If you are looking for a peaceful country setting complete with star gazing, this is a wonderful vacation getaway. Bring the family or come for a quiet weekend, there's nothing like relaxing on the back deck and listening to the frogs and cicadas. Our Host and Hostess have equipped their home to perfection-we had the best time!
Perhaps the best compliment is this is our 4th time returning! We love the atmosphere so much, we come back year after year. We love Magnolia Ranch!

We can’t say enough positive things about this vacation rental. The spacious grounds and pretty views were so enjoyable. The individual cabin type set up was perfect for our group of friends. It was nice to have the space for everyone to go to bed when they wanted to without being bothered by noise from those staying up. The main house has a fabulous kitchen and everything you could possibly need. Close proximity to the distillery tour was perfect . Thanks for everything! Also, we never ran out of hot water with all of us trying to get ready to go out for the day.
Outstanding place to spend a few days with family and friends
Beautiful property, private and well designed house. Out family likes to cook so where we stay and what is available is upmost important for us. This house has the best equipped kitchen of any place we have stayed. The bedrooms are designed to take advantage of privacy and away from the main living area. Beautiful pond and sitting area. The owner was wonderful and responded to any request we made. You can not go wrong staying here. We will be back.

Beautiful property and home - perfect stay!
Such an incredibly beautiful property. The lodging worked out absolutely perfectly for our group of 4 couples. We all were able to have our own room AND bathroom but then have the main area to cook and hang out together. We loved the views and the added bonus of sweet Tboy. So special! The house and rooms were all updated and clean and had every amenity we could have wanted. The owners were so pleasant to deal with and made sure everything was taken care of. Our group is already talking about coming back to this same property in the future.

We can only say good things about the property and host! The house and property, we're amazing. Perfect for 3 families with kids to relax in and explore. The purpose of the trip was to visit with friends and see the 2024 eclipse. The eclipse was an amazing experience, but even without it our stay would have been perfect. For families with kids the sleeping rooms are separated from the main part of the house, connected by an outside porch. This made putting the kids to bed a breeze and allowed for the adults to enjoy time together without worrying about waking up the kids. 100% would recommend staying here!
The property was beautiful with a pond and deer, and great covered porch for family to gather outside.
The layout was perfect for us. My grown sons had their own suites as did my husband and I. The family room/ kitchen/dining room was a great area to cook together, play games, or watch a movie. Leo was very helpful with restaurant and shopping information. We will definitely book this property again when we are in Austin.

Awesome mini ranch.
We had a fantastic stay. It was like having our own 30 acre ranch. Very private and beautiful. Outside of our room was a pond with a dock. So peaceful. They even have a pet deer that we fed. Simply amazing. Oh and by the way it is next to the famous salt lick barbeque. Off the chart food. Leo and Kim were outstanding hosts. We can't wait to come back. Next time we are staying a week.

Jay, thank you for your kind review! We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the peaceful seclusion of our ranch in SW Austin and the fantastic restaurants around it. Yes, the pond and the pergola on the pier are wonderful and relaxing places. And there is plenty room for the kids to roam.
I'm not sure if you experienced this, but is not uncommon for TBoy (the pet deer) to quietly join you on the dock to peer into the water or even by the campfire as you roast marshmallows in the fire pit. We would love the opportunity to host you and your family again as I hope you know you are welcome back anytime.

