Look no further....Lift your eyes up to the mountains in this beautiful home. You will find it at the end of a windy road (6.9 miles off of 421, between Boone and Wilkesboro). Buck Mountain is a private gated community which offers many amenities. The house offers stunning panoramic views from a wraparound porch on the upper level and large deck on the lower level, and a hot tub from which to enjoy the view. The lot is 3 acres with gravel paths, beautiful landscaping and a fire pit perfect for stargazing as you roast marshmallows. You will find yourself on a getaway the minute you walk in the door, smore’s gift basket included!
Inside the home you will find everything needed for a comfortable stay. There are two bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen-size bed and a private full bathroom. Downstairs there is a spacious bedroom with twin bunkbeds and a queen-size bed with separate full bathroom and a washer and dryer. If you are a larger group with children, we may be able to accommodate you, please inquire. Guests can enjoy the upstairs living room with large gas fireplace or the open living area downstairs. Upstairs and downstairs have large flat-screen TV’s with live TV options, Utube TV, and Amazon Prime basic. Guests can sign into their Netflix accounts. We have listened to our guests that great TV is a priority. The internet is lightning fast!
Aside from great TV options, we hope you have come to enjoy the great outdoors and fabulous views. The upstairs porch has comfortable rocking chairs and Adirondack chairs. The downstairs porch has a large picnic table, Adirondack chairs, and a hot-tub. Also, for your relaxation and enjoyment, there is a charcoal grill for cooking out and hammocks for resting in the great outdoors. There are so many windows and wildlife photographs that you will feel like you are outside when you are inside!!
The kitchen has been outfitted with every necessary appliance and convenience. There is a lovely rustic dining room. Hardwood floors enhance the luxurious cabin feel of the home. Every item is here to make your stay comfortable. You will need to provide food/drinks, and charcoal. We suggest that you do this before arriving, as the nearest grocery store is in Wilkesboro (over 30 minutes away). Once you are here, you won't want to leave!
*Note: on top of our usual thorough cleaning in between every group of guests, we are now disinfecting all frequently touched things such as light switches, door knobs, etc. We always wash all laundry between guests, clean all bathrooms with disinfectants, wipe down all kitchen areas with disinfectants, and vacuum and steam mop all floors. We strive to provide a clean and safe environment for all our guests. If you have any questions about our cleaning practices, feel free to reach out.
The home is about 40 minutes from downtown Boone, 30 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and 50 minutes to Blowing Rock.

Come and enjoy our home and make some memories. We do offer discounted rates to church groups or guests in full-time ministry or service. Longer-term rental available.
A few notes: This is a wilderness area and does have wildlife. Guests should exercise caution and common sense when enjoying the great outdoors. Small children should be supervised when outside. Due to our mountainous location, lady bugs and stink bugs are present. They are harmless though. The road is gravel in some places. The house is easily accessible, but please note that a 4-wheel drive vehicle would be preferable during the winter. Longer-term stay is available at competitive rates. Although dogs are allowed, we ask that you please keep them off of the furniture. Only one dog is allowed. We do not allow cats.

Other things to note: Outdoor Security Cameras. There are outdoor cameras overlooking the driveway, backyard, and main entrance. These are not typically monitored. We live in an isolated area and it offers an extra measure of security. Please do not obstruct or deface these cameras in any way.
Please use caution when using the fire pit. Unattended fires are not allowed.
