We had a great stay. The location was great - an easy walk to museums, restaurants and shops. The apartment was exactly as advertised and very quiet and cosy. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It comfortably slept 3 of us, with privacy easily achieved for the person inhabiting the main living area(the couch was converted into roughly a queen sized bed). Both the couch and the bed were comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are equipped with everything you need to ensure a convenient stay. You are a quick 5 min(or less) walk to everything in the Innere Stadt area. Highly recommended.

No hot water or internet
The apartment is in a great location, but the host has the hot water on a timer, and it is only available between 6:30 and 7:30 in the morning or something like that for showers. The rest of the time it was room temperature. And on the first of the month, the Internet cut out. It wasn’t a router problem. We were able to connect to that just fine. The router wasn’t getting a signal, like maybe the host hadn’t paid the bill. This was a work trip for me, so the shower and the internet were crucial. I cannot recommend staying at this property unless you don’t care about those things.

We sent the proprietor the following message on the of our 3-day stay. We never received a reply!

The location is great and the unit is.quite spacious. There are a few suggestions we'd like to make and if any of these can be rectified while we are still here, that would be great. (nothing was rectified!)
1. We could find no sheets to properly make up the sofabed in the living room.
⁶2. The kettle in the kitchen does not seem to work.
3. Either the TV does not work, or we haven't figured out how to make it work.
4. Your cleaners might want to be more thorough in cleaning the huge amt ofv dust under the bed
To be fair, we couldn’t assess all the aspects of the property as we couldn’t stay there, but the only way to leave a review is by completing each category.
All was well when we were communicating with Egor. At some point “Marcus” became our point of contact. After paying in full we tried contacting him 2-3 times to ask if we could pay a fee for an earlier check-in & when we would get the checkin details. 2 weeks went by with no response. We tried again - no response. We called Vrbo 2 days before our date of departure & the day before. VRBO was not helpful at all. They suggested we fly from Chicago to Vienna & go to the address - if we still hadn’t heard from the property manager with access info, only then could we get a refund. For obvious reasons we were not willing to do that.Marcus finally responded when we were at the airport - 1st informing us he’d sent multiple emails (he had not & that we weren’t using his preferred mode of communication - email. He had never informed us that we should use email (we only got one email from him with tourist info) & have always communicated with property owners via Vrbo app. Then in a follow-up email he said we had never submitted the registration form (supposedly required by Austrian law) which we had never received. It seems that one of our prior communications might have been a trigger to inform us they hadn’t received the registration form. We did get a rental agreement/rules which maybe we were supposed to sign, but was never notified we needed to submit that before access info could be provided.
We made a last minute hotel reservation 12 hours before we were leaving & only heard back from Marcus when we were at the airport. That is too late to have any confidence in the property or it’s manager!
We have rented via Vrbo multiple times & have always had a great experience. This is the first negative experience we had - and given how unhelpful Vrbo was/is, I can’t imagine we will do it again. Where is their protection for the guests???
