Perfect house to enjoy the tranquility of the garden, the sunsets from the terrace all year round, relax on the beautiful nearby beaches, or work remotely in total comfort.

Located in the peaceful village of Pedreña, in a privileged setting, this house offers breathtaking views and stunning sunsets.

It features parking, a garage, a terrace, a porch, and a private garden. It is ideal for remote work, with WiFi and a workspace in the living room. The house is southwest-facing, overlooking the bay and the city of Santander.

The village has all essential services: a pharmacy, bank, grocery stores, post office, restaurants, bars, a golf course, and water sports activities.

Santander is just 20 minutes by car or 15 minutes by boat. The boat departs every 30 minutes from just below the house.

The property is 1 minute from the Real Club de Golf de Pedreña and 3 minutes from Golf Junquera Seve Ballesteros.

We are 45 minutes from the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and 2 hours from the Picos de Europa National Park, one of Spain’s most breathtaking hiking destinations.

We highly recommend visiting the world-famous prehistoric cave paintings in Cantabria. The most renowned is Altamira, but only a replica can be visited. Instead, we suggest exploring Covalanas Cave in Ramales de la Victoria and El Pendo Cave in Escobedo, where you can admire original prehistoric art.

Another must-visit is Cabárceno Nature Park, home to a vast variety of wildlife in semi-freedom. You’ll find native Cantabrian species like bears, wolves, deer, and chamois, as well as animals from Africa and Asia, including gorillas, lions, tigers, giraffes, zebras, elephants, hippos, ostriches, hyenas, and monkeys.

Beautiful home in Pedrena!

We had a great stay in Pedrena at this wonderful home! Views across the bay to Santander, the mountains and sunsets were stunning. Check in and out was very easy, great wi-fi, and all the conveniences of home. The ferry to Santander is very convenient and there are many beautiful beaches just a short drive away. Ww would love to come back!

Lovely

Ideal location with the “wild life” beach at the bottom of the hill and Somo and Santander just a ferry ride away. Close grocery store (except Sunday!) and restaurants in walking distance (make a reservation!). Emilia is really kind and helpful and could ask for a better place. Second year in a row going here.

What an amazing view!

We had a great stay in Pedreña - the house really is equipped with everything you would expect. It is a beautiful place with great views, quiet, easy access to the ferry and local restaurants and the small but beautiful beach and Somo Beach are only five minutes away by car. The landlady is - already in advance - very committed and attentive and really makes a lot possible. Many thanks for the great stay!

Comfortable house in wonderfull surrounding

The house was comfortable! It was clean and the beds were excellent. The view from the terrace was magnificent! The drawback while sitting on the terrace enjoying the sun and the view, was the intermitted noise of the traffic, on the road 150 metres away. The host was extremely kind and helpful. We especially enjoyed the boattrips to Santander, Parque Marino de la Magdalena, Somo beach and the beautiful Matelenas golfcourse!

Great Out of the Way Stay

What a lovely home situated in an ideal location. A short walk to the ferry to go to Somo for the beach or Santander. A restaurant at the bottom of the hill where you can order a generous potion of paella to-go to enjoy back “home”. Plenty of room for our family of five. The kids loved the simplicity of the beach at the bottom of the hill as well at the end of the day. Emilia was really good and responsive. She had a list of places to check out and messaged to make sure all was well. It definetly surpassed my expectations.

Emilia welcomed us and her son in law translated to english so we got a lot of information. The house is very nice and has everything you need and view from the terrace is amazing but there is noice from trafic. Emilia is an artist and has a lot of art books and huge amount of CD´s with diffrent music. We walked on the long beach in Somo and other walks. In walking distance there are 4 good restaurants.

a little corner of paradise

The house is beautiful, spacious and modern with an up to date kitchen, and the garden is gorgeous, even more so than the pictures show. Although Pedrena is a small town, it has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Two restaurants in Pedrena serve excellent fresh fish. It's fun to take the ferry into Santander for sightseeing or to watch the commercial shipping traffic in and out of the port. In short, wonderful. Emilia is a superb host, and she was helpful and supportive when we had to leave unexpectedly due to a family emergency. A 10-star experience!

Amazing base of operations.

