Wedding week-end get away! Great Getaway in the North Georgia Mountains to relax and enjoy the best section of the Chattahoochee River. Helen, Cornelia, Cleveland and Clarkesville are 4 towns very close by with wineries, restaurants, shopping, fly fishing, hiking and more. The best time is spent at the house playing in the river or enjoying the sounds of the river from the large screened porch. Very easy access to the water. Views of the River are best in the wintertime when the leaves have fallen and the trees are bare. Fire Place, Fire Pit and firewood at the house. Spend your days on the large screened-in porch and lower deck overlooking the Chattahoochee River in Demorest, Georgia watching the tubers, canoes, kayaks go by. Get adventurous! Use the shuttle service provided by the local outfitters and go kayaking with the sit-on-tops kayaks they provide for rent. Go fishing in the river or hike along the river. Or just sit on the large screened porch, swings by the river, lower porch, and listen to the beautiful sounds of the river rapids while reading, playing family games, or watching television.

We have recently installed video cameras outside the house monitoring our property.
One points at the base of driveway so we can see who comes on our property. Also, have one mounted off the back porch to monitor stairs up and down from the river. And on the fire pit.

Demorest is located between Cleveland, Clarkesville, Cornelia, and Helen. Our house is right on the Chattahoochee River. Great place to relax, play in the river and enjoy the sounds and views of the great outdoors.

Check-out instructions

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights and lock the doors
Make sure there’s no loose trash in the bins out on the deck. All trash should go into bags and the bags will go into the bend. It is difficult for my property mgr to fish loose trash out of the bins.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.
Tenants should use caution and accept complete responsibility when they decide to swing on the rope swing
No fires outside of new installed fire pit. Make sure pit underneath fire pit has water to catch embers. Do not allow flames to get to aggressive
No guns allowed on property, leave them at home or in cars. No neighbors want to hear gun fire and will alert me every time!

Our multigenerational family really enjoyed staying at this house with a beautiful view of the river. The porch was the highlight with heaters taking the chill off the morning, and the table there being perfect for meals and games together. The swings and chairs set up by the river were perfect for the readers in the group, and the yard gave the grandkids and dog plenty of room to chase each other.

Great overall family stay. Gorgeous view and the screened porch was perfect for enjoying the river view and sounds without bugs or weather getting in the way. The living room and kitchen are beautiful, and the kitchen is well equipped. We also loved the riverfront seating and the direct access to the water. Our dog loved to play fetch in the yard. The home feels private and secluded, yet it’s not too far from the main road. Access is via a gravel road so plan accordingly. The main floor bedroom and full bath were especially convenient for our elderly parents, making their stay very comfortable. Note the steep stairs to the upstairs and basement could be tricky for elderly guests or little kids. Only downside is the basement - tiny shower, one bedroom without a window, and it tended to be cold at night while the upper floors were warm. Would definitely stay again. Thank you!

Out in the middle of nowhere- heaven. No problems with internet or streaming services, but who would want those when you are surrounded by nature. Right on the river. Great for tubing, kayaking, or just sitting enjoying the sounds of the river. We enjoyed our stay.

Perfect Vaca for anytime of the year

This is our second time staying at this property and plan to come back time and time again. Owner has everything very well thought out and is very responsive and accommodating. Its the perfect spot, you have privacy yet not too far out of the way. Stock up with food upon arrival and youll have no reason to leave.

Perfect Thanksgiving weekend on the Chattahoochee river

Our adult children and their plus ones enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at this river cabin. It was very well stocked and we were able to easily cook a huge traditional Thanksgiving meal. We loved the fireplace, fire pit and screened porch. There was plenty of room for the 8 of us.

A Perfect Family Retreat by the Chattahoochee River

Wonderful Place

The house is wonderful. It’s clean, fairly spacious and perfect layout for a few small families. The river and swing were perfect to give our kids something to do while the adults enjoyed the fire pit and football on the back screened in deck. Very close to Helen if you want to go into town. The beds were comfortable and kitchen adequately stocked. Would definitely go back.

Beautiful property all around,just the sounds from the creek was amazing Plenty to do and just relax on the porch Spent one afternoon just navigating through the creek The small town of Helen was fun in itself The weather was fabulous The true adventure was the driveway ,with the vehicle we rented,it was a challenge,totally my fault for not reading the part about trying to get to the house before dark All in all a beautiful property would definitely recommend to anyone

The house and location are great. Plenty of room to spread out and not be cramped. The property is hilly so make sure you are able to walk up and down hill if you want to go down to the river. There are steps. The screened porch is great if you are good to sit and watch the river. Great views! We will definitely come back!

Loved the cabin! Easily the most stocked cabin with supplies (coffee, filters, trash bags, seasonings, paper plates/ towels) I’ve ever visited. No need to bring much. Owner was great with communication. Cabin is located in a great location. River right out the back door. Helen 15- 20 minutes.

Once the kids got older and playing sports every weekend, we started renting the house about 2005. We now spend a lot of time in Florida also. With the new remodel, we plan to use the house more and more.
