What an amazing home base for the Redwoods!! We stayed a few days and were able to walk to trails, drive a few miles to well known hiking sites, the beach, park stations, and a whole lot more. Carole was very good about letting us know to shop for groceries before we got there and was friendly, informative and responsive. The farmhouse is very cozy and our boys enjoued the lofts. We had a great time exploring the forests, learning about the area, history of logging, whaling and a lot more. We could have happily stayed another week. A memorial spring break for the whole family :)
We loved this place! The herd of elk greeted us when we arrived and passed through each morning we were there. The proximity to the park was superb, with trails available from the house as well. We appreciated being able to spend our days in the park while allowing us to have the comforts of home for the night.
We were walking distance and short drives to the Redwoods, and minutes from the beach. There are some supplies not far away, and small airport less than an hour. We loved the space, cozy and beautiful, and perfect for our needs. We are so thankful!
My whole family enjoyed this property. So easy to hop on 101 and head to the beach, or State Park, or the market, or to see the Elk!!! Loved the fireplace, and kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinners.
You can’t beat this location if you are here to hike! The place was well stocked and clean. Open floor plan so I would recommend to be very comfortable with the people you travel with. We will definitely be staying here again next year.
Absolutely amazing and as advertised - and incredibly close to two of the best hikes, Trillium Falls and Fern Canyon. The perfect home base for our week in the Redwoods. Thank you!
Quite comfortable and spacious, well appointed, and in the midst of some awe inspiring scenery and naturalist locations to explore. We would have loved to stay longer.
We loved staying at the contemporary farmhouse. The house was well maintained and comfortable, prefect for the two of us and our two kids. Carole gave us great advice about where to visit and hike in the Redwoods State and National Park. We loved that we could do hikes directly from the farmhouse. Carole was also quick to respond to any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.
We enjoyed this apartment on top of a barn. There were some rescue animals staying for the summer, so it was nice seeing them. The apartment was very clean and spacious. The pictures don’t do it justice.
Really nicely decorated and cozy cabin with beautiful architecture and interesting details. Quiet location during the fall, and plenty of nearby hikes. Five separate locations to sleep but all are open to the main space. The only internal door is to the bathroom, which is off the master. Nice appliances in the kitchen. Plenty of cozy blankets in the linen closet. We hiked the Ladybird Johnson trail in the rain and it was lovely. The mist around the tall trees made it feel primal, quiet, and restorative.
The house is unique and affords privacy as there are no other properties nearby. It is easily accessible off of Highway 101 and is close to Prairie Creek State Park and Redwood National Park. It was a good place for us to stop for two nights on our way to Oregon.
Lovely property in the perfect location for our visit to Redwood National Park and the various state parks. One of the hikes on our "must do" list could be done right from the property, and others were only a short distance away. The communication with the owner was outstanding, she was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to assist us given our travels were during the numerous severe rainstorms passing through the area.
Oh man! This property is in a prime location at literally the beginning of multiple trails. We couldn’t believe our luck in choosing to stay here. The rental was clean and warm! My husband and I have very hectic schedules and we needed time to unwind. This was ideal!!
We enjoyed our stay, everything was as advertised. Had elk around the house most every morning. Close to lots of hiking. For us older folks there is 21 steps to the upper main house. Contacted the owner a couple times she was quick to respond & very helpful.
Unique. Clean. Beautiful. Good location for trails, adventure, and exploring The Redwood National Park. Make sure to pay attention to the floor plan and layout of the house, it worked fine for our family but could be difficult for some. Overall a great experience!
