Farhaven Guest Cottage

Private cottage on secluded 76 acre working organic farm. Hiking, stargazing, birding, organic gardens, greenhouse, solar, and rain water. Horses and well behaved dogs welcome $10 per night each, limit 2. Keep dogs leashed outside; dogs not allowed on furniture. Our horses not for hire.
Swimming, State Parks nearby: Garner, 22miles, 30 minutes. Concan, 30 miles, 35 min. Lost Maples, 12 miles 16 minutes

Hosts Mark and Nancy were gracious and accommodating. The cottage is precious and so cozy, but our favorite amenity was the night sky with a rare view of the Milky Way! We appreciated the offer to explore the beautiful property and truly enjoyed doing so. We’d love to stay again in the future!

This was our second time visiting this property and will not be our last. We love it. It is very serene. The night sky is amazing out here. And the little fresh produce stand at the front gate is a nice option for those who like to cook at the cottage.

Fantastic relaxing stay

Wonderful quiet and clean play to stay over the weekend. Hosts were very gracious and we loved seeing the cows and horses. Will definitely be back.

The farhaven guest cottage was a wonderful stay! Clear instructions to get inside, very safe area. The cottage was very clean and welcoming upon arrival. I loved the beautiful dark skies at night for stargazing, and getting to see the animals on the property! Very peaceful and serene place. Mark and Nancy were very communicative and quickly fixed an issue I had with the coffee machine. Great location for visiting the state parks in the area, or just enjoying some peace and quiet at the farm!

Our stay at Farhaven was nothing short of perfeft! From the start of the reservation process to check out was so easy! It was late at night when we got there. Mr. Mark called me and stayed on the phone with us until we pulled in the carport at the cottage. Everything was prepared, clean, stocked, and so accommodating! We had such a busy stay, I'm hoping our next (Yes, there will be a next) stay we can spend more time at the property to enjoy everything it has to offer!

Quiet Getaway in the Middle of Hill Country

This was our second visit to Farhaven and we enjoyed it just as much as the first! Our kids enjoyed seeing the animals on the farm and hearing from Mark about the animals and his beekeeping. The property is quiet and relaxing. The cottage we stayed in is always clean and well kept.I highly recommend you check out Farhaven to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

Fantastic private getaway

We rented the guest cottage for my bridal team and I the night before my wedding. Access was very easy, cottage was very spacious and private. Also extremely clean! Very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend!

Peaceful Weekend Retreat

We wanted quiet and this totally fit the bill. Great base for hiking in Lost Maples and Garner State park. The place is simple but clean and comfortable. We loved our weekend on the farm. Exploring by day and star watching from the patio at night.

This was an amazing experience. The property was amazing and Mark and Nancy are great. Very relaxing weekend with some fun at the close by parks. I recommend this place for a low key family get away!!

Beautiful area.It was the perfect size for a family of 5. Enjoyed walking to see mama cow and baby calf each morning. Played board games provided and enjoyed the disconnect from our daily routine. Thank you for a comfortable stay.

A Peaceful and Friendly Retreat

Farhaven is a wonderful escape from the busyness of every day life! The property is secluded, yet the cottage has great amenities and is very clean and well stocked. We appreciated the variety of farm animals and gardens available to experience and explore. Mark was very accommodating and was keen to share with us what was happening on the farm.We will definitely be returning!

Mark and Nancy are wonderful people. They took time to show our family around and show their horses to us. Our stay was outstanding! Everything super clean and neatly in place. Their cottage was way bigger than we expected. Loved our stay and planning to go back soon.

Lucky Eclipse

We were fortunate to stay here for the eclipse. Great view from the horse arena. The Utopia Gardens agricultural operation was also a big plus, with fresh eggs and vegetables. Our hosts were very gracious. Thanks!
