Nice little cabin, in a pretty little area, close to St Mary’s Glacier. Well maintained and easy to access in warmer months. I can see how in colder snowier months it would be more difficult to access without proper transportation so be prepared. Great host/owner that communicates well and responds promptly to questions. Would definitely stay here again. Pros: remote, high on the mountain, spectacular views of snow top mountains, big deck with access from front room and primary bedroom, great WiFi reception, smart tv in livingroom. Cons: kitchen pots/pans/bakeware could be updated a bit, primary bedroom tv could be updated to a smart tv or a Roku added for streaming (just because we fall asleep to tv at night).

This place is fantastic. About a 20 minute drive from Idaho Springs proper and an hour from Denver. The cabin was clean, kitchen is huge and the property is private & peaceful.

Mountain Getaway

This is the perfect mountain cabin! Clean, cozy and modern and very quiet on a private road. The views are very nice and we saw beautiful sunrises. Lots of things to do in the area from mining towns to 14ners. Our host, Colleen, was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had. We would love to stay again in the future.

The Property was exactly as listed. This was exacrly what we were looking for in a mountain stay. We have been through Idaho Springs many times, but first time staying. We took in some White water rafting and loved coming back home to the mountain. Highly recommend this home. Host were very responsive! Great home and GREAT location. FYI. Glacier lake hike was incredible.

Mountain View Paradise

Very clean, well maintained, home away from home. Enjoyed our private and quiet location. The Mountain views are incredible. St Mary’s Glacier hike is only minutes away and well worth the time. Activities only a short drive, downtown Idaho springs is quaint and a very friendly atmosphere. Rocky Mountains National Park is within a 2 hour drive and the views are remarkable entering into the west entrance. If you’re looking for that nice, quiet getaway, you’ve found it.

Clean, beautiful, secluded mountain cabin

Such a wonderful visit to Bryan and Colleen's Idaho Springs cabin! Clean, well-appointed and so cozy/comfortable, this cabin is the perfect fit for couples and small families who're looking for a quiet, mountain escape with an amazing view from the full length deck! On warmer mornings, we sat outside and had coffee while watching hummingbirds buzzing about. It's just down the road from the St. Mary's Glacier trailhead - a somewhat rocky, moderate-level trail with a beautiful lake view near the top. The drive up to the cabin from downtown Idaho Springs is about 30 min and a bit curvy, but well worth it. Looking forward to visiting again!

The home itself was good & in a beautiful location. The only issue is that the mattress was kind of hard. To reiterate, the HOME was great; there was one other issue that needs to be stated (even though it doesn’t pertain to the home itself) but as a warning to others: the drivers on the front range are very aggressive & dangerous. Just keep that in mind when booking.Overall the home was great, I just wouldn’t stay in this area again because of how dangerous & aggressive people drive on I-70.

Home away from home!

We had a wonderful stay! The house and kitchen are fully stocked like someone actually lives there. And unlike other VRBOs, the instructions and rules were very minimal. It felt very welcoming. The views of the mountains are not included in the listing pictures but they are vast and beautiful. Can be seen from the couch and kitchen. Even in August we could still see snow. There’s a swingset and two fire pits, and even raspberry bushes to snack on. The TV has been upsized from the listing pictures as well. You cannot see any neighbors from the house and we only saw one car go by the house the whole stay. The only noise is an occasional chipmunk. We had the best time and are so glad we chose this house for our stay. Thank you to our hosts!

Fantastic Mountain Home by St Mary's Glacier

We stayed here 6/13 to 6/27. The owners were great at making local suggestions and responded quickly with any communications we had. The location was amazing, looking at the St Mary's Glacier right from the front of the property. We could see the glacier while laying in bed, in the living room and on the front porch while enjoying breakfast and other meals from the outdoor table and chairs. We were visited by hummingbirds within a few feet, several times a day while on the porch, especially while wearing bright colors. The property itself was nicely furnished for our needs as we cooked most of the meals there. The main bed was very comfortable which was nice. Some rentals have cheap uncomfortable mattresses, and we picked this property based on other reviews that the bed was comfortable for our extended stay. The location of the property was off a dirt road, so if you have nice vehicles that might be something to consider. The local grocery store and small downtown was about 20 minutes away and was a nice scenic drive. St Mary's glacier was literally a 5-minute drive and definitely worth checking out.The only downside for us was the altitude. The property is located over 10,000 feet which was amazing. Since we are from Florida and used to very little changes in altitude, I really struggled with the higher altitude and felt like I could not ever catch my breath. This in no way reflects on the cabin itself. We highly recommend this property. Thank you!!

