Only steps away from a private sandy beach, the short stroll along the oceanfront leads you to a reef-protected beach cove lagoon which is suitable for swimming, snorkeling, and playing in the sand. Abundant tide pools dot the lava rock shelf fronting the homes in the area. Beach chairs are provided for your leisure. Enjoy the turtles, dolphins, and whales!

The splendid property is located in the prestigious, gated and 24-hour security-guarded community in Kailua-Kona, situated directly facing the deep sapphire blue waters of Kona Bay. You can walk to the tennis courts or into Kailua-Kona for entertainment, dining, and shopping. Just a few minutes’ drive to the south are the world-famous Kona coffee plantations, snorkeling bays of Keahou and Kealakekua, and historic sites including the City of Refuge and the Captain Cook Monument. We loved the house. The layout was perfect for friends and family being together. We didn't feel that we were having to tip toe around because there was plenty of space and privacy. The sunsets were stunning and the pool was great. We have such a relaxing time and spent a lot of time enjoying the house and it's location.

This is a beautiful home in a great location. Our family had a couple of issues that were immediately addressed by the management of the home. The lava rocks outside of the home were beautiful - we had family pictures taken while we were there. The Keiki beach is within walking distance and was great for our grandchildren to learn to snorkel. Our family had a great time and would stay here again.

Great for large family. One family group with 3 young kids, all had their own space. The others had quiet space to relax. Kitchen well stocked. Excellent outdoor space to have dinners enjoying the waves crashing. Beds were all comfortable. AC in bedrooms a must this trip as it was warm. View from primary bedroom balcony unbeatable. Loved everything about it.

Wonderful family vacation

Beautiful, spacious, centrally located oceanfront home with outstanding views of the ocean, crashing waves and sunsets. Close to grocery stores, tennis and community garden. Michelle, the property manager was very helpful. Our only recommendation is that a new mattress is badly needed in the main bedroom and screens on the patio doors to keep out the mosquitoes at night. We would definitely stay here again.

Stunning and quiet

The location is fantastic with crashing waves just past the pool. House is comfortable and well stocked for cooking at home. We had three generations who had delightful areas to be together and plenty of space to get away for awhile.

Beautiful Property and Spectacular Views

We booked this house for a family vacation that included our 2 adult children and their spouses, as well as our 15 month old granddaughter. The communication with the owners was excellent. The property is even better than the photos! The minute we walked in and viewed the ocean beyond the sliding glass doors, we were in love! The layout of the house is perfect in that it allows private spaces for each of the couples and we enjoyed the entire second floor bedroom. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed many meals from the lovely table facing the ocean. Sunsets were spectacular! We had two pre-approved vendors given to us by Greg and Michelle (a baby equipment rental company and a private chef), both were excellent! I cant say enough about our great experience! Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home!

Hawaiian Paradise!

The Dolphin House is so much more than can be conveyed in the VRBO description and pictures! The perfect setting for our extended family of ten to celebrate a milestone anniversary! Our week long stay was more sublime than we could have imagined! Our four grandchildren wished they could stay forever. Greg and Michelle are rapidly responsive to any questions you may have which makes your stay carefree.

Property was as described. With the doors open, the breeze was beautiful. Family room was a little warm without the breeze. Purchased 2 box fans from the local Walmart which helped. Wonderful house, great location

Our family of 6 (all adults) spent 8 terrific days at the property. The things we especially enjoyed were the pool, large sliding wall to the lanai, separation of the bedrooms and the quiet neighborhood. We also enjoyed how easy access to town and the highway were from the house. The location is quiet and well maintained, but when we needed to go to the store, or head out on an excursion, the property's location made those trips simple. The house was very clean and has been well maintained. This isn't like some properties that have been furnished and supplied for short term guests. Instead, this house has everything a regularly-lived-in home would have. There wasn't anything we lacked. The kitchen was especially well-equipped: I think we could have gone 5-6 complete meals without using the same plates twice! But, seriously, there were an assortment of pots, pans, utensils, accessory items and glassware. The spice cabinet is very well stocked and the pantry had a number of staples. Our group found the stone wall on the outer side of the property a nice way to wander down to Queen's Bath and up to the Old Airport Park. The path only gets local use so it was never a problem. The pool was fantastic. The chaise lounges were comfortable and the pool refreshing. We spent many hours just hanging out. As for communication, we had no problems. Michelle was quick and responsive and gave us plenty of information. It really couldn't have been easier. I whole-heartedly recommend this house and, if we all head back to the big island, we'll stay here again. It really was a great place to stay.

Beautiful house and excellent location

My family (two adults, two teenage girls) rented the Dolphin House for a week, and we loved it. The house is beautiful and spacious, is right on the Pacific Ocean, has a nice pool, and is conveniently located within walking distance of shops and restaurants. If I get the chance to come to Kona in the future, I would be happy to rent this same house again. There is a full kitchen stocked with plates and silverware. The upstairs and downstairs each have glass walls facing the ocean that can be slid completely open for great views even while indoors. The upstairs has its own balcony with lounge chairs overlooking the ocean, so my wife and I could relax there while the girls were doing things downstairs or playing in the pool. Renters have the option of paying extra for air conditioning in the bedrooms (there is no air conditioning in the rest of the house). We paid for the air conditioning and really needed it at night to sleep well. My only criticism of the property is that there is no one nearby to help if you have a serious emergency: the owner and the rental coordinator live three time zones away in California. We were unable to get into the house the first night due to a problem at the security gate. It was after business hours (7 pm in Hawaii, 10 pm in California), so there was no one to help us. We were lucky that the security guard was willing to let us in temporarily when we could confirm that we had rented the property. The security problem was resolved by the owner and rental coordinator in the morning, but having someone on call in Hawaii would have saved us a lot of trouble.

So lovely!

We had a fabulous stay at this lovely house on the water! The house is open, bright, and the views are stunning. The pool was perfect temperature, there were plenty of chaises and towels and beach supplies. Each bedroom was nicely decorated with en-suite bathrooms perfect for various family groups, and the AC in the bedrooms made sleeping so comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with any dish, pot, appliance, utensil, tool, storage, glassware you could imagine. And some basic condiments and spices. We would definitely book again!

Amazing home with beautiful views!!

The Dolphin House was simply amazing! The pictures and words do not do it justice. The home is in a great location to everything. The kitchen is very well stocked as well as the bathrooms and plenty of towels for everyone. We had 9 in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone to have there own space. We ate at the outside table for every meal and the views are amazing!!

Multi-generational Family Vacation

This home is beautiful and wonderful for a multigenerational vacation! Nine of us from 67yo to 4 yo stayed for a week here and the home is set up beautifully for us. The layout allowed for nice privacy with separate bedroom/bath areas for folks. The main space downstairs has a wide view to the shore and large bank of windowed slider doors that opens to a wonderful long table on the patio where we ate all our meals. The small but very adequate pool was used alot. This home had a very well supplied kitchen and was a core piece to a very fun vacation for us all. We even saw whales several times from the patio. The property manager and owner reached out with helpful vacation planning resources ahead of time and made themselves available if needed during our stay. I would love to go back!
