Our House:
Perched high on a knoll, surrounded by hydrangeas and blackberry bushes is the perfect home to make your vacation both relaxing and memorable. The well appointed house is situated on 2 acres and has an extensive porch and deck overlooking a croquet field with beautiful ocean views that create a gorgeous backdrop for morning coffee, evening cocktails, or moonlight dinners.

The house is ideally located, it is private yet near town and all the popular beaches.For those of you who know Block Island, it is situated off Spring Street, about 1/2 mile from town and 1/2 mile to Southeast Lighthouse and the Mohegan Bluffs. You are approximately 10-15 minute walk to town and a 5 minute drive to State Beach.
It is the perfect distance that is not too far or too close !

The house itself was built for comfort and fun. This is not your typical rental. It is tastefully designed with upscale furnishings and artwork. There are water views from nearly every room and a fabulous breeze.
There are 3 floors of living space.
The first floor has another master bedroom suite with French doors opening onto the deck and a Queen bed. There is also a large kitchen/ dining room and an over sized living room. Built-in speakers in these rooms and on the outside porch add to the total comfort of the house.
The second floor has 3 bedrooms... a master bedroom with a King size bed and a bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms share a bath. One bedroom has a king bed , the other 2 twins.
The Bottom floor can be used as a 5th bedroom or play area. There are 2 twin XL daybeds that can be used separately or pushed together to form a king.
This floor also has a full bath and access to the bluestone patio and outdoor shower.

The front deck/ porch is quite large. It is our favorite place to entertain. It has a teak table and dining chairs and also wicker furniture for lounging.

The house is very well equipped.

I love SeaWieds!

This is my 3rd time staying at this property. While things have changed within the house over the past 6 years, SeaWieds provides all the comforts of home. I always feel like a welcome house guest at SeaWieds because it is someone's home, not just a rental property. Because of that, there is redundancy, and items that you would need to use at your own house, e.g., broom/dustpan, platters, pitchers, dish, and glassware, are plentiful. There are also games, books, and cookbooks that are always fun to play or thumb through on the occasional gloomy day. There are MANY places to gather and lounge outside and in as well as retreats for privacy to recharge your social batteries. Tricia and Tara responded graciously to my questions and requests, and I appreciate that so much about them. Thank you so much. I cannot wait to return -- how about Summer 2022?!

Paradise Found!

Our family ranging in age from 16-92 years went out to Block for a quiet celebration of family and we were not disappointed in any regard during our stay at a well-loved and appointed home located on a quiet country lane with lovely far-reaching views. In fact everything went beyond our expectations. Tricia was spot on in all of her descriptions and communicating with her was truly a pleasure. I am very meticulous about where my family stays, not solely for the pragmatics but also the aesthetics. Tricia, we could not have enjoyed ourselves more. From your well equipped kitchen and amenities, the beauty and comfort of your home, and the gorgeous island view, all made for a fantastic week. BTW...I've never written a review in my life so you must know how impressed were were with your Block Island treasure. Thank You!

Even better than the photos

This house is just as beautiful and tastefully furnished as the photos show. In fact, no photos quite capture the spacious deck and the sweeping views you have from there. All the rooms have nice views, are well-furnished with charming touches. Even the futons on the ground level were comfortable. There is everything for your amusement, books, movies, games of all sorts. The kitchen is very well equipped. It is in a peaceful, private location, with a large yard (great for croquet!) that deer frequently pass through. You should be aware that you cannot easily walk to a beach, but this did not bother us. You can walk up to the lighthouse in 10 minutes or so, or into town, 15 minutes.

My husband Joe and I were introduced to BI in 1986 by his sister and brother-in-law. We fell in Love immediately and have been coming every year ever since. Our primary residence was Maryland for 40 years, however we currently reside in Bucks County, PA.
A move that brings us right next door to our grandchildren.
I wish I could convey to you the peace and joy of SeaWied cottage. It starts by driving off the ferry, passing the Empire Theater, heading up to the Spring House, rounding the corner and seeing the magnificent Altantic expanse. A short drive later up Spring st, your home. I walk through the house and land on the deck to survey the wide open view of the ocean and our gardens. Every morning we sit on the deck listening to the birds, breathing the salt air. Being grateful. The house was built for comfort and easy. Clean and efficient. We spend a good deal of time making sure that everything is order and keeping things updated. We enjoy having friends over, cooking a great meal, laughing. We know quite a people on the island and so appreciate their kindness, hard work and good stewartship of this special place. We like to walk, hike and explore all the beaches that are off the beaten path. Every day is a pleasure on the island. I hope you create beautiful memories here.
