Victorian Secrets is a unique getaway experience. This 1897 Oregon-historic-registry home sits majestically on a neighborhood corner lot adjacent to two other Victorian homes. There is something special that often stops passers-by to admire this captivating home. Step inside and discover the secrets within. Modern, eclectic finishes and furnishings mixed with original architectural details quickly welcome visitors to a comfortable and intriguing space. Each room expresses a surprise "secret" that is guaranteed to please.

Quality & comfort is the foundational theme: LIVING ROOM with lots of seating spaces, smart large screen TV, Bluetooth stereo bar speaker, air-printer, and games; Collaborative & well-appointed KITCHEN complete with 50’s Vintage gas stove, modern refrigerator/freezer, wine cooler, 5-stool bar, and so much more; 4 BEDROOMS all outfitted with generous queen pillow-top mattresses – not too soft and not too hard -, high-thread-count linens and two rooms have Smart TVs; BATHROOMS offer antique claw-foot tub/shower or walk-in tiled shower, lots of lush bath linens and a make-up vanity, heated tile floors; Central Air Conditioning and Continuously-hot-tankless water heater assure a pleasant stay! Access to a LAUNDRY ROOM with new-model stack washer & dryer. OUTSIDE features a 4-Hole Putting Green, covered and open patio, a beautifully landscaped yard, and gas stainless BBQ with rotisserie feature. Wonderful host—so thoughtful and detail minded. Location easily walkable to several restaurants and tasting rooms. The house is well kept and she truly thinks of everything. We loved exploring the house and the creativity in each space. Would definitely recommend!

Better than home

We feel so lucky to have stayed in this beautiful home. It is decorated with so many interesting details, yet it is so very welcoming and comfortable. Rachel provided excellent communication and information regarding the house and the area. When we arrived, there were fresh cut flowers in every room, water, coffee, and other goodies left just for us. Everything you could possibly need or want during your stay is available. All the comforts of home and so much more!

Perfect Family Get-Away

Our group had a fantastic time at Victorian Secrets! The house was in the perfect location in Newberg, and we had everything we needed for cooking for the crew. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms were extremely well stocked. The kitchen had all the pots, pans, and utensils we needed for cooking breakfast and dinner. We also walked into town in the AM for lattes and mochas, and in the afternoon/evening for wine tastings and dinner. Our host added extra touches that made the whole experience even more special and checked in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. We were extremely pleased and will stay here again in the future!

Perfect Wine Tour Weekend

Rachel and Michael's home was a great place to stay for our annual weekend in wine country. Our friend group had a lovely stay in this eccentric and fun house. We wished we could have stayed longer than just the weekend!

In town for a wedding, we were incredibly comfortable staying at this home and lacked for nothing except more time here! Convenient location for all things downtown Newberg (walking distance of several restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops) and surrounding area. We felt as though we moved into someone's home they vacated for the weekend! We found everything (and more) that we needed for three couples to stay under one roof. The house is beautiful inside and out. We utilized the outdoor space extensively for conversation and quite enjoyment of the beautifully manicured yard and water feature. We felt safe and pampered here. Several special touches around the house speak to how extensively the hostess pours into every detail. Would stay here again and recommend highly for adults.

Gorgeous House!

Adorable home!

This property and the host exceeded our expectations. We traveled to Newberg for a family wedding and this place was located close to everywhere we needed to go. I’m absolutely in love with this house and hope we can stay here again if we’re ever back in town. The house was adorable, the patio was perfect for all of us to relax. The attention to detail makes Rachel stand out as a host. I highly recommend booking this beautiful home if you are in the area ❤️

Excellent stay and attention to details

We had a wonderful stay at Rachel's house. She was very responsive to questions and so accommodating. She offered to pick up groceries for us to stock the refrigerator. We even had cupcakes waiting for us as we were celebrating a graduation. It was a lovely visit and the beds were so comfortable. The house had every amenity you could imagine. We will stay at this location again. Thank you!

An absolutely fun and amazing place to stay with friends!

Words and pictures won't express what a great experience it is to stay at this house. If you are reading this and considering booking, you should. Our hosts Rachel & Michael didn't miss a detail. This is by far the best VRBO experience we've ever had, and we use VRBO frequently. This house is amazing, the location perfect, and the hosts are the most personable and thoughtful people we've ever encountered in the totality of our stays. We were here for a birthday celebration of friends, for a wine tasting weekend. The thoughtful touches of Happy Birthday decorations, recommendations for restaurants and activities, and a host of other general awesomeness made our weekend perfect. You won't be disappointed in this home and all that the area has to offer. You can walk to a host of amazing restaurants, after your long day of wine tasting. We will absolutely be back!

