We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect for everything from launching our boat, close proximity to town, and the fishing was very good! The cabin was perfect for my husband and I! The owners were very attentive and accommodating!

Thank you very much, we are working continuously to try and making even better!
Remodled cottage was clean and had plently space for 1 adult and 3 kids. The wifi and television were great for watching movies and for my teenage daughters to keep their snap streaks. The docks were great for fishing and taking in sunsets.
Janet was very responsive to questions and everyone I encountered was very friendly.
There is a beach a couple blocks down and many beaches in Alexandria. We enjoyed ice cream at the dairy bar and food/bowling at the barn and bowl right in osakis.
Would recommend for a laid back family get away.

Not what we expected
The cabin is under new ownership and hopefully they will be replacing the couch and carpeting as they were very dirty.

Yes we will be replacing all 5 cabins septic, water heaters, showers, toilets, sinks in the bathrooms, and flooring throughout cabins. It is a lot of time and expense on us to fix previous owners 13+ years of neglect. We try to reflect the wear and tear of them in the pricing.
We selected this property because of having access to a dock for our fishing boat.
It's very obvious that the cabin had recently been remodeled. The only drawback for me since I have a bad back was the beds. They weren't the most comfortable. We did have a family member sleep on the futon and she said that was comfortable and supportive.
It was very close to town, but yet far enough away to enjoy the Serenity of the lake. We had a two year-old with us so it was nice to be able to walk to the park.
Great little cottage, faces west - has air conditioner. Definitely cabin cottage feel. Owners are great, answered all our questions. Nice little town walking distance to many things on town.

Communication with hostess was instant and responsive. When we arrived, we did notice that a few basic amenities that were advertised were not available. We were happy with our planned stay, but probably will not return.

Thank you for staying at Idlewilde and best wishes to you all!
This was a wonderful place to stay. It is right on the lake with a big dock to catch fish off of. The owners are very accommodating. They are there if you need anything.
Very peaceful at the cabin, wished there was swimming access but there was a beach just a few blocks away. Catching fish right off the dock. Nice size sunnies and bass. Owners were amazing and very friendly. A couple issues with the power but they are fixing it. Overall I had a wonderful time with the family!
Idlewild, now under new management is delightful. Cozy, fantastic owners, lovely lake views and lots of great antique shops close by. Plan to go again in a few years.

It was very relaxing trip.
I enjoyed the cabin and the area. You and your family are great people, and very helpful.
I grew up in Blaine Minnesota and always dreamed of living in a small town. I love renting my cabins out to show the beauty and relaxation of this small town area that I fell in love with and moved to when I was 19.
Why they chose this property
Osakis is the first town I moved to from the Minneapolis area and holds a special place in my heart. Everyone was so friendly and happy here.
What makes this property unique
The best part of this property is the feel of being away from it all, but in reality town is just around the corner, with anything you want/need within 10 blocks from the property!
