'Southern Comfort' Only 2 Blocks from the Beach!

Only 2 blocks from the beach, this unique rental home is the perfect get-a-way. Enjoy peaceful, quiet nights, in this residential atmosphere. The ocean breeze will completely relax you on the large upstairs screened in porch under the massive oak trees.

We own and maintain this gorgeous vacation home and stay there often. It is well maintained and has just been recently updated with new appliances, new tile floors downstairs and completely painted inside. The house is fully furnished and the kitchen has everything you need.

The upstairs features two large bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the other with a pillow top queen size bed. Both bedrooms have HD TV as does the large family room upstairs that opens up into the kitchen with an entrance onto the screened in porch. Our kitchen offers everything you need if you prefer to cook, including a new gas grill on the porch. There is a full size bathroom with a tub/shower upstairs.

Downstairs has another family room with HD TV so adults and children can each have their privacy. There is a third large bedroom with a double bed and a twin bunk on top, as well as a full bathroom and laundry room. The couch downstairs is a convertable queen size bed as well.

Tybee Island was originally called, the 'Savannah Beach' and for good reason. It's only 15-20 minutes from downtown Savannah. You can enjoy the beach all summer long or tour the island on the Tybee Shuttle. Our home is less than five minutes to the nearest boat ramp, shopping, and plenty of restaurants with fresh local seafood. If you can't bring your boat, there are plenty of fishing charters available. There's no way you won't enjoy your stay. Our home is a 3 minute walk to the beach with the beautiful sand dunes.

You should make definite plans to venture into beautiful Historic Savannah. River Street is an absolute must with shopping and award winning cuisine. There you can watch some of the worlds largest container ships sail right by you on the Savannah River literally only hundreds of feet away. Experience Savannah through the Trolley Tours, Ghost Tours and visit the many National Historic Monuments.

Great family trip to Tybee

We had more than enough space for our family of 4. The kids loved the bunk beds and playing in the yard. We loved the easy access to the beach. Such a fun trip exploring Tybee - we will be back!

Excellent Location and comfortable stay

We loved staying so close to the beach and mid island amenities. The house has a spectacular screened in porch and the perfect amount of space for everyone. Gary was kind and responsive. Check in and out was simple and efficient.

Close to the beach!

This home is well maintained and absolutely charming. Plenty of room for four and the corner lot was huge & beautiful. We spent most of our time on the screened in patio/deck. It's in a fantastic location. Just steps away from the beach and a quick golf cart ride to lots of restaurants. We'd for sure stay again!!!

Perfect location for a vacation!!

This home has an absolutely perfect location! It is just a short walk's distance from the beach. There are a few diners and cafés close by that are unique to Tybee Island. When you walk in the house, you instantly feel at home. The beds are super comfy and it has a full size kitchen if you feel like cooking during your stay. Perfect for families or couples looking to have an easy and relaxing vacation!

Cute little beach house on Tybee Island. Easy walk to the beach so no need to pay for parking on the island. Lots of space and plenty of beds. Well appointed kitchen. New stairs up to the deck. Very communicative owner and great stay. Would recommend!

Great location and price

We had a wonderful experience at this well-appointed property. Not having WiFi was occasionally a challenge but since we spent most of our time on the beach, it was not a problem. Stairs were a little scary with a toddler but the owners had thoughtfully provided a gate. Overall, we had a great (and affordable!) time!!

Comfortable family home

If you are looking for a new, posh beach house —this isn’t it. If you are looking for a very clean, comfortable, well stocked family home this is the place!!!! We stayed here for a long weekend with our adult children and 2 toddler grandchildren. The first thing we noted was how clean the house was and how well stocked the kitchen was with pots, pans etc. The house is on side street, but a short easy walk to both the beach and a great park for the kids The only important note- if you are traveling with toddlers make sure you bring a baby gate as the stairs are quite open. The house was supposed to have one, but didn’t and fortunately we had brought one along. All in all, we would gladly stay here again.