We were staying here for my daughter's wedding in Dripping Springs. The accommodations were fantastic, very organized, and every detail on the website was accurate. This is a perfect place for your guests to have their own private room/bath and then come and gather in the main room. The owner provided a handbook with very pertinent information. In addition, he was accessible for any questions to ensure all of our needs were met. We will definitely return for large gatherings and you will have an excellent host!
Another perfect friends vacation at Magnolia Ranch!
This is our 5th year vacationing in the Hill Country at Magnolia Ranch. We found the property absolutely beautiful-the landscaping so pristine-especially for the season. The grass was super green and the pond was so pretty-making a picturesque spot to drink our morning coffee on the dock and patio. Fun Times! We love the layout of this country property- a gorgeous main home to gather together with private rooms (with great air conditioning!) for each of our couple friends. We will be back! We highly recommend Magnolia Ranch to family and friends!
My family and I, 10 of us, stayed at this property for Spring Break and it was fantastic.
The property is beautiful. The three bedrooms were spacious with a full bathroom in each. The main house had plenty of space with a half bathroom as well, and everything was well-appointed.
The place had everything we needed, from any pot or pan we may have needed, laundry detergent, plenty of napkins and toilet paper, some wood to build fires, etc.
There is plenty of space to walk around and explore, and the feeders had the wildlife come out every morning. It was relaxing to sip coffee and watch the birds come and go as well.
Overall a comfortable stay. Clean property with plenty of space for 10 people.
The Driftwood property was tremendous. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay a great experience. Each of the bedrooms has a spacious and update bathroom as well as a mini-fridge for a midnight snack. The common areas are also well appointed with 2 ovens and a Wolf gas range. The TV is huge and seating is ample and comfortable. The inside of this home is nice but outside is even better.
There is a pond and several nature trails, bird feeders everywhere, and an elevated tee box for a marked driving range.
Location is also perfect. It's close to Salt Lick BBQ and the Desert Door Distillery. We were in the area for a wedding in Dripping Springs and it was less than 15 minutes to the center of town.
Great hosts, great property, great location!

We absolutely loved this place! Worked great for our needs. Was well supplied, clean, comfortable.
This place is fantastic! We loved the privacy we had here but it was still conveniently located for the wedding activities we had during our stay. Each morning we enjoyed leisure time for breakfast and coffee outside, enjoying nature (deer, birds, turkey, etc). We loved our visits from T-Boy. The main house as well as the separate bedrooms were well stocked with everything we could need. We've stayed other places where it was only bare necessities, but this place had everything from shower soap & shampoos to all the kitchen supplies you would need, including forks for cooking marshmallows over an outside fire! Check-in and check-out were seamless and easy. Leo was very responsive when we communicated with him. Would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a place to stay in this area and would love to go back again ourselves.

Thank you Vicki, for the thoughtful review! We work hard to make sure everything is perfect for our guests and are very happy to hear that you and your family had a nice, relaxing time. You are all welcome back anytime!
We were in Driftwood for our daughter’s wedding. We had 6 adults and one 7 year old child. The set-up of this home (a main home with several individual suites) worked beautifully for us. With the individual suites and main gathering home, there was as much privacy and quiet space as wanted, or not, by each individual.
All necessary amenities were available. Appliances were top of the line along with a beautifully designed and appointed kitchen. The property was spotless on arrival, easy to find and access. The beds were very comfortable. The grounds were manicured and beautiful, especially at night due to the lighting. While we did not utilize outdoor grills, they were available.
The owner reached out to make sure all was going well and we found everything we needed.
We highly recommend this property.

Peaceful
This was the perfect property for our weekend stay in Austin. We had 8 adults in our group and had plenty of space and privacy, each couple had a private bedroom and bathroom. The bedrooms had a mini dorm fridge which had bottled water and a little bowl of snacks on top. We really appreciated all the extra amenities in the house. The common area in the main house had a large living and kitchen area, perfect for our morning breakfast. The kitchen is a cooks dream!
The outdoors were so glorious that we spent most of our time around the campfire at night laughing and telling stories. During the day we moved under the covered porches to watch the deer, magnificent! There is a pet deer that came to visit throughout the day and night named T Boy. what a gentle little guy!
The owners take a lot of pride in their rental. It was very clean and I would highly recommend this property to any group of travelers.
Thank you Leo for a wonderful weekend in the country!

Absolutely amazing VRBO!!!
I can't speak highly enough about this house. I'd give it a higher rating, if it were an option! We had a party of 8 to include grandparents and teenagers (celebrated a 17th birthday) and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place. We LOVED the concept of having the main house and then 4 individual suites each with their own bathroom (we had 6 girls total). The house had everything you need to cook or grill. Tons of pots and pans and kitchen appliances. The hosts were SUPER easy to work with, friendly and very responsive before and throughout our stay. Very easy access to the house and had very clear instructions on how to use things. Loved the special touch of having waters and snacks in each bedrooms. Beds were all super comfortable - we literally felt right at home. However, I think the most amazing feature about this house was the peaceful setting. We were touring college campuses, the city, etc. and have very busy lives when at home, and it was so nice and very relaxing to come back to the house and have total peace and quiet while watching the deer across the pond. They have two rocking chairs on the front porch that overlook the pond and that quickly became my favorite place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. Not to mention the deer literally come into the yard when you'd least expect them. Simply spectacular! Again, we had nothing but a positive experience with this house - and I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone visiting the Austin area. We were a little further out than we originally wanted to be, but it is definitely worth the few extra minutes in the car.