The care and attention paid to this property make you feel at home. Easy access, close to everything you want to do (Altamira, Guggenheim, Santander proper). What isn’t mentioned in the listing is the high quality cookware, Yamaha upright piano, huge library of art books and literature (Spanish), Denon stereo with giant classical music collection, daily fresh artisanal bread delivery, and ease of walking to the fish fruit and meat stores. Views of Santander across the bay are spectacular especially at night. Host is local and very available for recommendations. Next time we are in the area will definitely be looking for this place again. True 5 star experience.

Brilliant welcome super views/location

Emilia went to great lengths to help us settle in with tour of house and translation to English from son in law. Everything we needed, eg v good dishwasher and washing facilities. She also sent suggestions for things to do and could not have been more kind. We ordered daily bread and croissants delivery from local bakery. Location gives easy access by car or ferry to loads of activities especially surfing in Somo, local kayaking, paddleboard and diving and Santander. Amazing local butchers and restaurants opposite ferry v good. Kids loved surfing, I loved kayaking down river with overhead kites and osprey. Walking from somo round playa de puntal to beach cafes is lovely in the evening. Meant to go to Bilbao but ran out of time!

Great house and owner

The house is as per the photos and the description (minus the beach chairs that are not actually available). The owner was super kind and responsive, and since she didn’t speak English very well, her daughter came to translate for us during the check in. The house is 5 min away (walking) from the ferry to Santander and a few essentials (grocery store, restaurants), large and lit by sunshine. The WiFi is blazing fast (over 300Mbps down and up) and overall the house is pretty quiet with the windows closed. But the road and neighborhood are around, some with dogs, so still a good idea to bring ear plugs if you want to sleep uninterrupted. The only surprise was the fact that the master bathroom only has a tub with a shower hand that you can’t hang anywhere. So you shower sitting in the tub.

Paradise in Pedrena

Emily is a sweet, sweet hostess! She is very engaged with making sure we had everything we needed to make our stay in Pedrena perfect! By everything, I mean everything....from local insights, to bringing us Sobaos which are only sold in Santander to offering us fresh broccoli, cabbage and Swiss chard from her garden. She even texted us to make sure we knew about the time change in Spain during our stay. Her home is super comfy. Beds and linens are top notch, kitchen is fully stocked with everything a chef needs and her front deck is the perfect place for sunrises, sunsets and gazing at the Picos de Europa across the bay. We loved that we could walk and take the ferry into Santander. Definitely visit the Centro Botin Center and rent bikes and ride the coastal trail up to the Palacio de la Magdalena....breath-taking!! We also visited the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and Cabarceno (1900 acres of naturalized space reclaimed from former open-pit mines.) The primitive beauty of the karst landscape with large open enclosures you view from Gondolas is super cool and worth your time. Look no further, this is the place to rent if you want to explore the Cantabria region.

Es maravilloso que el viajero nos haga caso y como si fuesen nuestros “mejores amigos “ nos permitan aconsejarles las buenas cosas para hacer desde la propiedad. Urlaub in der Bucht von Santander

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub in Predana mit herrlichem Balkon und Blick auf Santander. Die Wohnung ist sehr gut gelegen und sehr gut ausgestattet. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin lief reibungslos, Sie hat uns auf sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten und Restaurants hingewiesen. Es hat an nichts gefehlt, die Betten waren sehr gut und nicht durchgelegen. Dennoch habe ich 3 Verbesserungsvorschläge: 1. Es wäre schön, wenn der Fernseher u.a. auch deutsche Programme empfangen würde. 2. Es ist schön ein Bidet zu haben, noch schöner wäre es, wenn ein vernünftiger Wasserstrahl aus dem Hahn kommen würde. 3. Die Küche, so perfekt sie auch mit allen Elektro-geräten eingerichtet ist, könnte neue Arbeitsplatten vertragen. So, das soll jetzt aber nicht den Eindruck trüben, wir würden jederzeit dort wieder Urlaub machen. MfG Heinrich und Ute

