1.) Low ceilings - I’m about 5’9” and have hit my head more times than I care to remember in this place. 2.) Spiders - massive spiders in this place. We’ve killed at least 4 saucer plate sized spiders (maybe this should be #1)3.) Bedroom of doors - we counted 5 doors in the smaller bedroom - one of which leads to the kitchen. Not horrible just weird4.) Location is great - love being in Bryant.

This apartment is a very cozy finished basement with some low ceilings but as a 5'9" I was able to fit just fine. The living room and the bedroom have skylights which were really awesome when it was raining! Parking is available and plentiful around the neighborhood. Great place!

The unit appears to be a renovated garage. Floors were very cold. There were heaters in every room. Shower could use an update as the shower head points to a corner of the shower and can’t be moved or adjusted.

The apartment is a ground floor addition originally built for the homeowners’ children. The building is heated with a furnace, I provide room heaters to accommodate individual preference. I check with guests when they arrive so they can communicate any needs and ask questions. I will happily provide more rugs, or a pair of slippers,

We recently completed a 12 day stay and greatly appreciated the value, quiet and safe surroundings, and excellent location of this unit. Communication with the host was prompt and polite, and she happily adjusted our dates. The off-street alley parking, garden access, and welcoming note and muffins were also lovely, thoughtful touches. The unit is well-equipped with all necessary appliances, including an induction cooktop, electric kettle, hairdryer, and fans. (Note: the iron’s stand was broken when we went to use it upon arrival). We appreciate that this apartment was created under the existing house, making architectural design challenging. However, guests should note there is a high and unusual step from the main room down to the kitchen and bathroom.Additionally, the property layout and upkeep need attention. We were surprised to find that what appeared to be three bedrooms on the website is actually two bedrooms and an uncomfortable sofa (not a pull-out). General maintenance was also lacking; we noted a wonky chair, a very squeaky bed frame, and loose or taped fittings on the lamps and doors.Addressing these upkeep issues and clarifying the bedding arrangement online would significantly elevate the guest experience for an otherwise great property.

I i enjoyed hosting your larger group with extra bedding, towels and supplies; a lovely group-and it was my pleasure to host you world visitors to Seattle! Note: The sofa is comfortable as a single bed, and you are correct, it is not a pullout big bed and mot counted as a bedroom. This is a two bedroom titled listing. I encourage reading the Description, photo captions and reviews before booking. The one step is standard height. There is a pocket door with a note to slide it closed rather than pull. I am happy you enjoyed the apartment’s location, spaciousness and budget-conscious rate.

Needs some improvement

The location and garden were wonderful. The host was super nice. However, the apartment was just okay. The place is a bit of a bargain for a reason. It met our needs but it wasn't special. Some suggestions for improvement that are hopefully helpful: - Tall and large people will find the bathroom ceiling challenging and the small shower hard to use. This should be emphasized in the listing. - The television should not be described as large. It is small and had issues with constant flashing. - The mattress on the queen sized bed was old and sunk down. - The apartment felt like a gathering of old uncomfortable furniture and well used objects. Small changes could be made to make it nicer.

Summering In Seattle

Our little family had a wonderful time doing a long-term stay at this location. And I must say again - location - location - location is everything. Quick walks to restaurants, cafe and a fun longer walk or short drive (2 min) to bookstores, parks, grocery stores. We spent our month driving all over neighborhoods visiting other parks and just immersing ourselves in the city. There are a few items that I gave to Joy (the host) as a recommendation and don’t expect it to impact my review much! The primary bedroom is plenty large with lots of space to place all of your things and the small bedroom is perfectly fit for small children, but you do have to access the laundry room through that location so if you’re a late night laundry kind of family - you’ll have to wait, but that shouldn’t sway you at all either. If you have a very rambunctious child younger than 5 i wouldn’t use the smaller bedroom due to some concrete steps that aren’t pictured. We had a bit of a time keeping our 2.5 from playing on them - as he crawled out of the bed in the middle of the night and fell. Because of his age - that’s the only reason I wouldn’t suggest kids younger than 5.

We were grateful to call this place home for a month, though it definitely came with some quirks. As many reviews have mentioned (and I feel it’s worth repeating), the ceilings in the back portion of the property are extremely low—particularly in the kitchen, bathroom, and second bedroom. My partner bumped his head several times, the shower was quite tight, and the low ceiling meant having to duck under the shower head. The kitchen setup was also a bit makeshift. It had an induction stovetop and a toaster, but since both were plugged into the same power strip, you couldn’t use them at the same time without tripping the circuit breaker. It made for a hard kitchen experience, so we didn't cook too often. One thing that wasn’t completely clear beforehand: dogs aren’t allowed in the backyard. Instead, they have to be let out into the alleyway behind the unit. This worked fine for my dogs, but if yours need a secure, fenced yard, keep that in mind.On the plus side, the in-unit laundry, parking spot right in front of the door, and reliable A/C were huge conveniences. The space itself feels really old school, but overall it served its purpose well for our stay.
