a fox and skunk (no spray). The kids had a great time playing inside and outside. We made day trips to Tall Trees, Fern Canyon, Jedidiah State Park, Trees of Mystery park, and spent one day just exploring Sue-Meg and the other areas in Trinidad. Murphy's market was so close and convenient for groceries...and with one exception for an evening out, we cooked for ourselves in the well-stocked kitchen. (we packed lunches in a cooler for our day trips...not many options when you head north). We had to reach out to the owner with a few questions, but responses were timely and they took care of everything needed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this rental for families traveling to the area.

Wonderful Christmas by the sea!

My husband, 2 dogs and myself had the absolute best time at this house! The house was very clean and spacious with cozy furniture and everything you'd ever need to feel like it was your second home. The owners took great care in making sure the property was dog friendly, the deck was completely closed off and our dogs loved going out to sniff the sea air and lie in the sun. There is also a side yard that's fully fenced like a little dog park that we took our dogs out to to run and play in the grass. Every western window over looked the gorgeous view, we found ourselves snuggled up just watching the waves for a lot of our time there. The house location was perfect you are in a lovely quiet neighborhood that's with in a few short miles of amazing beaches and awesome restaurants in Trinidad and Eureka. We truly can't wait to go back to this house and bring more family with us they will love it. Thank you for giving us a very memorable holiday!

Our Magnificent Adventure

My best friends and I, The Tribe, stayed at the glorious Pacific Overlook House for the first time five years ago and were not able to return until now. While we all adored the house last time, we unanimously found it even more spectacular this visit. The open, large spaces are filled with light, particularly the fantastic living room, kitchen and adjoining very long, beautiful table where we spent much time. Three of us were comfortably cooking together while talking to those at the table. The bedrooms are all incredibly beautiful, comfortable, and cozy. Friends who stayed upstairs pronounced that shower, “The BEST ever!!”. The grounds at Pacific Overlook are filled with a large variety of beautiful, old trees, flowering hedges and shrubs, and surrounded by gorgeous, gigantic spruce, pines, and cypress. Spectacular! Gabe is an amazing, helpful host who made things so easy for me in the planning, always communicating with kindness. Thank you, Gabe! We’re already planning our next trip to this most glorious spot.

This was a great space for our big group. The large living room made it such a comfortable weekend. The large dining table was great, and there was plenty of room downstairs too. The view speaks for itself, the pictures don’t even do it justice. It was beautiful. The yard was perfect for the kids, they loved hunting for banana slugs. The property manager was super nice as well, and very responsive when I had some questions before check in. We will definitely make a return visit.