Schönes Ferienhaus in praktischer Lage

Wir waren für 2 Wochen in diesem Ferienhaus. Die Kommunikation mit der Vermieterin im Vorfeld des Urlaubs war gut. Das Haus war für uns gut zu finden und wir wurden vor Ort durch die Vermieterin in Empfang genommen. Sie hat sich viel Zeit genommen uns alles zu zeigen und zu erklären. In der restlichen Zeit des Urlaubs war sie immer per Whatsapp gut zu erreichen. Sie hat uns viele hilfreiche Tipps für Ausflüge aber auch Besorgungen gegeben. Das Haus war sauber und ordentlich und hat eine gute Ausstattung. Weder in der Küche als sonst wo haben wir nichts vermisst. Das Wohnzimmer als auch die Terrasse bieten einen tollen Blick über die Bucht und man so bei jedem Wetter dort sitzen und den Ausblick genießen. Von der Straße als auch den Nachbargrundstücken kam nur wenig Lärm. Das komplett umzäunte Grundstück bietet die Möglichkeit, sein Auto sicher abzustellen. Anfangs benötigt man ggfs. ein wenig Übung aufgrund der Hanglage, aber das wurde schnell für uns Routine. Aufgrund der Lage des Hauses empfiehlt es sich, ein Auto zu haben. Die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und viele tolle Ausflugsziele im Hinterland oder entlang der Küste sind vor allem mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Es befindet sich eine Fähre nach Santander und Somo (toller Strand) nur wenige Minuten zu Fuss entfernt vom Haus. Damit kann man gut nach Santander übersetzen und so stress- und autofrei die Stadt erkunden und eine Bootsfahrt genießen. Die Preise der Fähre sind absolut fair.

Enclave muy tranquilo, casa fantástica.

Hemos estado tres días en la maravillosa casa de Emilia. Pedreña es un sitio muy tranquilo en esta época del año, ideal para dar paseos y disfrutar del entorno sin la aglomeración del verano. Tiene cerca comercio local y varios restaurantes donde poder disfrutar de la gastronomía de la zona. La casa es fantástica, con grandes ventanales que proporcionan mucha luz durante todo el día. El salón-comedor es amplio y bien distribuido, con una gran colección de CDs de música y una estupenda biblioteca. En la cocina, Emilia tiene todo lo necesario en cuanto a menaje y electrodomésticos, incluso te deja aceite, especias, café, etc. Además nos dejó una botella de agua en la nevera, que se agradece mucho cuando llegas de viaje. Ella nos orientó fenomenal sobre la zona, comercios, restaurantes, playas, paseos, etc. Ha sido un fin de semana perfecto.Esperamos poder volver en cuanto nos surja la oportunidad. Una estancia perfecta

La casa es maravillosa, especialmente sus vistas, que son increibles. Ademas está en una zona muy buena, con buena gastronomía y todo muy cerca. Tanto para ir a visitar Santander como para el resto de Cantabria. Emilia es encantadora, nos trató de forma espectacular. Repetiremos seguro!

Excelente ubicación y casa muy limpia y bien equipada.

La casa tiene unas vistas fantásticas de la bahía de Santander. Esta perfectamente equipada con todo lo necesario. En la cocina no hemos echado en falta nada. La decoración es agradable y te hace sentir como en casa. Las habitaciones son amplias.

Why they chose this property

I always dreamed to build a house with my partner and we shared this dream. Our parents were born here and fell in love with this land have always lived near the sea and was one of my priorities. This land never disappointed. Every day there is a new landscape in a different light a sunset a wind or a cloud full moon reflected in the sea. It has the advantage of the village near the town and beaches. The best is the lounge to read and play piano work and dream of the landscape. And today renewing the garden. The whole house is made with much effort and attention, it lacks some details that we add each year. It is not a luxurious house. But it's very nice. The best sunbathing in the garden and ask prepared to take home in the bars nearby "sardines" a la plancha or typical "rabas" area buy a beer or a good Spanish wine and food enjoyed on the terrace.

What makes this property unique

It is not a luxurious house. It is really nice.
The best is the room to read, play, work and enjoy the scenery. Here we have made many meetings of artists. And I'm renovating the garden for the third time, this will be the final change. The whole house is made with great effort and care. Every year we add improvements and details.
It is a home to enjoy it in all things that brings as its good location, close to everything, lots of light, without being too big is comfortable, well equipped, new television, private garden and cleaning.
It is a safe place where you can wander in and out with confidence.
Cantabrian Sea baths are excellent health and mood baths huge wave of tradition since the beginning of the century are something spectacular on these beaches. Best early and bathe early in the morning when there are no people on the beaches and the water temperature is good.
