This location was phenomenal, it provided an outstanding view while still being close to downtown. The property had everything we needed to recover from long days of hiking or a night in downtown Gatlinburg. Checking in was easy, and communication was great. I would absolutely stay here again!
Loved the cabin and owners! They communicate very well and have very helpful instruction on everything. Views are amazing as is the location! Would stay again!
We loved this location. It was close enough to the city but far enough away to enjoy nature. Every morning my husband and I would sit on the porch drinking coffee and enjoying the wonderful view. Loved the book they have were you can read previous renters experiences and suggestions. We already plan on booking again.
Everything was great! Loved the fact that the owner labeled things and left detailed instructions on the things we needed to know about the house. Bears every day!
Cabin was very clean and comfortable and everything was in good working order. Bob the owner was very easy to work with and made sure everything was good with us. I would definatly rent this property again.
Absolutely beautiful. My 2nd time here. Got to see 3 bears! One being on the porch trying to steal the BBQ tongs. The cabin is well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice having a washer and dryer. Hottub was so relaxing. Close to everything but far away from everyone. Great restaurants. Recommend the Blue Moose for a burger!! Bennetts for BBQ! There was construction going on at a few cabins. So if that is something that would bother you I would ask about it before booking. I cant say enough about our stay and we cant wait to come back. P.s. if you see trash pick it up !
The cabin is very comfortable and has everything you need.....linens,coffee pot, all kitchen supplies. The view is beautiful. The drive up the mountain is challenging if you are not used to tight bends and inclines. I had a wonderful time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin. The communication was great, check-in very easy, cabin clean and welcoming. We loved the Hot Tub and used it every night after long hikes.
Bob, was very quick to reply to emails, giving us great recommendations of the local area.
We would definitely stay at Wa Tu Vu Cabin again, and highly recommend this location!
This cabin was amazing… very clean, and so charming. Peaceful and secluded. We didn’t want for a single thing. And the view! The hot tub ( with a view) was a tired hiker’s dream. Our first time in the Smokies and we felt so incredibly lucky to have found this cabin. Would recommend it to anyone. Hope to come back with family!
We just got back home from our stay at the cabin and we loved it. The cabin was perfect for our family of 4, it was close to downtown, the view was great especially in the morning and from the hot tub in the evening and Bob was great to work with. He reached out several weeks in advance with all the details and recommendations of places to eat in town. My wife and I already talked about returning in two years for our 25th Anniversary.
This was our first time renting a cabin. We wanted the experience for our trip to Gatlinburg with our preteen grandson. This cabin did not disappoint. We did know what to expect but the owner Bob was absolutely amazing. Very professional very sincere. Very comfortable. The cabin was homey and warm. Everything labeled. Non was always available to answer any questions we had. I highly recommend this cabin and any property Bob and Carol have. A wonderful experience overall
The location of the cabin was great! The cabin was exactly what we needed! It was clean and well furnished. The only issue we had was it smelled musty.
We were thrilled when we pulled up with the location of the cabin. It was exactly what we wanted and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our host were amazing and I plan on renting again.
Check in was eas. Keys were in lock box. Very clean. Loved the place. There were a few cosmetic flaws which I emailed Sara about, but was very beautiful. Definitely would go back. Very peaceful.
This cabin could use a little maintenance in some areas especially the master bath ceiling but overall was very clean had a wonderful view of the mountains. I would not hesitate to stay here again

Hello, We are the Howards, welcome to our cabin Wa-Ta-Vu. We purchased it in July 2007. We have remodeled every room and have decorated it with pictures from local Gatlinburg artists. There are many old pictures of Gatlinburg taken in the 50's. We are constantly working on more changes to the cabin. We are do-it-yourself types and enjoy working on it. Thanks for visiting!! Why they chose this property
Has a Fantastic View
What makes this property unique
The main things we enjoy at the cabin is the peace and solitude. The view is spectacular of Mount Leconte. In the winter with binoculars you can see the lodge on Mount Leconte. We also enjoy sitting in the hottub and just looking at the mountains.
