A 3-minute walk takes you to the HIll Arts/ St. Lawrence Arts Center or continue to stroll toward the ocean and take in the phenomenal views of Casco Bay. Take advantage of a variety of biking and walking trails, the nearby East End Beach or tennis courts, visit a host of food trucks, or seek out kayaks and paddles board for rent.
A quick walk towards town brings you first to Portland's trendiest foodie neighborhood of Washington Avenue with many of Portland's finest restaurants and boutique shops. A little further still takes you to East Bayside with its multiple galleries and breweries, and finally you reach into downtown Portland and its quaint cobblestone streets, sophisticated bars, award winning restaurants, and theatrical and musical venues.
You also enjoy easy access to neighborhood food markets, Portland's Whole Foods Market and Trader Joe's, and the Portland Food Coop. And you are a 15 minute drive to beaches in South Portland and Cape Elizabeth.

From the NY TIMES 36 Hours in Portland, Maine:
"After dinner, take a short stroll up Munjoy Hill, which dominates the eastern end of the city’s peninsula, to enjoy not one but two incredible views. At the end of Marion Street, follow the stone steps up to Fort Sumner Park, which looks west over Portland’s Back Cove. On a clear day, you can see the peak of Mount Washington and an exceptional sunset. From there, walk up Quebec Street to arrive at the Eastern Promenade, a 78-acre park that looks east over Casco Bay. Lounge on the grass or head back downhill on Congress Street to sit outside at Oxbow, one of the many Maine breweries that make beer in Portland or have outposts here, or choose from a long list of ciders on tap (from $7.50) at the Basque-inspired Anoche."

About the host
Hosted by Jocelyn Lee and Brian Urquhart
We have lived in Maine for a decade now and seem to fall in love with it more with each passing year. It's been a source of great satisfaction for us to offer our guests thoughtfully designed and comfortable spaces to stay and we work very hard to help them discover for themselves the cultural, culinary, and natural riches of Portland and the surrounding areas.
Why they chose this property
We originally chose this building because the area reminded us so much of the urban walking neighborhoods of our youth and we wanted to do what we could do enhance the character of the place. We were lucky to be able to invite Belleville into the building and were excited to offer guests a springboard to wonderful places to eat, drink, and be entertained only a short way from their front door. The ambience of the area and the quality of the offerings have only improved with time as Washington Avenue and other nearby areas have continued to flourish and grow.
What makes this property unique
It would be difficult to find a space more centrally located to access with ease many of the locales that make Portland a destination. At the very peak of Munjoy Hill, in a short walk guests can access the peninsula from all points on the compass.
We also think you will immediately feel you are in a special, considered space that quietly exudes both a unique historic character and a completely contemporary sense of design and appointment.
