Regarding some disposables you mentioned, we expect our housekeepers to absolutely provide garbage bags, ziplocks, soap bars, and ample dishwasher pods to satisfy the duration of your stay. We will take this information and work with them in a coaching effort to ensure this standard is met going forward. So sorry for the fall off on this! Hi Shannon, Thank you for being our guest. I am glad that you loved the location- especially the deck and views. I'm sorry that you found the home to be dirty and believed to be uncared for. I assure you that we, the property managers, and the owners of the home put a great deal of care into maintaining this older property. All of the maintenance items that you have mentioned are in the works to be repaired or parts on are on order (screens, window mechanics) except for the upstairs fireplace that has not been operable for a decade or more. Luckily the main fireplace in the living room and dining room is functional, annually cleaned and serviced- and wood is even provided for guests! And we found that the downstairs tub/shower diverter works perfectly fine, so I'm not sure why it didn't work during your stay but we always encourage our guests to reach out to us during their stay if anything needs to be remedied. We would have loved to address this during your stay. The windows that face the ocean are cleaned every other week in this home yet sometimes the spray off the ocean and/or rain will wreak havoc on them in between cleanings. I'm sorry if that was your experience. Regarding the bedding and dishes- our cleaners work very hard to prepare this large home in the 5 hours between a guest check out and next guest arrival- and I assure you that the most important features in the home are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. We would love to be able to inspect every dish and wash all duvet covers between each guest, but it's just not possible. Just like in a hotel, the top bedding is on a rotation to be cleaned regularly, but not between every single guest. I'm sorry for the disappointment this may have caused, but again, we do wish you had alerted us of any of these disappointments the day after check in when we sent a text checking in on the quality of the home. For any other future guests reading this, we aim to exceed guest expectations and welcome feedback during your stay so if we have fallen short we have an opportunity to correct it. Hello June, Thank you for choosing this home for you recent visit to Cayucos and for sharing some feedback. We're so sorry that on the last morning the garage door failed and you missed brunch plans. I am sure that was very frustrating and we feel terrible about that. I know that someone from our office came and addressed the outlet outage promptly and flipped the affected breaker, so I'm hopeful you weren't too inconvenienced by that. While this house is old, the owners have purposely honored the integrity of the original architecture. The original redwood throughout the house is priceless and, in most opinions, part of the charm of this home. I assure you and other travelers that the house is very well maintained and has been structurally updated to ensure it is safe and just as secure as a newer home from anything that may jump out at you. We wish you had a better experience, but due to the unfortunate event with the garage door I did issue you a goodwill refund to your account.
