You will love this classic Florida oceanfront elevated beach home, which has a spectacular rustic old Florida wooden beach home feel, super comfy rooms, and a visually stunning and stylish beachy east meets west vibe both indoors and outdoors.

Shangri-La Resort's main house includes large oceanfront living spaces, living room, dining area and kitchen, as well as two king bedrooms and two bathrooms. The North and South Cabanas each have a living room, a queen bedroom, a bunk bedroom (3 twins) and a full bathroom respectively.

The huge wrap-around covered decks offer endless sea breezes, stunning ocean views, and fabulous spots for sharing a drink and conversation with your loved ones. Shangri-La Resort is fun for family members of all ages and generations. Lots of big spaces for everyone to gather together to eat, drink or play, and plenty of private spaces for the adults to relax or get away from the group.

Vero Beach offers a wide range of sports activities. Each year, thousands of baseball players and other young athletes come to Vero Beach to take advantage of our Jackie Robinson Training Complex (Dodgertown), just a short drive from Shangri-La Resort. Cyclists and hikers can explore nearby nature trails.

Try your hand at surfing or body boarding on the ocean directly in front of the house, throw the frisbee on the beach, play ping pong or pool near the pool, or just take it easy playing corn hole or swimming pool basketball.

Vero Beach's vibrant cultural scene includes art galleries, exhibits, comedy and Broadway-quality performances at the Riverside Theatre. Nearby museums like the Navy SEAL Museum and Mel Fisher's Treasure Museum highlight the region's history. The Vero Beach Museum of Art showcases contemporary art. Shangri-La Resort itself showcases numerous pieces of Chinese folk arts which have been incorporated into its design, furniture and furnishings. Look carefully and you will notice beautifully detailed carvings and paintings throughout the house, each of which must have taken the talented Chinese artisans of years-gone-by a great deal of time and effort to create. Don't worry, the house is entirely kid and pet friendly!

LOCAL PARKS

Vero Beach boasts a range of excellent parks for outdoor enjoyment. Round Island Riverside Park, only minutes from Shangri-La Resort, is a notable destination for nature enthusiasts. It has a boat ramp and is great for paddleboarding, kayak eco-tours and manatee watching off the boardwalks. Round Island Oceanside Park has a lifeguarded beach and children's play equipment. Just a few minutes' walk from the Round Island Parks, the Oyster Bar Marsh Conservation Area is great for hiking through the mangroves.

All but one of these parks are located nearby Shangri-La Resort on the barrier island: Riverside Park offers huge green spaces, picnic areas, and a fishing pier along the Indian River Lagoon. South Beach Park provides direct access to the Atlantic Ocean with sandy shores and lifeguard stations. Let your dogs run wild at Seaview Dog Park. McKee Botanical Garden, on the mainland, showcases lush landscapes and exotic plants.

Vero Beach is a short divided-highway drive from these AIRPORTS: Vero Beach (local), Melbourne (35 miles), Palm Beach (70 miles), Orlando (100 miles), Fort Lauderdale (125 miles), and Miami (140 miles). Vero Beach is also a short divided-highway drive from these CRUISE SHIP PORTS: Port Canaveral (60 miles), Port of Palm Beach (75 miles), Port Everglades / Fort Lauderdale (95 miles), and Port Miami (160 miles).

Shangri-La Resort is located on the barrier islands, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Indian River Intercoastal Waterway to the west. The home is 1/8th mile down a private unpaved white sand road through a jungle belonging to the property, which is just off the beautiful A1A coastal two lane highway, near the estate section of Vero Beach. No hotels or high-rises for miles in either direction, but not too far from wonderful "old vero" beachside shops and restaurants. Several bridges provide convenient access to nearby mainland grocery and big box shopping.

LOGGERHEAD, GREEN and LEATHERBACK, OH MY!

Vero Beach is one of the most important sea turtle nesting sites in North America. The beach in front of Shangri-La Resort is a popular nesting site for several species of sea turtles, including loggerhead, green and leatherback.

There are steps that you can take to help us protect these magnificent creatures. During Turtle Nesting Season (March 1st to October 31st): never approach nesting or hatching turtles, never walk on or disturb turtle nests, reduce visible light at night by closing ocean-facing curtains and blinds, turn off or reduce lights facing the ocean, and if walking on the beach at night use only red light flashlights (provided in the lending library at Shangri-La Resort).

SPACE EXPLORATION

SpaceX and NASA rocket launches are often visible from the deck at Shangri-La Resort. While the launches are generally quite visible to the naked eye, binoculars are available in the ShangriLa Resort Lending Library. Check calendars for launch dates and times.

Please respect our tranquil community - weddings, parties or other events are never permitted at Shangri-La Resort. Local regulations restrict cars to 5 maximum, and forbid all outdoor amplified music at vacation rentals. Penalties are severe and we appreciate your understanding. Smoking is not permitted in the home. The home is dog friendly (additional fee per dog). The swimming pool is heated (additional fee per day).
