This is a great cabin in a beautiful place. We really enjoyed staying here. It was away from everything, very nice inside and super clean. It had everything we needed to cook meals. It has a great firepit. We enjoyed having four bedrooms. After a thunderstorm, the mist came in over the hills and it was very pretty. My family enjoyed the goats. There was a curious fawn in with them most of the day. This was a super chill place for us to unwind and spend some quality time together.
Nice retreat from the city life. House is well-kept and the host is very accommodating and friendly. The proximity to the meramec river for floating is a nice bonus.
This cabin was nice for what we needed. We are a group of friends who take a yearly float trip at Garrison’s. This cabin was about 30 minutes away, but was way better than camping. The only thing that would have made it better would be wifi so we could check in on our kids at home.
Sam and Nora were so welcoming—as well as patient answering my kids’ million questions about goats and rocks and everything in between. The kids loved feeding the goats cut up apples and splashing in the creek. I loved looking at the stars at night after they fell asleep. It was a great week away from it all. We hope to visit again!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Relaxing and Peaceful
Overall the house was just as the listing indicated. Country setting and very peaceful. House was clean, beds were fairly comfortable.
A few suggestions would be to allow access to a washer and dryer. Also the towels had a musty/smokey smell to them, but none of the other bedding had a smell.
Overall, for the price, we were pleased with our experience.
We are 2 couples in our seventies who like to canoe Missouri streams but prefer a private cabin over the lodging at Float Outfitters which can be noisy and crowded. This is our 2nd stay here. It is wonderfully isolated yet a short drive to the put in place on the river. Very pleased with the cabin and the owners.
We had the most wonderful time at the Hinch Creek cabin. The kids especially loved the upstairs bedroom and of course, the goats! We also enjoyed going down to the creek and catching crawdads. A good time was had by all
It’s a mile and a half off the pavement and from the Meremac river. Just as country as it should be. We stayed in this cozy cabin for the weekend for my sons wedding. It is 13 miles from Heartland Farms and a very peaceful stay after an eventful time. The property owners were very friendly and helpful. The property was roomy and clean. We enjoyed resting away from the busy city. One down fall for the kids was that there was not any WiFi or internet but I caught them playing checkers and having a great time together without all the technology which will warm the heart. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Our family had such an enjoyable time staying at this house. We spent most of one day on our float trip. The rest of the time was spent at the house. We had a great time cooking on the grill and playing games. No internet was great since it kept the teenagers off of their phones. We recommend this house to anyone looking for time away. Sam and Nora are great.
Cabin is off the beaten path in the middle of hills and woods...the solitude was amazing. We mistakenly moved in to the wrong cabin so make sure you are in the one you rented. Nora graciously notified us and we moved to the proper one. It’s a lovely cabin for we four seniors who only used two of the four very nice bedrooms. The beds were quite comfortable but the pillows were too hard for all of us so we’d suggest bringing your own if that’s an issue. It’s a wonderful location and a very nice cabin....a great place to get away from it all. Thanks to the owners for hosting us.
The cabin was outdated and not very clean. The chair and couch in the living room are very uncomfortable and old. The beds were very comfortable. VRBO said that the door would be open and the key would be on the table. The door was locked - had to visit the host to get key. Awesome setting and loved the goats across from the cabin.