All the basics and decent beach

We booked this house last minute and weren’t sure what to expect. It was a pretty basic beach house with a good location, short easy walk to a nice beach. House is older and has a lot of wear and tear but it serves its purpose. We were a little disappointed when we pulled up and found a trash can overflowing in the middle of the yard. It also looked like one of the beds hadn’t been cleaned and some of the other general cleaning was questionable. We immediately washed the sheets and let the owner know, who was very apologetic. We made it a good trip and enjoyed our time but doubtful that I’d choose this property again. Hard to undo first impressions. Haven’t rented any other properties on Tybee so can’t really compare.

Good Value

My wife and I were satisfied with the house. There are some downsides, such as no Wifi and a non-private outdoor shower. The house is a little frayed around the edges, so to speak, so don't expect anything fancy. But it was clean and comfortable, and for my family (we have four small children), fancy is not really desirable. The house has two major selling points. First, it has great proximity to the beach; we never drove to the beach, nor were ever tempted to. Even with our small children, the beach was a less than five minute walk. The second is the screened porch, which we used with regularity. The view of the live oak was gorgeous, and the ceiling fans kept things comfortable. I should also mention that the living room upstairs is well configured for movie watching, and all the TVs were nice and new. We would happily return to this house. It's a solid choice for those who want to be near a section of Tybee Beach that is removed from the frenzy of the southern tip of the island.

Great time had by all at the Southern Comfort!

I am still basking in the glow from our wonderful relaxing trip to Tybee. My husband and I took our 2 boys down (ages 3 and 8mo) to Tybee looking for a nice peaceful vacation and it met our expectations. The house was much bigger than the pictures looked. The bedrooms were a great size and the living areas were very spacious. The walk to the beach was not bad at all and we were carrying a tent, cooler, chairs, toys, and 2 kids. You do have to cross a busy street, but there is a crosswalk. We cooked a lot of our meals and the kitchen had everything we needed including a stockpot, cutting boards, tupperware, and serving dishes. It was a nice surprise to find the house stocked with essentials like soap, toothpaste, trash bags, and paper towels. We all loved the outdoor shower and my 3 year old got a kick out of bathing outside. If it had been enclosed we all might have bathed out there. My husband and I loved the peacefulness of the porch and would sit out there every night after we put the kids to bed. The slats in the porch railings are a little too far apart so if you have a toddler it might make you nervous. Gary was so easy to work with booking the house and the whole process couldn't have been any easier. We loved our stay and hope to come back again soon! If you are headed to Tybee, here are some food recommendations...The Crab Shack is AWESOME, stay away from MacElwees (way overpriced and too small of portions), and you can get fresh caught Georgia shrimp for less at the IGA.

Close to everything

An older home but very clean and close to the beach! Needs new mattresses otherwise wonderful!! We rented a golf cart and had a very relaxing trip! Even used the grill, very nice and kitchen was stocked well.

Wonderful location

I have been coming to Tybee my whole life. Mid beach is by far the best location. This house is within walking distance to seventh Street boardwalk. Gary, the property manager, was a wonderful communicator. The house was well stocked and clean. My only two critiques are the upstairs bathroom shower needs to be replaced and the screen porch is not very safe for litties. There is no vertical slats on the bottom and it scares me if a child leans on it because it’s just thin screen. Overall I would recommend this property.

This is a very nice quaint cottage, as we call them in New England, easy access to everything on Tybee. The Beach is very close and a very clean one. The area of Tybee we were on is very quiet and relaxing.

Perfect week at Tybee

I stayed here with my family of 5, and found that it was a perfect choice. The house is close enough to the beach that we walked the 2 blocks every morning and afternoon. The 7th street beach entrance is very quiet, though there isn’t anything notable nearby (markets, restaurants, etc). Both a pro and a con as it keeps the crowds away. The outdoor shower was a bigger plus than we were anticipating, as it kept a LOT of sand out of the house. The shower is also fully enclosed and private. We will absolutely be returning to this property in the future.
