This was nearly perfect for us. Waterfalls! Forest and The Big Lake! Packer v. Browns on TV! Fine kitchen with gas range and fancy fridge. Clean and cozy, Stairs a hazard for toddlers and elders? Too close to highway for dog safety?

Fun in the UP

This clean, cozy cabin in the UP is near a bunch of waterfalls, trails, and an hour drive to the Porcupine Mts. The restaurant is 100 yards away and had very good food. Our dog loved being there too!

Warm & cozy Tiny House, well equipped !

Great quiet location by park & woods. A yummy restaurant nearby. Only a few faults : the front door knob falls off, some non functioning upstairs lights. But we would book again.

WONDERFUL! Such a cute and clean cabin! The decor was adorable and they had all the amenities we could have EVER needed. On site laundry, for FREE!!??!! That alone made my day after a full week of travel. At one point, my husband needed some clear packing tape for something (how random is that?!) We thought for sure we were out of luck and would have to drive up to Walmart (conveniently located in town not far away) but we hunted around and in the drawer under the microwave VOILA!!! A full roll of clear packing tape! Thats just crazy! How would the hosts even know to make that available, but they did and it was just what we needed at the time.Super great location and close to town(s) and sightseeing locations. For dinner we ran across the border to Wisconsin and ate at a Mexican restaurant called El Tarasco for my 50th b-day and O.M.G., it was so good! Only about 10-15 minutes drive from cabin and TOTALLY WORTH IT! I highly recommend it.If I HAVE TO think of a "down side" of the cabin I would say........(let me think a minute, I'll come up with something.......) No curtain on the large glass front door. That gave me the heebie-jeebies at night but then again, its the middle of the U.P., theres no one around so what does it matter? We would absolutely, without a doubt, 100%, guaranteed, stay here again. It was WONDERFUL!!!!!(Dogs loved it, too!)

Excellent small place

My children upon entering mentioned that it was an incredible layout. Despite the small size the place can accommodate many people. Previous guest took the dishwasher pods and coffee. I failed to contact Jerry in time for him to fix that but that is my only complaint. There was a Kwik Trip 3 miles away so I was quickly able to grab some.

bessemer vacation 2023

The location of this property was in fact close to all the sights we wanted. We were only 15 minutes from most activities we were interested in. I wish the place was a little cleaner than it was. The door handle fell off of the screen door when I went to secure it closed. There was no place to sit outside for a fire and the barbeque wasn't hooked up to propane. The washing machine and dryer was a definite bonus especially with our four granddaughters. Overall, it suited its purpose, kept us dry and gave us a place to sleep.

Cute cozy cabin, but needs some repairs.

Cute cabin, good location for skiing and exploring waterfalls. Driveway was well plowed. Radiant flooring was very warm, especially in the bathroom. Pretty small, so if you are a larger person you may not be comfortable. Stairs are very steep and had a few nails exposed (my daughter tore her sock on one). Cabin could use a deep cleaning - there were cobwebs in the master bedroom and refrigerator hasn't been cleaned in a while. Dining table top is not affixed properly, and very unstable when eating or playing games. One of the dining chairs has a nail exposed and I sat on it, ouch! Light not working over the sink, so difficult to see washing dishes. Overall, it was fine for what we needed but does need a cleaning and some repairs.

Nice place but had some issues

The owner called us asked us if we could make beds, the house keeper hhad to leave unexpectedly. Upon arriving the house was a complete mess, food reminants all over, dog hair inches thick all over floor, furnture and the beds. Contacted owner and sent picks. The owner was very apologetic and tried everything to get someone to clean cabin but it was so bad he needed to hire a company. The owner refunded our money in a timely matter and offered to put us up in a motel for a night. At least he stood by knowing things were not rightand teied to make it right. That didnt help our dilemma of now not having a olace to stay 4 hours from home. We did recieve payment back and last we talked to owner he was sending a check for the vbro charges as well, hope he follows through as VBRO was not willing to help us one bit. VBRO customer service is terrible and would not help us find a replacment stay location.

Retired from the Chicago area in 2013. Bought the cabin next door in 2010 and moved up here in 2013.

Why they chose this property

Always enjoyed the small town feel and the rural setting. Own and live in the cabin next door, and when this property became available in 2017 purchased it as a guest house for family and friends. Now want to share this relaxing lifestyle and area with others.

What makes this property unique

Quiet peaceful nights, star gazing, sitting around the campfire after a day of fishing, skiing, hiking, snowmobiling, etc.
Plus all the modern conveniences of home in a relaxing setting.
Even rainy days can be fun for the family bonding over a board game around the dining room table.
