What a relaxing retreat! I can't decide what liked best about our stay.. We were greeted by Francie and the hounds, who made us feel like family immediately. The beautiful cabin had all the modern comforts, while still feeling rustic. We enjoyed the daily hound visits and nightly stargazing. We will be back!

It was wonderful to meet you and hope to see you again. Thank you! Have a great summer. Best, Francie
We had an amazing stay, but the downstairs furniture needs an upgrade. Very uncomfortable furniture. Queen bed was very comfortable. Views are outstanding. Franci was very friendly. There if you need her, otherwise just let us be to enjoy her beautiful Ranch. We would definitely stay there again. Thank-you Franci!!

We LOVED our stay at HD Ranch! Frances went out of her way to make our stay a memorable experience for our son. The cabin is the perfect size and getting visits from the pups each day was one of the highlights of our entire trip! We will definitely be back!

Thank you for your lovely review and I can’t wait to have you return!!!
The cabin is comfortable, cozy and very peaceful - a great escape to unwind and relax. Francie you are a gem of a host. You and your staff keep the ranch very well maintained. We loved watching the deer in the fields, horses at the barn, and the amazing star gazing at night. Cooked out on the patio and felt free to explorer the ranch. The daily visits from the hounds were a treat. We will definitely be back for another enjoyable, relaxing getaway.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments. I am very happy you enjoyed yourself on your holiday here at the ranch. Looking forward to seeing you both again. Best, Francie
We really enjoyed our 4 day stay in Francie's beautiful cabin. Honestly the photos and description dont do it justice. The cabin is akin to an art museum built to provide two story views of the San Juan Mtns.Directions were detailed and accurate as the rural setting warrants. If you are looking for a quiet, elegant getaway this is it. Wildlife and birds mingled with lowing cattle each morning. Have yr coffee on the porch! Vistas of rolling range, attentive and friendly four-legged companions looking for the treats in the kitchen cookie jar.May need instructions for heating system. Pass by riders in ring practicing Eastern saddle.
I would recommend this place 110%. The host was very friendly. It was a very clean well kept up property and very secluded and beautiful view. Very relaxing. And the wonderful hound dogs that came to visit you was the highlight of my vacation.

Thank you so much for staying at HD during your Christmas holiday. It was my pleasure and the hounds to have you here! Please come back!!! Happy New Year. Best, Francie
We loved this cabin on the horse ranch! We could go out to sightsee during the day and come back to quietness. Highly recommend staying here. Cabin is exactly how it’s pictured so there were no surprises.
My husband and I stayed for a few nights for our anniversary. The location is beautiful and we really liked the cabin. It was well stocked and clean. The only problem we had was when we wet to leave our car wouldn’t start. An animal climbed into the engine and chewed all the wires. We had to have it towed into town. It took an extra day to fix it and cost almost 700.00 plus a car rental. Now I realize this could happen anywhere. But when Frances told us it happened to her the previous week, well that kind of stung. Now she will inform her guest and put deterrent measures under the hood. Just kinda felt like some kind of refund would have been nice. She did allow us to stay an extra night at no charge

I felt awful as did my foreman. The situation with my truck was very different as it sat all winter and they made a nest. My guests right before you stayed for four nights without an issue and you had no issue for two nights. I really thought the squirrels just liked my truck that sat all winter and made a nest up at my house. I offered you as many nights for free as you needed and the use of my car and Garret offered to pick you up. Garret mentioned you fed the squirrels carrots? I have never had a problem in 21 years and we are doing our best to readicate the problem.
Great secluded place in a country and very quiet. Not far from Durango. The sky’s are great for star gazing at night. The hounds are definitely friendly.
Our stay at HD ranch could not have been better. A very secluded ranch, but not very far from the town of Durango. The house was clean and the surroundings exceptionally beautiful. Our stay far exceeded our expectations and we would highly recommend it to other traveler.

The Ranch is a perfect, quiet location. Located near Durango, we were able to venture out to the Mesa Verde and Silverton. I would definitely recommend a stay there.

Why they chose this property
If you want a very unusual getaway and enjoy the beauty of this area with 360 degrees views of the mountains and mesas plus view much wildlife and of course the beautiful horses eating in pastures.
What makes this property unique
Everyone has told me that the guest house is much better than the pictures. You have your own deck to view the wildlife and two decks to watch the stars. Inside it is warm and inviting to relax. Everyone says they have never relaxed more than when they are here. Many enjoy walking the ranch and enjoying the views and horses.
