A spacious and beautiful garden offers a myriad of flowers, trees and plants. The master bedroom’s king bed with private deck and second bedroom’s queen size bed both overlook the ocean. A full kitchen provides an ocean view deck with table for morning coffee to enjoy dawn over the ocean. A large furnished patio and 5 burner grill is perfect for outdoor cooking and dining. The expansive, multi-level garden is surrounded by a wide variety of flowers, trees and vegetation where you can enjoy Laguna Beach sunsets. Step back to the tranquility of the 1930's close many of California's most beautiful Beaches, Parks, Hiking Trails, Mountain Biking, Art Shows and Exhibits, World Class Restaurants, Shops, Bars and Entertainment. Steps to free shuttle service throughout Laguna. Reserve with confidence as this is one of a limited number of permitted short term rental locations in Laguna Beach. The location was very nice, walking distance to the beach (but the hike back up the hill is strenuous!). Hosts were nice, and responsive when we ran short on TP, kitchen sponges. The garden area is really nice too.

We had a really lovely stay at this property. The garden was lovely and the kids loved it! The views from the balcony are beautiful. It was a perfect home for our family of 4 to enjoy the beach. We hope to be back!!

Wonderful weekend in Laguna Beach

The house and property are beautiful. Nicely tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the beach and town. Would love to stay here again.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. It was so nice to sit on the deck each morning with our coffee and gaze at the ocean in the distance. The cottage is nicely furnished and very comfortable. Hope to return for a longer stay!

A fun little property on a steep hill above Thousand Steps Beach. One very small bath. Delightful garden and a view of the ocean from the kitchen deck and bedrooms. Comfortable beds and adequately furnished. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Laguna retreat

Excellent space centrally located off PC HWY. You are surrounded by lush green patios which draw you outside for meals and conversation. 1000 steps beach is directly across the street from the neighborhood which was perfect for teens. Absolute must for Laguna travels.

I enjoyed my week at this beautiful little beach cottage. The views from the back decks and kitchen are stunning. It is a short walk from the beach (though a steep one, so be prepared) and an easy drive to Dana Point and Laguna Beach. The house was well appointed with linens and beach supplies. There is no AC, which was only noticeable during the evening when the bedrooms are in direct sun. Fortunately, the evening were cool and there were plenty of fans to sleep. All in all a great home base for my week in Laguna.

Why they chose this property

This cottage has occupied this enchanting property since the 1930's, initially used as a guest house for a well known east coast family. The cottage has been updated yet kept its historical charm. The garden is full of flowers, plants, and trees (including an endangered California Redwood), with a view to the ocean and ever changing Laguna Beach sunsets. While within a short walk of Pacific Coast Highway, 1000 Steps Beach, South Laguna Restaurants and a Laguna Beach Trolley stop, the property is very private and quiet. The fully equipped kitchen and outdoor grill with lots of indoor and outdoor seating provides the perfect environment to enjoy your culinary skills or just an a refreshment in the shade. After looking at dozens of properties we fell in love with the tranquility, beauty and charm of this typical Laguna Beach Cottage.

What makes this property unique

The privacy, tranquility, beautiful garden and ocean views are a unique combination in a property so close to the ocean. Hummingbirds, Sparrows, Woodpeckers, and Honey Bees are frequent guests.
