Oceanfront at He'eia Bay! Private- Family Friendly House and Cottage

Raised in Kona- we have many friends and family that know this area well. Get the "local" information on what to do and where to go! My dad Capt Jack, used to have a boat dock in Keauhou and was a charter Capt. here along the Kona Coast for over 60 years. Other owners in our Hui include the craftsman that built the home, who was born and raised on this island, a well respected Honolulu born and raised attorney, and another native to Oahu who keeps the books for our "Hui", rounds out our responsibilities to keep this property running smoothly. Our combined love of Hawaii and in particular, the Kona Coast runs deep. We would love to share our piece of paradise and rich history with all like minded residents and visitors.

The property is located along the quiet, little known and secluded bay, that provides privacy of the historic bay where Ali'i (Hawaiian Royalty) surfed the waves that break left and right at the entrance of the bay. Today, surfers still come to enjoy the waves during the winter months and during occasional swells in and out of the bay.
He’eia Bay is also a significant location in that the historic Holua Slide ended at the bay. Seen from both the master bedroom and mountain view room, the Holua Slide is an ancient mile-long ramp made of rocks that starts at 600 feet of elevation above sea level. In the past the ramp was made to be slick and it allowed riders on wooden sleds (more like skies with a middle block holding them together) to slide down all the way to the bay during competitions with surfers who were racing to the same location. Quite a race!!
It is awesome to imagine you and your ohana sitting in the same place that they did hundreds of years ago and delighting in the images of time gone by. Looking onto the beach from the ridge, you will see the fish ponds that are still being restored by Kamehameha asset managers, to bring them back to there former use. Such a special place.

An original "Konani" Board (Rock board similar to checkers) sits in the yard ready for play. Your own special private space with pool and jacuzzi with no one to have to share it with, makes this property unique. Perfect for the ohana vacation.
There are wonderful kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, and snorkel spots nearby and we have all the gear you need to enjoy the warm Kona waters. Less than a mile to get onto a ocean snorkel tour or night manta ray tours at Keauhou Bay might be an add on to your plans if you wish!