Great, comfortable house

We stayed for almost 3 weeks in February. The house was very warm, even on coldest winter nights. Beds were comfortable. Wifi was strong and my husband was able to work remotely with lots of video calls. Kitchen was very well stocked and we cooked all our meals. We also got Insta cart deliveries to the house. Owner was very accomodating and helped us to get driveway plowed after large snowfall. We only had minor problems on checkin day. The email with checkin info went into spam folder, so it took us time to figure it out. And the second problem was that house thermostat was set on 55F and water heater turned off between renters. So the house was really cold when we arrived and it took 4-5 hours for house to warm up.

Difficult and Dangerous.

We booked this property knowing it was high in the mountains and we would need a vehicle with 4 wheel or all wheel drive. Which we had. Upon arrival there was no way to pull into the drive because there was 2 foot of snow and no where on the narrow mountain road to park which was not maintained by the owner or a management company. We called the owner and she told us we would have to shovel the drive. We were lucky a neighbor was stuck behind us in the road. I offered him 20 and he came and plowed the drive for us. When we finally were able to enter the property it was covered in dust and cob webs. Every utensil was dirty which we cleaned. Over the next several days the property owners neighbors would be our only option for getting in and getting out. This was a scary and dangerous experience for a family of 4. There was very little extra fire wood which we saved incase the power went out. The owner needs to manage the property and the drive better.

DANGEROUS - PLEASE BE CAREFUL

I have never given a bad review ever, but this time I feel compelled to do it for the future travelers. This is not about money nor about customer service, this review is about the character of the owner and her negligence. We were supposed to spend 5 nights in this cabin, we ended up leaving after 1 night. It was the longest and the worst night we have ever experienced. We were stranded in the cabin for over 24 hours with no food and a sick child with high fever. We rented this cabin for our winter vacation, I asked the owner about the road before reserving and she said she never had issues. We get there around 4:30 pm the road was unplowed and our car got stuck and we had to carry our suitcases and walked uphill. There was no direction on the instructions and there were at least 4 cabins that look exactly the same, so we had to walk to each 1 of them until we got the right one. I texted the owner to tell her about our car getting stuck and that we can't drive back to town for food, she told me to call for a tow. We had to spend the night with no food and my oldest daughter spiked a fever and we had no way to get to any pharmacy. It was a sleepless night until 5 am where we called for AAA. While waiting inside the car for AAA the neighbor showed-up very angry and was cussing at us because he said we were using his private road, we explained the situation and we told him that is where the GPS took us and he kept yelling at me and my husband asking us to leave. Finally AAA shows-up but the driver told us that it is going to be very challenging to tow us because he got stuck too. It took us 4 hours 35 minutes to get out of there with both the driver and my husband working together under the cold weather. Meanwhile, I was updating the owner with videos and messages. She told me she was going to send someone to plow the road but no one showed-up and she never bothered to ask whether we made it out safely or not. I texted her the following day, to let her know that we left the cabin and that the way she handled the situation was not acceptable and asked her for a refund. She replied back telling me that she did not do anything wrong and wrote "DON'T TEXT ME ANYMORE, AS I WILL NOT BE RESPONDING".

A Dream Get Away

This lovely little cabin and it’s semi isolated location stole our hearts. We LOVED everything about our stay. The ride up to the cabin was fun during good weather and was a bit of a thrill when it was foggy. Being surrounded by nothing but nature was so peaceful. It was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was well stocked with condiments, spices and items in the freezer left by other guests. The bed and sofa were super comfortable. The shower was great. We loved painting on the deck in the morning and cooking brats over the open fire at night. Everyone in town was friendly. We had some car trouble and Bill’s Mobile came up the mountain to help us out at a very reasonable price. Our host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond. HIGHLY recommend!!