Seriously the best rental ever

We were a group of 6 ladies coming from all over the country for a wine trip. This house is perfect. The hosts are truly the best I have ever experienced. They have thought of every single detail. The location is a block from downtown with great restaurants, clothing boutiques, and wine tasting rooms. It was a short drive to the grocery store and convenient for planning 3 days of wine tastings with our driver. I could not recommend this house enough. The owners were very responsive, proactive, and just nice people.

Super stay!!

Excellent property. Beautifully decorated. Well maintained. Everything that can be expected in a vacation rental is there, and much more. The small town of Newberg has everything you might need. Wine country is beautiful. Owners were very friendly and attentive, came right over when we arrived. They live five minutes away and responded quickly when we needed them. Very personable. Even brought us a Christmas tree to help us celebrate the holiday with our family. All the "instructions" in the email packet were well organized and helpful. Couldn't be better in any way. We'll be back.

The best place we have stayed by far

Amazing, amazing, amazing!! This property is everything described in the description. We went to Oregon for a wedding and a birthday and the place could not have been more perfect. It is plenty big and beautiful. We enjoyed all the extras such as forgotten toiletries and little snacks, that the host left. She was very accommodating and willing to give advice and recommendations of the surrounding area. You can walk to any business downtown Newberg. We loved the putting green and the different areas to sit and enjoy the day. We had eight people and we were all very comfortable. If you are in the Newberg area I highly recommend this property. Thank you for a wonderful memory.

Beautiful

We couldn’t believe our eyes as soon as we set foot inside Victorian Secrets! What an amazingly beautiful home that had everything we needed. Our host really went out of their way to make sure we felt welcomed. From the little personalized touches to the welcoming bread and jam, we were just in awe of everything. The house itself is located in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance to downtown and within a short driving distance to some of the local wineries. After exploring the area, it was so nice to come back and relax in this tranquil and peaceful home. We loved watching the hummingbirds while having our morning coffee and trying out the miniature golf course! Thanks for making our girls’ getaway so enjoyable and memorable!

Perfect Rental

The attention to detail in this rental is amazing. There are adaptors if you need them, toothbrushes if you need them, labels and directions for everything and plenty of outlets in all the rooms. The towels are super-fluffy and the bedding is comfortable. Everything (light, appliances, plumbing, etc) works without any sort of cajoling at all. And to top it all off, the place is squeaky-clean. We also appreciated the little details—water in the fridge, a bottle of welcome wine, the wine cups in the freezer. We had a great time.

A Whimsical Retreat Full of Charm and Thoughtful Touches

Victorian Secrets was even better than the photos promised. Each room was a delightful surprise filled with personality, comfort, and charm. Our group of eight felt instantly at home in this beautifully curated space. The fully equipped kitchen made both cooking in and ordering out easy, and the whimsical décor kept us exploring every nook with wonder.The outdoor area was a true highlight. We spent hours enjoying the putting green, relaxing in the covered seating area, and unwinding to the sound of the tranquil water feature. Each bedroom was unique and inviting. Despite the variation in size, everyone felt well taken care of.Our host, Rachel, was outstanding. She was responsive, warm, and proactive without ever being intrusive. She made thoughtful suggestions, such as having BBQ waiting for our late arrival, and added personalized touches that made the stay feel incredibly special.The town of Newberg is a gem, with great restaurants and scenic drives that rounded out our perfect stay. We can't wait to return.

Everything about this place was delightful! From the moment we arrived, the communication was seamless, and the hosts went above and beyond to accommodate our special requests. Spent a long weekend in Willamette Valley Wine Country with teammates from our Distribution company. Rachel was an amazing host and the property was perfect for our team get together. We have been Newberg residents for over 30 years - and Portlanders for as long as we can remember. Michael came to Oregon from the flatlands of Kansas (courtesy of the US Air Force) and Rachel doesn't know another place to call "home". We both consider Yamhill County as THE BEST PLACE ON EARTH. Our own Sherwood residence is far enough away to allow your independent sanctuary experience, but close enough (within 5 miles) for us to easily offer local advice, guidance or any needed/desired concierge service. When you are in our home, you are "HOME".

Why they chose this property

On an unusual free Saturday with no calendar commitments, we randomly happened across this regal Victorian residence in our hometown, Newberg. We were immediately hooked to make it a welcoming haven for guests to come and enjoy our community and vast surrounding attractions. There is so much to do within walking distances to downtown, drives to the wine country, connections to several neighboring Universities and easy access to the hustle-bustle of Portland Big City life. Both of us adored the historic design and worked hard for a year to give Victorian Secrets an eclectic vibe that honors the old with a new appeal. You're gonna love this place as much as we do!
