We had a great time riding bikes, paddle boarding, reading, and exploring the area! The property was a good home base for us and it was really nice to be able to store bikes in the garage/shed.
Not sure where to start. The house is perfect right in the water. Beautiful views all day long especially at sunset. Convenient location with so much to do in the area. Bob and his daughter Heather were extremely nice and helpful. Absolutely love this place!!
This was a fantastic place to spend some time with the kids. We really enjoyed being right on the lake and spent a lot of time kayaking. The nearby bike path and bike ferry was a lot of fun.
We had a wonderful time at this quaint cabin on the lake. Beautiful sunsets, bird watching and hanging out. The house had all the amenities one needed. We appreciated the kayaks and all the beach accessories. We definitely look forward to a future stay!
Loved our time on the lake in this charming “Camp”/cottage. Felt welcomed with stocked fridge and Vermont goodies. Cottage was thoughtfully furnished with everything we could want. Views of the lake from the living room and front deck were wonderful. Great area for exploring, and just half hour from Burlington.
Hope we can return someday.
We booked this property to enjoy the total eclipse but got more than just a great view. The house was roomy and well-furnished with anything we could use (linens, towels, kitchen items, etc.). It was super-tidy and welcoming. The beds were a little snug but you can't expect a jumbo bed in a cabin. We would definitely visit again!
The island and the property are just perfect. Weather is weather! It was a stormy week, but still quite beautiful in Vt. We were so glad we stayed in this cozy cabin, it was so nice to relax with the kids before moving our oldest into his dorm at UVM.
Enjoyed the stay. Quiet neighborhood. Right in Lake Champlain. Ease of access to rest of Vermont. Everything is within 2 hours drive. Love that. Wonderful changing of leaves drives. Backroads are the best is Vermont. Thanks

UVM Family Weekend Escape
Perfect refuge for me and my daughter on UVM family weekend. Out of the fray and time to reconnect and recharge. Loved having the kayaks (under the stars!) and all the thoughtful touches of the home. This is a gem of a spot. So lucky to have found it. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Let's say that I was extremely tempted to rent the place for the rest of the year. It was so pretty, the owner could not have been nicer or more accommodating, and the sunsets were breathtaking. The cabin (or "camp" as it is called in VT) is small but plenty of room for 2 to 4 adults (the one room has twin beds which would also work for kids). It is very convenient - kayaks and life jackets are provided and the storage shed is where we stored our bikes. There is no dishwasher but that was not an inconvenience. The refrigerator was even stocked with eggs and milk and there was a basket with Vermont goodies in it.
If you are not fond of reeds touching you, then it wouldn't be a swim from shore kind of experience, but there is a sandy beach a short drive from the cabin on the Sandbar Bridge which is very swimmable. We biked one day to the ferry access and back, 10-ish miles round trip.
In short, a wonderful lakefront stay that has stuck with us. I sometimes close my eyes during stressful times and picture sitting on the deck watching the birds and water rippling.

What a kind review. We would welcome you back anytime!
Beautiful cabin but called "camp". We felt right at home and we were thankful they had AC during the small heat wave. We loved sitting on the deck and on the dock! If we had more time we would have definitely used the 2 kayaks which they provided. Means we have to come back. Thank you to Robert our host he was terrific. Very quick to respond to our messages. Bye to Vermont for now.
Breathtaking is the best description of the view from this house. It is perfectly located - a short drive could bring you to a farm stand, hike, or to Burlington for the tasty food scene. The owner was pleasant and easy to communicate with. Highly recommend South Hero for a quiet getaway.
This lakeside cottage was great for our family of 4. We enjoyed everything the property had to offer including watersports (kayaks and rowboat) and proximity to local restaurants and attractions. Seb's quickly became a favorite with the kids and we also enjoyed horseback riding on the island as well as the local winery and brewery. Apple Island marina, a few minutes away, was a fun afternoon on the lake with a pontoon rental. The host was easy to communicate with and answered questions and addressed minor issues promptly. Thanks for a great visit!
Wonderful cottage right on Lake Champlain. Had everything we need to cook meals, enjoy the lake and be close to family in Milton and all the area had to offer.

Why they chose this property
The cottage is located on Keeler Bay in a cove with privacy. The location is near apple orchards, museums, wineries, biking paths and the bike ferry as well as antiquing and farmers markets. Fishing, boating, kayaking, etc. is amazing on Lake Champlain. Leaf peeping in Vermont is the best in New England. We have paid attention to every detail inside the home and try to make sure every guest, friend, and family member is comfortable.
