About this property

Cozy home base for Mid-Atlantic tourism: Baltimore, D.C., Philly, Gettysburg

This property is an all-brick Cape Cod home on the loveliest street of an historic Baltimore neighborhood.
The home has 3 bedrooms and a full bath on the upper floor; the main level boasts a living room, dining room, updated kitchen, and large family room addition with a half bath; and the home has a finished, carpeted basement that’s cozy and bright and has a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. This is a non-smoking property.
The sleeping arrangements are:
In the upstairs bedrooms: a king bed, a twin bed, and two twins.
A twin pull-out in the main level family room
A twin pull-out in the basement
(a Pack n Play (portable crib) is also available for use for a small child)
The home has a private, fenced backyard for you to enjoy and, if you come in late April/early May, you will be treated to the spectacular display of our large azaleas that grace one entire side of the yard.
There is a large, beautiful park just a 5 minute walk from the house that has a large playground, a disc golf course, and a stream with walking trails. For you history buffs, the neighborhood was designed by landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead who was a pioneer in suburban development and also the designer (in partnership with Calvert Vaux) of Central Park in New York City. Sudbrook Park is known as one of the very first 'suburbs' in the nation. There are many beautiful, historic homes to enjoy if you like to walk or run for exercise.
The house is just 20 minutes by car from downtown Baltimore, or, 1 mile from a metro station. It's 15 minutes from the train station where you could take a train to D.C., Philadelphia, or even New York, for the day. It's centrally located for lots of mid-East-coast tourism. With a car, it's less than 90 minutes from historic civil war sites like Antietam and Gettysburg, the bustling metros of Baltimore, D.C., and Philadelphia, and the lovely (and historic) state capitol town of Annapolis.
Lots of adventures to be had during the day, and a quiet place to come home to at night. Your home away from home is waiting for you!

Great location

What a great location for our stay very near our friends! It is a very pleasant, quiet, and beautiful residential area, unlike what you find at hotels or other properties in the area. Would definitely items stay again and book for friends and relatives coming to visit.

Quick visit home

Very impressed with the property even though the front of the house looks like it’s small. It’s really big on the inside. My kids enjoyed all the toys and games that were there and if it wasn’t for the cold, they would’ve been outside in the backyard at the playground.. would definitely stay there again.

Cozy and Comfy!

My twins and I had come to Baltimore to see a concert that ended up being canceled and one thing that took the sting out of it was playing some Scrabble and hanging out in this cozy and charming home. The house makes you feel right at home on a quiet little sidestreet. Would love to visit again.

Perfect for family visit

The house was clean, charming, and perfectly located for us. With easy access to interstates and beautiful backroads, we were a short easy drive from all of our planned visits. I enjoyed morning walks through the quiet neighborhood to and around the nearby park. It was cold and rainy and the two space heaters really did the trick!

Cute house in a quiet neighborhood

This house is well maintained and full of charm. It was difficult to find the house in the neighborhood at first, but that could have been my poor signal from traveling.

Charming

It is a Cute, quaint place. It gives you the option of several rooms to entertain yourself. It is clean and provides the essentials. I would recommend upgrading lighting and adequate p plugs throughout the house. It was still a great price and it felt like home!

Peaceful & Comfortable Abode

We have stayed here numerous times and have always enjoy the stay. It is very similiar to my parents' 1950 home that i grew up in. It's quiet. The neighborhood is quiet. It's convenient. The house is well taken care of. The amenities standout. The owner is very responsive.

We had a wonderful stay at Rachel's house last week. She was so helpful during the reservation process and very responsive to questions when we were there. The house is very cute. Lots of great spaces for the kids to hang out and play. There are lots of toys, books, and linens, and the kitchen is stocked with seasonings. There are three bedrooms with additional pull out couches and plenty of places to sit/relax throughout the house. We had family over throughout the week to visit and it was a great space for hosting. The house is walking distance from the park and a 7 min drive to the grocery store. The neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors were helpful - we even got to see some fireflies! Overall, it was a great trip and we will plan to stay there again next time we visit.

This house is VERY well-equipped for a great family stay!

Rachel's house is an adorable place perfect for families with children. The layout is very good, there are lots of toys and activities, and the kitchen has lots of dishes and cooking utensils, spices and condiments for convenient meal preps. There were even table linens, a booster seat, plenty of cleaning supplies, and a fenced back yard. The neighborhood was nice and quiet, and we felt safe and snug in our home-away-from-home. Communication with Rachel was so easy, and she even had notes around the house for things we might need to know. We loved our stay here!

Great House

The house was perfect for us, it had everything we needed including tons of toys for the kids to play with. Great location for us to head into Baltimore for a couple day trips and close enough to Virginia and Delaware for quick trips. Host was quick to respond and very friendly.

Great stay, great value!

Very pleasant and just as represented. As an architectural and landscape architecture, history buff, I really appreciated the book about the Sudbrook neighborhood that we were staying in. It’s lovely to walk in especially with all the spring flowers out. One small bathroom to share, plus a half bath downstairs, but it worked out fine. Thanks!

Makes me think of the house I grew up in in the 1950's and 60's. Solid and fundamental and comfortable. The owner has stocked the house with books and games for all ages to enjoy.

Me and My Peeps!

Five of us (friends and family) gathered for a reunion to eat together, laugh together, and share a wonderful SONiA Disappear Fear concert! The location and accommodations could not have been better. Our host even provided baking sheets and a rolling pin for us to create our holiday cookies together. I hope to come back!

Quiet and scary

Nice place great location for my needs. I didn’t feel at ease, in the house alone at night , with the no basement door. And no locking bedroom door. I feel that bedroom doors should have a lock. The back door frame is not sealed good and a slug got in. The house can sleep, 5 on the upper level, and 1 on the main level and 1 in this basement, however, the direction was to not have more than 5 Stay over night. Lots of notes with directions. Some items could have been cleaner. Like the oven floor. The vent in the hall restroom. The look of seasonings are good, however they are only for looks, they most likely are no good. Most were stuck in the jar. I feel the owners maximized the space and the house is well kept based on the age of the property.
