About this property

Spectacular Views & Comforts of Home in Portland s Most Desirable Neighborhood

Windows with massive water & city views from the kitchen, dining and living areas, and 360 degrees from your private roof deck. Enjoy Portland's bustling harbor over your morning joe or evening glass of wine. Stroll the East End, w/our gorgeous Eastern Promenade, excellent restaurants, grocers, baked goods, coffee. Take a short walk downtown to shop in the Old Port, and choose from all of Portland's award-winning restaurants. Like to cook? Fully equipped kitchen!

This private apartment is a wonderful space for a couple, two couples or small family exploring Portland. The master bedroom has a new queen bed, and there's a second sleeping space available for extra guests in the living room where a comfortable futon easily folds down to accommodate two.

The East End is Portland’s ‘little Brooklyn’, the hip neighborhood just a short walk into the Old Port or downtown. Our neighborhood is home to our huge park the Eastern Prom, East End Beach, the waterfront walking/biking/running trail, the Observatory, the 4th of July fireworks, the summer concerts in the gazebo, as well as some of Portland’s favorite restaurants & markets.

There’s off-street parking for one car & plentiful free street parking right out your door. We recommend walking (10-20 mins depending on destination) or taking a 3-5 minute Uber if heading into town for dinner.
HOUSE RULES & PET RULES - Please read carefully
Part of the charm of this space is its location on a quiet tree lined street on the East End. Out of respect for our neighbors, other guests and for our us as well - guests are required to agree to a few simple rules.

- Quiet hours 10pm to 7am. Music, TV, and voices should be at normal levels.
- When returning to the house a from night out, whether on the street or in the house, please keep your voices down. Our neighbors are not on vacation.
- No parties or events allowed at all
- If you bring any glasses onto the deck, please bring them back to the kitchen
- No indoor furniture or bedding on roof deck
- No music on roof deck
- No open flames or candles in the apartment or on the deck
- Children are not allowed on deck unless attended by a responsible mature adult at all times
- Never sit or lean on deck railings, and never climb over railings onto the roof for any reason
- No smoking is allowed in the building, including on any deck, or in front or back entryways
- We ask that you please remove shoes inside
- No cutting directly on the kitchen counters. Please use cutting boards
- Bikes: We welcome pedalers. Please do not bring bikes inside the building. You may lock them to the ‘black wave’ bike rack. The bike rack is located in the courtyard (for guests at 62 Monument Street).
- Pets: please make your request for approval of your pet in advance. All guests with pets will be asked to review and agree to our Rules below for Furry Family and pay a pet fee
- The booking guest, as our only contact for your group, is responsible for the rest of the group, so please make sure everyone in your group is made aware of these rules and is willing to abide by them
- Before checking out, please walk through all rooms, and the roof deck, to check for forgotten items. Message us if you see notice any damage or any extra cleaning needed
----------
RULES FOR FURRY FAMILY
Dogs, cats and birds are welcome, provided guests make the request in advance and agree to these pet rules
- We are sorry but we can not accept aggressive dogs
- Request by sending a message including breed, age and temperament. - We charge a $50 pet fee per reservation for up to two pets, for short stays up to 4 days. For longer stays or more than two pets, please inquire directly with us. The pet fee supports the Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland and Portland Trails, two local organizations instrumental in animal welfare and outdoor access for dogs. If you've included your pet at the time of booking then the pet fee is usually included in your total. If you made your request after confirming your booking, then we will request payment separately
- Our spaces are in historic buildings where noise travels, therefore we can't welcome pets who are likely to make a lot of noise, for instance by barking, whining or howling.
- Puppies (up to 12 months old) may not be left alone in the space at all, and must be crate-trained. You will be required to bring a crate.
- Crates for adult dogs are strongly encouraged. We are dog lovers first, and know from experience that a dog’s crate is a place of security as well as a safe containment to prevent anything unwanted from happening
- Dogs may only be left alone, and only for a maximum of 2 hours, if they do not bark, whine, howl or make other noises; they are not destructive; and they are fully house-trained.
- You must keep your phone turned on, and be reachable by phone at all times. Should there be noise coming from your apartment from your pet you will need to return immediately.
- You must use a leash while entering and exiting the building and apartment. Portland has a leash law as well, so you will need your dog on a leash on all public property (unless in a specified off-leash area).
- Please pick up! A small metal trash bin is provided in the driveway area for poo bags
- The courtyard and garden are off limits for potty breaks. Please take a nice stroll through our beautiful neighborhood instead. See our Dog-friendly Portland list of recommendations for traveling with your dog for more ideas.
- Please bring your own pet bed. Please keep pets off of the furniture. If your pet is used to getting on furniture, please bring a blanket to cover furniture.
- Just like anywhere else...if there is damage or there are stains left by your furry one, it will result in a damage fee

Beautiful place to stay
We enjoyed a few nights at this wonderful property to kick off spring break with 2 teenagers. The space was so relaxing! I wish we could have stayed longer to cook in the amazing kitchen. We did however enjoy many espressos and coffee drinks. The rooftop deck was a neat space to hang out and watch the boats go by. We explored the neighborhood and pretty much walked everywhere. Overall perfect spot for our group as everyone had a great time. Thanks so much for having us!

Great retreat in Portland
My daughter and I recently spent the weekend at this property. It was a great neighborhood that was quiet with a few coffee shops and restaurants nearby. The apartment was decorated very nicely and lots of room to spread out. And if you like coffee, there were many different styles to prepare your favorite beverage. Everything went smoothly from booking to check out at this property and I highly recommend it to soemone who wants a Maine getaway! Just remember though if you have someone with a dsiability in your party, the apartment is a third floor walk up.

Winter Getaway
Portland never disappoints... apartment was great and so was dealing with property manager. The only thing I'd change was the ability to walk into the main part of town.

Hands down best place we have ever stayed
From booking to checkout, this is the best place we have ever stayed- for reference, we have stayed in over thirty VRBO homes around the globe. Information about check in was clear and prompt. The apartment was well stocked, beautiful & immaculately clean.