Jill, WOW! Thank you for that super review and thank you and your beautiful family for choosing to stay at Magnolia Ranch! We very much appreciated how well you took care of our place and how clean you left it at the end of your stay. Any host would be lucky to have as classy of a family as you visit their home!
Again, thank you for the kind words and please come visit us again! You and your family are always welcome!
We have now stayed at this beautiful location on two occasions. The accommodations are very clean and extremely comfortable. Leo is a top-notch host as he responds quickly to any and all questions and checks to be sure all is well during the stay. We have found our stays to be very calm and peaceful. This is most definitely a family favorite and will book again should we return to the area next year.

About the host
Hosted by Leo Cormier
Our family has called Texas home since the mid-1990s, but our roots are in Southwest Louisiana, where good food, family gatherings, and Southern hospitality are simply a way of life. We raised our six children here, and now enjoy spending time with our growing family, including our grandchildren, whenever everyone can gather in one place.
One of the reasons we love this ranch is that it was designed for exactly those kinds of gatherings. Whether it's sharing meals, relaxing on the porch, enjoying the outdoors, or spending an evening around the fire pit, it's a place where family and friends can reconnect and slow down for a while.
Leo has always had a passion for cooking and completed culinary training at Le Cordon Bleu in Austin. That love of food inspired us to create a kitchen that's as enjoyable to cook in as it is to gather around. From backyard barbecues to traditional Louisiana crawfish boils, some of our favorite memories have been made around good food, good conversation, and the people we love most. We hope your stay creates those same kinds of memories for you.
Why they chose this property
We fell in love with this property because it's something that's becoming increasingly rare—a truly private 36-acre ranch surrounded by woods and open pasture, yet still just minutes from both Austin and Dripping Springs. From the porch, you'll often see deer, songbirds, and other wildlife gathering around the pond, while never seeing another home. It offers the peace and quiet of the Texas Hill Country without sacrificing the convenience of nearby restaurants, wineries, shopping, and entertainment.
When we designed the home, we had our own family in mind. With six children, we wanted a place where everyone could gather together while still enjoying their own private space. That vision inspired the unique layout: a central main house for cooking, dining, and relaxing, complemented by two detached guest houses just steps away that together provide five spacious bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. It's a layout that's perfect for extended families, multiple couples, wedding weekends, and friends traveling together.
One of our favorite things about the ranch is enjoying coffee on the porch while watching wildlife at the pond, then ending the day around the fire pit beneath a sky full of stars. At the same time, you're only minutes from the wineries and breweries of Texas Wine Country, iconic restaurants like Salt Lick BBQ and Trattoria Lisina, and all the music, dining, and excitement that make Austin such a special destination. For us, it's the best of both worlds—and we hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do.
What makes this property unique
What makes this property truly unique is the combination of complete privacy and exceptional convenience. It's rare to find a secluded 36-acre ranch where you can watch deer gather at the pond, enjoy quiet evenings beneath a sky full of stars, and still be just minutes from Austin, Dripping Springs, and Texas Wine Country.
We've tried to create more than just a vacation rental—we've created a place where families and friends can reconnect. Whether you're enjoying coffee on the porch, exploring the trails, practicing your short game on the private wedge range (bring your clubs and golf balls—we'll provide the shag bag), or gathering around the fire pit at day's end, we hope you'll feel at home here.
Cooking and sharing meals have always been a big part of our family's life, so we've equipped the ranch with a kitchen designed for people who enjoy preparing meals together. We want every guest to leave with wonderful memories of time spent with the people who matter most. If there's anything we can do to make your stay even more enjoyable, we're always happy to help.
